ORIGINAL 16" x 20" ART WORK HAND DRAWN AND SIGNED MIXED MEDIA TITLED "WINTER COTTON PUFFS", by SUSAN MONAS FUNK 2005 <p>I am proud to say, I have known this very talented artist, for over 30 years. It is my pleasure to introduce and present her work, for the first time, to the worldwide NET audience. Look at the great detail and colors in this hand drawn, signed, mixed media original art work, by Susan Monas Funk. The artist was fascinated by an image of snow (that looked like cotton balls) falling on trees, thus her composition created with water color and pencil. This work of art, measures 16" x 20", and is professionally framed. Work by this great local artist is sure to appreciate in value. I will be listing many different, works by Susan, in several different medias. So please check my other auctions, to see more work by her. This great piece of Original Art, will make an AWSUM addition to any Art Collection.  Attributed to the mid to late Regency period (about ca 1820) this is a well executed bust silhouette of a gentleman facing right; painted in black watercolor or India ink on cream paper it is most likely of English (possibly American) origin; unsigned and framed in black oval Victorian era wood frame. 6.5x5x5" Beautiful, mottled, & multi hued, somewhat dichroic, glass vase done by glass master, John Nygren. This piece, subdued with silvery greys in artificial light, comes alive with brilliant almost iridescent blues & greens in the sunlight. John Nygren's work and career embody western NC's glass tradition. The rural NC landscape inspires his work and fuels his passion for ecology and the environment, themes which are reflected in the 30 years of work represented in the exhibition. His glass works range from landscape vessels, classic vase forms with delicately wrought natural elements, to whimsical frogs. After earning an MFA degree from the Cranbook Academy of Art, Nygren first trained in the art of glassblowing at NC's Penland School of Crafts in 1968. After the three-week workshop, he left with finished glass pieces, two which were juried into important exhibitions and a third which was purchased by Charlotte's Mint Museum. A year later he moved to Walnut Cove, NC, where he built the studio in which he still works. Though living in NC, Nygren's successful art career was firmly launched when he became a member of New York's newly formed Contemporary Art Glass Group (now the Heller Gallery) in 1973. Nygren's glass resides in the collections of corporations, universities and museums throughout the country, including the Smithsonian. Signed John Nygren and dated 1973.  One Of A Kind Item ~ well worth your time in Quality, Artistry, Uniqueness, and Age. This was located in a booklet stored away in an victorian scrapbook that contained various works of art. GUARANTEED OLD AND ORIGINAL ANTIQUE. A beautiful creation of handpainted flowers on a piece of deep red burgandy silk material. Measures 9-5/8 inches wide x 9 inches high. This exceptional artwork piece would look lovely in an old period frame. Lovely handpainted Pink Cosmos, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Astilbe, and tiny blue flowers. The artist application and design is so realistic, can see so many details, they seem life-like. Beautiful ONE-OF-A-KIND item. You can see one of my photos showing the back of the material and the paper backing from the booklet it was in. It is time for someone to proudly display this beauty. Coloring is exquisite. The lighthouse and rocks are made of wood and have a copper trim which has been burnished black. The background is painted white. The frame is made of a grey barnwood and the sides have been stained a grey/black color. The back of the art is marked by the artist name, Mary Ann Snedic Wunderlin and her address and also has a nice wire for hanging. This piece of art came from an artshow back in the early 80's. The art is in excellent condition except for several very, very small marks on the background, as pointed out in the pictures. This is a great artpiece!!!  GOOD CONDITION WITH A SMALL TEAR AND SOME LIGHT SOILING IN SPOTS. 11.50 X 9.50" OAK FRAME

25x19" Benjamin Levin 1926 Art Deco Paris cafe print. An absolutely gorgeous print, in rich detail. The women and men are dressed to the nines, sitting outside a Parisian cafe. Excellent condition.  73x43" Very old, possibly late 18th, early 19th century oil painting on canvas, of young Hebrew women, sharing water with a Jacob, as the shepherds watch in the background. Rachel seems to fancy this traveler, while her sister Leah looks on disdainfully. One friend seems to enjoy Rachel's delight, the other has an, (your asking for trouble look) & is ignoring it. The painting has been remounted on masonite board, is in excellent original condition, has no signature, possibly lost during the preservation. The frame is old, (not as) & has also been restored to fit the painting. Probably from an old Synagogue. I've included a closeup of the fabric to show you it's antiquity.  ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PRINT that happens to be a steel engraving print handcolored. Print is on heavier thicker stock paper. One of the nicer steel engravings we have found. This one has MORE coloring in the entire picture, than some engravings have. Beautiful picture with two Victorian beauties, out on the terrace, which over looks the beautiful blue ocean view beyond. One lady has a long pink satin gown, and the other has a white and gold chiffon gown, with her hat and parosol. Still maintains it's Vibrant coloring in this engraving. Measures 6 inches wide x 8 inches high. Has aged well, other than the paper yellowed slightly, it's in great shape for it's age. He even has the poplar long striped neck scarf that he wears in the series! The likeness is excellent, great details and expression. The drawing measures 14 x 11 inches, signed KB in lower right hand corner (artist is unknown) - (age of drawing is unknown - I have owned it for approximately 12 years). Currently placed in a wood frame with anti glare glass. Good+++ condition on frame and glass; good+++ condition on drawing no creases or holes; one tiny line mark stain on top edge near his hat; barely noticeable at all. 27x12x8", Carved marble of a semi nude mother and child. Very weird and strange mixture of human and animal. She appears to be part pussycat and reptile, has one muscular arm and one claw. The babe looking rear, appears alien. Acquired in the 70's, I've had this in storage over 20 years, and forgot about it until my sister asked me to get my "junk" our of her basement. It is signed J. DeCreeft. Jose Decreeft is best known for his alice in wonderland sculpture in central park, and The Poet, on the East River Dr. in Philadelphia. According to his widow, this is probably a students piece. He taught for 30 years. Still a great piece.  Unusual collage made with antique & vintage fabrics.
