Lovely old Zanesville art pottery vase. It has some brownish crazing but no chips or cracks. It is almost 2.5 tall x 6.25 total width or 4.75 across to opening. It shown in J. Rans book, shape #95; shown on pg. 76. 9/11estcs
Large vintage yellow floor vase. Some books call them oil jars. Very thick and heavy; yellowish clay on unmarked bottom. Based on the above factors, I would say it is a Zanesville Stoneware jar. Ransbottom has more of a tan clay and is usually marked, and McCoy jars are not quite as thick as ZSC. It is almost 16 inches tall; it would be shape 'J' shown in J. Rans book. No chips or cracks. The yellow is not quite a bright as the lst pic and not faded like the 2nd pic; it is a Pooh Bear soft mellow yellow. It has some crazing circling the top neck area. Very nice old vase. You can use outdoors if you drill a hole in center bottom for drainage; great for bamboo, cattails, palms, sunflowers! 8/11ro#

The shoes are in good vintage condition and all are identical but for the colors. They are 4 long x 2 wide.
Vintage art pottery lilly pad flower frog. VERY UNIQUE, hard-to-find item! Blue blended glazed lilly pad flower holder/frog. This item is shown in the Zanesville book, with same measurements, but another person relates it is also shown in the Fulper book. If Fulper, it is worth a lot more than this price. And, the clay on bottom is different from ZSC, so Fulper is more likely. Early companies copied each other frequently. This lilly pad has a grease mark on bottom, #50 and what appears to be a letter and then a P, but not sure on the letters because they are quite faded. It measures 3.75 wide one way, and 4 wide another way; and is 1.75 high. No chips or cracks, but does have crazing if you look at it upside down. Can you live without this little beauty?
Vintage Zanesville Stoneware Company vase. c:1951 & earlier. It is the vase on the right in the picture, (the picture of it by itself did not come out). Nice white Zanesville vase/planter, that is shown in Ralston's 2002 book on pg. 258 & pg. 77. It came in white, green, blue, and yellow. It is 4 high x 4 wide. No chips or cracks, just some interior rust or burn marks. The book value was $30-40 in 2002. Looks great atop the other white Zanesville vase I have listed herein, scroll through to see the pedestal picture. This style of ZSC goes well in modern decors. ZSC is no longer in business.
Adorable vintage Zanesville Stoneware puppy planter. Shown in the Zanesville book by J. Ralston. It is about 7.5 long x 4.5 high. Good vintage condition; just missing a tad of the cold paint on his nose and mouth, and some on the collar, and has one pinhead size fleabite off bottom rim of front paw, (not really detectable unless you put it in front of your nose and try very hard to see it). He is quite heavy, (stoneware), and has the typical Zanesville pinpops and four dry paws. Way below book price! There is a similar one that was Made in Japan, but that one is ceramic, not stoneware.
Very heavy duty drip glaze planter vase. 99% sure it is a Zanesville Stoneware Co. vase, (spun vase). It has the raised number on the bottom #7005, like some Zanesville pottery is marked; and it also has yellowish clay, as well as being quite thick and heavy. It is about 3/4 of an inch thick at the top and must be at least an inch thick at the base, and has no chips or cracks; has two squiggly gouges in the exterior, (these are flaws when it was made). I did not see it in my Zanesville book, but that book mainly covers from the 1950's and earlier, although on the last 2 catalog pages there are vases called 'Spun Vases' which strongly resemble this one dating to the 1960's. A barrel cactus or faux African violet would look great in this little pot! brcs
Vintage Zanesville Stoneware Company vases or planters. 4 items, one price. First item is 6 wide by 5 high. It is marked 856-5 in raised relief. Has a one tiny brown spot on body, but this is under the glaze and must be a factory flaw and a little fleabite on bottom rim which doesn't show. Next is a larger, rounder vase; 5.25 tall x 6.25 wide. Next is a very thick vase with raised number on bottom. It is 4 tall x 5.5 wide and also has one tiny fleabite on top rim. Last is a small item which might be a candle holder; raised number 8004 on bottom. All have ribbed bodies and look cute with sedum plants or african violets. Thick, sturdy, well made American pottery. Can go indoors or out in summer. 8/10gscs
Vintage Zanesville Stoneware pillow vase. I have 2 on hand; price is for one. If you want both, hit quantity . Nice heavy-duty vintage American pottery vases by ZSC and can also be used as planters for faux silk plants, or rolled tea towels, pot pourri, etc. Incised number #312 on dry yellow bottom. Shown in the ZSC book. Good vintage condition, no chips or cracks, 5.75 high x 4.25 wide. ZSC is no longer in business.
Vintage stoneware jardinaire. 2 in store, price is for one jar. Not marked ZSC, but most are not. Heavy duty jard. It measures 7.5 across x 6 high, and has some minor pin size glaze pops, typical of Zanesville, but no chips or cracks. There is another jard with the same pattern, but with a different shape, that is shown in the book on ZSC so I am 99.9% sure it is Zanesville, (see pg. 255, J. Rans book). Beautiful, durable, functional, decorative pottery. I also have this same jard in the white color.
