The back side has artful decorations of birds, blossoms and tree branches without any inlay. Vivid gold, russet, orange, and cinnamon colors on both sides of the screen accentuate the screen’s appeal.

This petite screen would be wonderful as a backdrop for a vase filled with an arrangement of oriental flowers or branches. Stamped Hirshbeel Molders, Orange City, Florida on the backside of the plaque, the plaque most likely was manufactured during the 1960’s through 1970’s time frame.  This is a very attractive antique hand-painted house blessing. William Garnet Hazard 1903 - 1987

Garnet Hazard was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario. When he was a year old, the family moved to Saskatchewan to farm. His first art instruction was given by a lady in Moosejaw, Sask., who was a painter of China. Before pursuing further art studies, he taught in rural Saskatchewan for a time. He then headed to the United States to study at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and the American Academy of Art (also in Chicago). After taking further training at the Phoenix Art Institute, he traveled to New York to study under the well-known illustrators, Franklin Booth and Thomas Fogarty.

He returned to Saskatchewan to become the Director of Art Education at the Regina Technical College. He was also an instructor at the Regina College for many years. During the Second World War, he traveled across Canada giving illustrated art lectures called "Chalk Talks". He moved to Owen Sound, Ontario and developed a relationship with the Dale Carnegie Institute in Ontario and the Caribbean. After traveling around the world on a tramp steamer, he finally settled in Fallbrook, Ontario, with his wife. At a showing of his paintings at the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery, he exhibited watercolour works and drawing from his travels around the world. An article in the Owen Sound Sunday Times expounded on the "sheer beauty and design" of the 38 watercolour and pencil works on display. The exhibition included landscapes from Europe, the Caribbean and various Canadian locations. He exhibited in many cities across Canada over the years. He was a member of the Society of Canadian Painter-Etchers and Engravers.

Framed print by Garnet Hazard of of a house nestled in the woods. The lovely muted blue grey tones will match any decor. Frame measures 27 x 31 in. Nicely framed and matted. There is a discoloration spot on the left hand side of the mat.

This is the first of one of these I have acquired. Wonderful victorian picture by Jon Botie with plastic frame and a real clock on the clock pole. I am thinking 1950 1960 because the instructions state to use "C, 1 1/2 Volt Battery". Picture is 16" X 21" and is in excellent condition. Yes, the clock works. Will give price of shipping when order is final, has to be put in special box.  Beautiful glass egg hand painted with baskets and tulips. Made by Dept. 56. In excellent condition.  Everyone should have a Picasso hanging on their wall. Great plaque from Athen International in England. It states, "This block is treated by Ahtena's special process to preserve colours.". Some rubbing on the left bottom, but otherwise in excellent condition.  This framed landscape is a marvelous oil on canvas painted and signed by the artist, B (Bernard) Duggan. At first glance, the viewer is struck by the vibrancy of the colors and a sense of an inner light source that seems to jump right off the canvas. Bernard Duggan had an inner eye that enabled him to capture on canvas, the setting sun and the light reflecting off those buttes, mesas, and varieties of cactus.

The total framed size on the vertical desert landscape is 28 inches high by 24 inches wide. The painted scene measures 24 inches high by 19 1/2 inches wide. The professional rough hewn western style frame features a braided rope inset into the frame. Initially, the oil canvas was first attached to a wooden framework, which was then mounted into the show frame. The frame style complements well the natural splendor of the desert landscape.

There is not a wealth of information on the artist, Bernard Duggan. We have seen inquiries on web postings regarding his whereabouts, or indeed even if he is still living. Individuals have noted buying his paintings during the 1970’s/1980’s time line. We learned that he moved from the southwest to the west coast, and seascapes done in oil seemed to replace the earlier desert scenes. Not much may be known about the artist, except through his works, which are well-known, displayed and sold especially in southwest galleries.

There is steel picture wire in place on the backside for wall mounting. There are no damage issues on this Bernard Duggan painting – it’s ready to go – a wonderful oil painting, Western style frame, and wire hanger. Hang this artful beauty on your wall, and you will be able to enjoy the mesmerizing desert scene over and over again.

Because of the overall size and value, this painting will strictly be shipped through UPS Ground Insured to customers within the U.S. only. For shipping quote, please email us with your shipping destination/zip code.

Standing 14 1/4 inches tall on a 3 1/2 x 4 inch base which resembles the cobblestone roads of ancient times, this David statue, inspired by Michelangelo’s David, portrays the Goliath slayer as muscular but relaxed and confident in his preparation for battle with the giant.

The finely detailed cast marble and resin statue has David holding his slingshot almost casually over his left shoulder, while his right hand grasps the stone weapon. His face looks serene, not anxious or tense with worry. Rather, the viewer senses David’s confidence in his ability to win out over Goliath.

This David statue has a trademark in a rectangle located on the backside of the tree trunk, just above the base. The mark reads, ART ESA. Well designed and crafted, the sculpture is in fine condition, and captures a sense of David’s strength and his resolve to defeat Goliath.  Inspired by the famous Botticelli painting of Venus which hangs in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy, this 13 1/4 inch tall marvelous Venus sculpture depicts the Roman goddess as arising out of the sea as a full-grown woman. Poised on the clam shell which was gently washed ashore on the waves of the Zephyr wind gods, the Venus statue is beautiful yet seemingly innocent even in her nudity.

