The design was inspired by the Rennie Macckintosh designs and features a tubelined, stylised Rose.

The item is in absoultely wonderful condition for its age with no cracks, chios or restoration and beautiful decoration with no apprent age crazing. However, as seen in the photographs, there seems to have been some grinding to adjacent sides of the base, possibly to remove excess clays from production, so I have chosen to mention and photograph these, although they are not particularly evident when the item is displayed.

I have also reduced the selling price, accordingley.

Wonderful and extremely rare Morrisware Vase designed by George Cartlidge whilst working for the Sampson Hancock factory between 1918-26.

Cartlidge's designs of tubelined, Naturalistic flowers, and very much in an Arts and Crafts style, are well reflected in this piece which is adorned by three Tulips around the whole 360 degrees of the Vase.

Condition:

On receiving this vase it had a very small 1/4 of an inch hairline at the rim which appeared very much like a crazing line, but could be felt with the finger. I have since had this hairlined sealed by a local, Staffordshire restorer and it is no longer visible.

As such the Vase is to all intents and purposes appears in excellent condition with no further damage and only minor, age associated crazing.

The restoration, although excellent, is reflected in the price of a very valuable and collectable item.

Dimensions:

7.75 inches tall.

3.5 inches diameter at base.

MAXIMUM Air mail shipping of $25.00 dependant on destination. Tracking and insurance for LOSS or NON-DELIVERY is available for a further $10.00.  Miniature Squat Jug Art Pottery Pitcher of unknown manufacture but I would hazard a guess at being from the early 1900s because of it's shape and form.

The pattern is on of hand painted, stylised floral design, similar to those of Royal Stanley, Decoro and Samson Hancock and not too dissimilar from the Intarsio styles of glaze of Frederick Rhead and his times at Wileman/Shelley.

The style, both of pattern and shape, is very reminiscent of Arts and Crafts and Art nouveau influence.

Standing just 2.1/4 inches tall, and with a width of 2.3/4 inches, the item is a lovely exmple of this type of ware and a delightful little addition for a cabinet or collection.

Condition, save for some expected and very minimal crazing, is EXCELLENT.

Marked to the base, which is unglazed, with only the number 4, I really wish I could tell you more about this delightful little Jug.

Maximum shipping of $10.00-12.00 dependant on destination. Optional Tracking and Insurance for Loss and Non-Delivery available for a further $8.00.  This is simply Breathtaking. Not just in the hand painted colours and design but also condition which belies it's manufacture in the 1930s shortly before the factory's closure.

The item is from their Royal Stanley range and dates to c1903-1919 when the company produced the range as competition for the better known William Moorcroft designs. In fact, Such pieces were often referred to as Poor Man's Moorcroft.

Beautiful Tube lined and entirely hand painted Fruits and foliage cover the entire vase which stands at 7.1/4 inches tall x 4 inches at the widest point. The Vase is of wonderful shape with an elegant flared neck and bulbous base.

Colours are Typical of this Art pottery period with Cobalt Blues, Purples, Ochres and Greens reminiscent of Pottery of the Art Deco period all lovingly decorated on the solid, Red Clay ware.

The Condition is absolutely wonderful and I can find no evidence of cracks, chips, repairs or ware to pattern and even no real signs of the usual age related crazing.

It really is a SUPERB example for a piece of this age. The base of the vase has also been glazed over with Cobalt colour and the Royal Stanley Backstamp for 1903-1919 is present as shown in the must see extra photos.

Stunning Wood and Sons, Burslem, Staffordshire Cosy Pot with Slipper lid in the Red Chung design by Frederick Rhead.

The design was produced during his time as Art Director at the Burslem factory an dates to around the 1920s.

The original Chung was a blue and White transfer pattern but this much rarer Red variety has most of the plainer background infilled with bold hand painted strokes to add a wonderful plash of colour against the Dark Blue designs.

Condition - The pot and lid are in Excellent condition with no cracks and chips. There is, however, a small professional repair to a 4mmm surface chip to the spout and I have shown a close up of the area in one of the photos.

To all intents and puposes this repair is very professionally done and does not show but I mention it for accuracy.

The item stands at approximately 7 inches tall to the tip of the spout and as such is one of the larger sizes of the uniquely styled Cosy Pot which was marketed as the Ultimate Tea or Coffee Pot because of the uniquely locking lid.

George Clews Chameleon Ware Pot $90.00

Royal Stanley Jacobean Ware was produced by Colclough & Co from my home town of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. This particular vase carries the backstamp for the period 1919-1928 and so the condition of this vase belies it's age. The ware was often described as "poor man's Moorcroft" due to it's rich cobalt glaze and hand painted fruits and floral designs and it's easy to see why. Jacobean ware is now highly collectable and sought after in it's own right and this impressive, almost 6.1/4" tall and 4" widest point Vase is a superb example in truly wonderful condition although for strict accuracy there are a few miniscule scratches to the pattern here and there. GORGEOUS.  Absolutely Fabulous Art Deco Basket designed and produced for Royal Cauldon by Edith Gater.
