This vintage Magnolia Cornucopia Vase was made by the Hull Pottery Company of Ohio between 1947 and 1948 and is marked: Hull / USA / #H-10-8 1/2. Addis E. Hull founded Hull Pottery in 1905 in Zanesville, Ohio and in the early years produced stoneware specialities. They expanded in 1907, adding a second plant and employing over 200 workers. By 1920 they were manufacturing a full line of stoneware, art pottery with both airbrushed and blended glazes, florist pots, and gardenware. They also produced toilet ware and kitchen items with a white semi-porcelain body. By the mid-1930's interest in art pottery production was growing, and over the next 15 years, several lines of matt pastel floral-decorated patterns were designed, consisting of vases, planters, baskets, ewers, and bowls in various sizes. In the late 50's and 60's figural planters and novelties, piggy banks, and dinnerware were produced in abundance. By the mid 70's dinnerware and florist ware were the mainstay of their business. The firm discontinued operations in 1985. With large Magnolia flowers and lush green leaves it is exquisitely detailed with gold trim. In very good + condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites, it does have age crazing and a dark spot under the glaze which is quite common in these pieces as I have shown in my pictures and it measures 8 7/8 inches tall, 9 long and 3 1/4 inches wide. An addition to any Hull Pottery Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions feel free to contact me and thank you for looking.
Unmarked oval bowl in creamy off-white. Hand decorated with enamel daisies, accented with green leaves and gold highlights. Gold around teh scalloped rim. Measures 5 7/8 inches long, 4 1/2 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches tall. No chips or cracks. Unmarked, but charming!
Cute vintage baby bowl, made in Czechoslovakia and the rim has Baby in letters plus three graphics; a chicken, a ball, and a house. Originally the bottom would have contained a graphic as well, but that has worn off over the years, still it is very cute. No chips, has the normal manufacturing defects, and a dark blue band around the outer rim. It is faintly marked on bottom in a red circle, and the bottom is unglazed - probably dates to the 1920's-1930's.
Probably Pennsylvania redware, c. 1850. 8 7/8 d x 1 ½ deep. Coggled edge, lots of crazing, some inside wear. No cracks or chips and a sound body. A fine example. (201D) Keywords: primitive, serving dish, stoneware. country
David Gil Coop Design #1202 7 inch teardrop Musician in very early glossy white glaze, with the COOP Man/hand logo partially visible still at the top AND the rectangular Cooperative Design Bennington Vermont mark as well as .99 in black ink. It does not have the rough unglazed rim of the earliest pieces thus I am fairly confident this is a slightly later piece circa 1960. In 1960 most pieces added the words Bennington Potters to the incised mark. I have other designs in this teardrop series which carry the Raymor label. I recently purchased the same design in white glaze, making it easier to see that the instrument is a clarnet. It is in excellent shape. I recently learned that when Gil decided to mark his works with shape numbers, he started with the number 1300. However, if an earlier design was to remain in production, they marked it with a number starting with 1200. This explains the numbering and mark on the transition pieces. They are among the few American studio potteries that turned into production potteries in the midcentury. It evolved into a co-operative of different art potters. After 1960, they made their bread and butter by making gorgeous modern styled dinnerware that was distributed throughout the US and sold in fine department stores.

An unusual and intriguing head vase with a back opening for wall hanging if so desired is this vintage 1940's/1950's Royal Copley Blackamoor figure standing 8 inches tall , measures 4 inches across the base, and has an interior depth of 7 inches. The Persian prince figure wears a cream colored turban with yellow accented top. He sports an earring in his left ear and his features are nicely detailed in a color palette of cream, brown, and yellow. Spaulding China Company of Sebring, Ohio began its pottery manufacturing in 1942. At the height of their production, they had more than four thousand molds in use and worked twenty-four hours around the clock. Their quality line of ceramics carried the Royal Copley, Royal Windsor, and Spaulding names. The company ceased to exist after the retirement of its owner and president in 1957. The head vase figure does have some crazing and a tight hairline that is on the left side turban area, but over-all this vintage head vase is in fine condition, and would make a marvelous display item. The Royal Copley name is written in script below the pre-drilled hole for wall hanging on the backside of the figure.

ANNA Van Briggle Rose Bowl measures 5 1/2 inches wide and stands 4 1/2 inches tall with a brown glaze with green leaves. The piece is in great condition with no cracks or chips. It does have crazing. Ann Van Briggle died in 1929. The Anna line was produced from 1954 until 1968, so obviously Anna Van Briggle did not sign those pieces. The designation of Anna for this line happened more as an afterthought than anything. It was just a way of keeping a problematic line of clay and glaze that we bought from Dryden Pottery separate from the normal Van Briggle clays and glazes.

Doranne Of Calif Pottery Tree Of Life Serving Platter
Doranne is one of the many pottery companies known for California Pottery. They were in business from the 1950's through the 1980's and were located in Los Angeles. This generously sized serving platter measures 15 inches long by 10 1/2 inches wide. Inset design is what's known as the Tree of Life pattern. Circular inset area is designed for collecting juices/gravy when used for serving meat. The platter is done in a lilac coloring, which is still very bright and vivid. The glaze is nice and shiny. There are no major damage issues with this piece, however, we do want to note the following imperfections. There is a tiny flake at the rim in the rope design edging. This is hardly noticeable, but we wanted to report this for accuracy. Our one close up picture of the edge shows the area in question. There is also some minor specs/stains on the surface, which does not detract from the appeal. Lastly, there is some roughness under the base. This does not effect the functionality of this piece. Nice, uncommonly colored piece, which would also serve well as a display piece if you prefer not to use as a serving platter.
This is a set of two fine porcelain serving boats. They are approximately 15 inches long each, about 2 inches across and have a nice ripple design along the side. They're great for those over-laden holiday buffets - they take up so little room because they are so long and narrow! Besides olives, they'd be perfect for cherry tomatoes, sweet pickle midgets, hamburger dills, nuts - just to name a few uses. They are new in the box, and unused. I bought them a few years ago, put them in my closet and forgot I had them!

This is a smaller table lamp - perfect for a bedroom dresser - and measures 9 high to the top of the socket, and is about 6 in diameter. The hole for the cord is factory drilled and glazed. I do not know the manufacturer. This looks to be at least vintage , perhaps even true Arts & Crafts Movement. It is in excellent condition. No cracks, hairlines, or chips. In working condition.
