HERE IS A VERY COLLECTIBLE AND RARE BAKELITE TYPE BOX MADE BY HICKOK, THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED MAKER OF MEN’S JEWELRY AND ACCESSORIES. THE MARBLEIZED PATTERN OF MINGLED COLORS RANGES FROM IVORY TO GREY AND BLACK. THE DESIGN IS VERY 3D WITH A RAISED IMAGE OF A BUCK DEER STAG BESIDE A STALLION HORSE ON TOP OF THE BOX. MADE IN U.S.A. ON BOTTOM OF BOX. EMBLEM LOGO AND HICKOK SIGNATURE ON INSIDE LID. EXCELLENT CLEAN CONDITION. NO CHIPS, STAINS, OR CRACKS. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 3 3/4 INCHES SQUARE BY 2 INCHES DEEP. CAN BE USED TO HOLD A VARIETY OF THINGS. A MUST FOR A COLLECTOR OF EARLY PLASTICS. AN IDEAL GIFT FOR AN OUTDOORSMAN WHO LIKES SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. SORRY THE PHOTOS ARE NOT VERY CLEAR. THIS IS MADE OF A STURDY PLASTIC, WHICH IS NOT ACTUALLY BAKELITE OR CELLULOID, BUT SO MANY PEOPLE USE THOSE TERMS IN THEIR SEARCH FOR OLDER PLASTIC THAT I FELT IT WOULD HELP SHOPPERS FIND THIS NICE PIECE OF MID-CENTURY HISTORY. MY BEST ESTIMATE OF ITS AGE IS 1940’S – 1950’S. KEYWORDS: BAKELITE, CATALIN, CATALYN, CELLULOID, ART DECO, ART MODERNE, RETRO, TRINKET BOX, MENS JEWELRY BOX, MENS ACCESSORY BOX, MENS VANITY BOX, MENS BELT BOX, MID-CENTURY MODERN, DEER, STAG, BUCK, HORSE, STALLION, HICKOK, NOT SPELLED HICKOCK.  This is a fabulous and rare set of six barware utensils with bakelite handles. The set is in wonderful condition. The box is in so-so condition, but it is the original box. The utensils measure from 6 to 11 inches in length. A wonderful gift for a bar or entertainment area in one's home - enjoy!  SEVERAL SELLERS ON EBAY ARE ASKING $75 FOR JUST 8 OF THESE HOLDERS, AND WE ARE OFFERING ALMOST DOUBLE THAT AMOUNT WITH A SET OF 15. BEING MADE OF BAKELITE, THIS IS NOT ONLY A SUPER COLLECTIBLE ITEM, BUT IT IS PRACTICAL TOO SINCE HOT CORN ON THE COB NEEDS SOME KIND OF HOLDER. THIS SET OF 15 PIECES WILL TAKE CARE OF 7 EARS OF CORN. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN FIND A SINGLE ONE OF THESE KNOBS ELSEWHERE TO MAKE UP A FULL SET FOR 8 PEOPLE. OR JUST THINK OF THE 15TH ONE AS A SPARE. THESE MIGHT BE CALLED CORN PRONGS, OR CORN FORKS ALSO, BUT WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL THEM, THEY ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS PRODUCT WAS MADE BY THE C. J. SCHNEIDER MANUFACTURING COMPANY OF TOLEDO, OHIO, MOST LIKELY IN THE 1930’S – 1940’S. THIS IS A VERY NICE VINTAGE BAKELITE SET SHOWING MINIMAL WEAR. I HAVE HAD GREEN CORN HOLDERS LIKE THESE IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOX IN THE PAST AND IT SAID, KOB KNOBS – THE CORRECT WAY TO SERVE SWEET CORN. SOME PHOTOS WERE TAKEN WITH A FLASH WHICH MAKES THE BAKELITE LOOK LIGHTER AND BRIGHTER THAN IT REALLY IS. THESE PIECES ARE THE TYPICAL MEDIUM TO SLIGHTLY DARKER RED OF BAKELITE WHICH HAS AGED FOR 70 YEARS.  Collection of steel cake cutter, meat fork and can/bottle with black plastic handles which may be Bakelite. I am not sure if it is Bakelite so I priced it low. They are all in excellent condition except there is a small fracture in the handle end of the can/bottle opener. Set of Bakelite or Catlin 6 knives and knife sharpener set with 6 steak knives and a knife sharpener. They are all in the marbled brown color in the handle. The handles are made of Bakelite or Catlin. The knives are more Catlin and the sharpener more Bakelite because of the density and klunk affect for the handle. The metal portions are stainless steel and marked as so. They are in excellent condition. 2008pdp286  Pair of Bakelite shower curtain holders with box. I think these are shower curtain holders. The box has circa 1950s type applied tissue paper to card board box decorated with baby and toy images. The bakelite pieces are decorated with hand painted roses and leaves. These have the bakelite CLUNK that is always inquired. 07pdp386  Vintage c.1920s-30s Art Deco Egyptian cartouche wall decoration, brass with black bakelite. Popular style when King Tut's tomb was originally discovered in the 1920's. No maker's marks. Not a modern reproduction. 10 in.high x 4 in.wide. Brass has lovely natural patina with a few spots of dampness corrosion(see photos)showing a high copper content used in older brass items. Bakelite has some tiny edge fleabite nicks, and some very light scratches, which are not too noticeable. It does have some warping that doesn't detract from its appearance. An unusual piece for any Art Deco decor!  12 Celluloid Toy Set Vintage 1930s Old Plastic Antique. Celluloid Party Favor Nut Cup Baskets Set of 12 Vintage in Box. These little cuties are from the 1920s or 1930s. Basket measures about 2.5 inches diameter, is about 1 inch high, and about 2.25 inches to the top of handle. There are twelve baskets, but one handle has the hook end broken off, so 11 are usable with handles, or 12 could be used without handles. They are the customary creamy color with pink upper .25 inch edges. These are really unique. I could not find them in books. If you collect celluloid, you need these. They would make cute little Easter basket party favors. Great addition to a vintage Plastics collection. NOTE: This product is a collectible item not intended for use by children under age 12. 12 Celluloid Toy Set Vintage 1930s Old P $25.00
Server with Bakelite or Catlin handles. 10 ½ inches long, blade on one edge and curved on the other edge, good condition, 1998 BV=$25.00 to 30.00 each. L135x17. (s1)  Bakelite 10 inch long Cake Cutter. Has a red Bakelite handle, some age discolorations (1998 BV=15.00 to 20.00). L104x14. (s5)  Bakelite handle Kitchen Grater - made in Sweden - stainless steel - perfect condition. L3x7.  This very substantial, showy, Silent Butler measures 7 5/8" x 5 1/4" and has a 5 1/4" handle. The handle and 1/4" thick cover are made from Bakelite that has aged into a rich, deep, butterscotch color that beautifully matches the golden bronze finish on the metal parts. It has a distinctly Deco design, and looks like it dates from the 40's or 50's. It's in excellent condition and the impressive lid is perfect.
