Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: S. J. Addis
This is a top quality English made carving chisel marked "S.J. Addis CAST STEEL ENGLAND 38" on the steel shank. It is 1/4" wide at the cutting edge, and 10.2" long overall. It has a flat sweep or arc in regards to the type of gouge, it is nearly flat, and the bent front is the opposite of most with the in-channel part being on the underside, sharp and ready to use. This one looks like it would be good for putting a radius over the top of a small standing carved detail. It has a good solid, hardwood tanged type handle, that fits well and looks nice, one small ding noted. A very nice, hard to find chisel overall, by a well known edge tool maker! We have several chisels in stock, if you buy more than one, we discount the shipping to actual shipping on multiple orders.
