Pewabic

Contemporary collectible Pewabic art pottery vase. Circle incised mark: Pewabic 1998 Detroit. Nice unused condition. It is 5.75 tall x 3.5 wide at top. Very nice piece of modern art pottery. The Pewabic shop is still making great pottery and tiles here in Detroit, MI. Anything signed and dated is collectible despite not being 'vintage' yet. 1/10de8#9699

Art pottery vase planter. This item is marked, but not marked Pewabic, but 99% sure it is; it does have an artist's name: 'Gattea'? (hard to read, w/some numbers). It is a hand made piece, (ridges on interior of bowl). Dumouchelles recently had an almost identical item in their catalog and attributed it to being Pewabic, and that item was not marked Pewabic either. This was purchased at an estate in MI, and Pewabic Pottery is in Detroit. The bowl has a drainage hole, and there are two eyelets for hanging. It is thick and heavy with no chips or cracks. It is 16.5 long x 6.5 wide. The clay on backside is a buff to yellow color. A superb piece of art pottery and will work in an Arts & Crafts style room too or hung on your enclosed garden wall, atrium, etc.! 6.07estcs
