UP for sale is a handmade Black Forest hanging inkwell. I believe that this is a marriage of two pieces. The bottom piece is a Black Forest style antelope head shelf. The top consists of two hand carved cabins attached to a platform. The larger cabin opens up to a glass inkwell. The smaller cabin opens up to a square box, to be used for just about anything. The amazing thing about this piece is the craftsmanship of the top piece. The attention to detail is extraordinary. Then they attached the top piece to the antelope shelf and put hooks on the back to hang it up. Since I don't know the history of this piece, the carpenter could have also made the bottom piece. The entire shelf measures approximately 10 tall to the top of the larger cabin. The top measures approximately 8 wide and 3 3/4 deep. The antelope shelf measures approximately 6 tall and 3 3/4 at its widest. It is in good condition with just some minor flaws. The larger cabin has a chip on the top in the wood and the roof has a separation in the front. A unique piece with outstanding craftsmanship!
Up for sale is a wonderful Sheila's Creations house entitled San Francisco Reserve . It also comes with its original box. All of her items are hand crafted and made in Charlotte, South Carolina. There is a writeup on the back pertaining to the Reserve along with a signature and date. This one is dated 1995. It is made of wood-this has a pink background with blue, green and yellow colors. The artistry is remarkable. It measures approximately 7 at its widest, 4 7/8 at its tallest and 1 deep. It is in good condition. A wonderful piece of American artistry!
Seems a shame, in all the years I have owned this figure, I have been unsuccessful in finding a makers mark. O, I find plenty of marks, just nothing I can Identify. Weighs a heavy 116.8 0z. Very dense wood used. I found this in an Antique store in the 80's and was told was carved in 40's.
