Wood framed under glass

A Friend Is Not A Fella Taken In By Sham.

A Friend Is One Who Knows Our Faults,

And Doesn't Give A Damn!

THESE LARGE HIGH RELIEF WALL SCULPTURES ARE FROM CUERNAVACA, MEXICO AND ARE EXTREMELY WELL MADE AND VERY BEAUTIFUL. THESE PLAQUES ARE QUITE HEAVY AND ARE MADE OF A WOOD THAT APPEARS TO BE WALNUT OR MAHOGANY. THE WOOD PANELS ARE TOPPED BY HIGH RELIEF TOTEM TYPE DESIGNS AND A BORDER MADE OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE TURQUOISE STONE CHIPS BOUND INTO A KIND OF RESIN. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS COMPANY'S WORK AND CANNOT DETERMINE EXACTLY WHAT THAT COMPOSITION MATERIAL IS.

THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE WORKMANSHIP IS EVIDENT IN THEIR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION. THERE ARE 3 STICKERS ON THE BACK PROUDLY PROCLAIMING THEIR ORIGIN. ZAREBSKI WAS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK AND THEY ARE A MEMBER OF THE ASSOCIACION NACIONAL ARTESANOS DE LA REPUBLICA MEXICANS. THE MOST ILLUSTRIOUS AND SPECTACULAR CULTURE OF MIDDLE AMERICA CIVILIZATIONS IS UNDOUBTEDLY THAT OF THE MAYA.

THIS PAIR OF MAYAN STYLE WALL SCULPTURES WOULD LOOK WONDERFUL IN MOST ANY STYLE DECOR BECAUSE OF THEIR STRIKING APPEARANCE AND IMPRESSIVE SIZE. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED THEM CLOSE TOGETHER TO BE ABLE TO SHOW MORE IN THE PHOTO, BUT OF COURSE THEY WOULD LOOK BETTER HANGING SEPARATELY. This is a very nice antique Mother Motto Print by Buzza. It has a beautiful woman in Victorian dress with lovely details throughout. She is surrounded by an eyelet frame with delicate silver foil cutouts and bouquets of flowers. Charming sentiment. The poet is Maurine Hathaway, although it does not say that. In the lower left corner, it reads, "Buzza Craftacres MPLS, USA". The frame is wood with original gold paint with black highlights. Original glass, paper backing, and cloverleaf Buzza brass hanger. This motto is in excellent original condition. Circa 1920’s.  This is a very pretty print of a Gold Finch Bird. Finches are very small birds. At birth they are only 1/2" big and when they are adults they are only about 3" big. They come in all differant colors but this is the original color of the original bird. There is a couple of spots on the print, like someone wrote on a piece of paper with this below it. I can not get a picture of it because it is like a small indent and not in ink or pencil. There are 3 lines about 1/2" and one dot. Other than that this is a perfect print.

These are the acual prints of this vintage children's book, BIRDS AT HOME by Marguerite Henry and illustrated with beautiful frameable full-page lithos by Jacob Bates Abbott. It was published in 1942 by M. A. DONOHUE AND COMPANY, 721 S. Dearborn St. Chicago, IL. These are in very good condition. No writing, creasing, or bending of the paper. Their are twelve beautiful lithos which measure 10" X 12" with lovely realistic bright colors. The outside packaging reads Pictures in full colors of Animals, Birds, Indians by Celebrated Artists These pictures are illustrations from the following books each one written by an outstanding authority. On the back of each picture is words about the birds.