The statuary is quite amazing in its fine details. Venus captivates the viewer with her lovely human form, even as she modestly attempts to cover her womanly features. Her long flowing hair and ringlets are marvelously sculpted and give the sense that the goddess has been gently tempest tossed from the ocean. The 4 1/2 inch wide clam shell, with lapping waves just beneath her feet, accentuate the Birth from the Sea theme.

Although there is no maker’s mark we can find on this Venus, we believe that the manufacturer may be ART ESA which is the marking we have on a similar cast marble and resin statue of David, purchased at the same estate sale. This Venus sculpture is in very fine condition and would be a quality display piece.  Handcrafted of Pearlite, a ferrous oxide and cementite mixture, this compelling and finely detailed native northwest tribal Indian and animal sculpture stands 14 1/2 inches tall on a 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch rectangular base. Sculptures made from Pearlite Stonecraft are more resistant to chipping or cracking than some resin compounds and readily accept color glazing.

We are not certain of the type of creature or animal depicted on this totem art. Perhaps it is a wolverine, with Mother-of Pearl insets for eyes. Wolverines are native to that area of Canada. They are muscular, strong animals known for their ferociousness in preying on animals more than twice their size.

Above the rectangular base is an image of a northwest tribal Indian or simply a mask representing a northwest tribal Indian. The sculpture is intriguing and appealing even though we do not know the story behind the artwork.

The statuary is substantial and hefty, weighing in at more than 8 1/2 pounds before packaging. If you appreciate multi-cultural, diverse artwork, this sculpture will speak to you. There are no cracks, chips, or nicks on this statue, but there is light scuffing to the smooth back surface. The gold foil label attached to the artwork reads, Pearlite, Handcrafted in Canada – Vancouver BC  The hoop of this dream catcher, which measures 21 1/2 inches in diameter, has been wrapped with animal fur. Suspended in the hoop frame by leather straps is an animal pelt, most likely that of a rabbit. This suspended pelt measures 12 inches across by 18 inches long.

What sets this dream catcher apart from many others is the marvelous handpainted design of the Navajo artist, Ann Irons Devine. On the bottom side of the pelt, she depicts an Eagle profile, superimposed with an eagle in flight on top. For native Americans, the eagle soars between heaven and earth and can lead individuals to a higher knowledge of the spiritual. How appropriate for the dream catcher to have this double eagle design! The eagle is of the earth, but can carry messages back and forth to the spirit world, perhaps also through our dreams.

Leather straps extend from the bottom portion of the dream catcher and are adorned with beading and feathers. From the top of the dream catcher to the bottom of the feathers is approximately 30 inches.

Ann Irons Devine is a well-respected Navajo artist whose varied works include oil portraits of Native American Indians, and painting on such diverse medium as bone. Here is a good opportunity to capture wonderful American Indian art, signed by the artist Ann Irons Devine.

Because of the overall dimensions of the dream catcher, the default shipping method will be through UPS ground to customers within the U.S. Please email us for a shipping quote.

Fine attention to detail is seen in this 1983 R. Watson pencil drawing of a floating oil rig, complete with derrick, tower and helicopter pad. Total hardwood framed size measures 13 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches with the glass covered print and matted area being 11 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.

Although we are unable to identify the name and location of this offshore oil platform, we do know that this is a quality crafted architectural rendering, ready for display in an office, den or study with picture wire attached to the backside. The artist, R. Watson has signed his name in pencil and dated his work, 07/83, at the bottom of the print.  Noted as one of the most innovative car photographers, Ron Kimball has been designing his car art prints for more than twenty-five years. The Porsche Speedster acrylic framed print we offer here measures 16 x 20 inches and makes use of those vibrant balloon colors and a background wall of paint splashes to accentuate that dynamic sleek car.

The Porsche print is in fine condition with the note that there are a few light speckle areas near the bottom towards the frame. It is difficult to say whether this is on the inside plastic cover or on the print itself. Please see our pictures.

Ron Kimball, 1993, and the copyright information attributed to Hamburger Press, a division of Pages, can be found at the bottom left. There is picture wire in place on the backside making this Porsche Speedster print ready for display.

The total size of the glass covered watercolor is 17 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches, and it features a Victorian, Painted Lady style house at 819 Eddy Street, San Francisco.

We obtained this lovely architectural print from a lady who had traveled to San Francisco in 1994, and attended a special gallery presentation of Ms. Patrick’s watercolors at which the artist signed the purchased 819 Eddy Street print.

The deep chocolate color matting complements the design and the composite frame with its wonderful scrolling treatment adds just the right Art Nouveau touch to Ms Patrick’s fine print.

We do note that there is a small crease in the print above the roof where the print leaves the matted area. This crease is really only noticed on close-up inspection, and most likely occurred during the framing process. The print has been secured with metal clip fasteners on the backside, and is covered in a velour fabric which does have some minor scuff marks, and this shows in our pictures.

Debbie Patrick’s architectural print of an elegant, restored San Francisco Painted Lady or Polychrome house would be a wonderful addition to a Victorian themed décor.
