Dave Brubeck autograph on b/w photo (SAC, Sutton Artist Corporation ).

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Fine condition.

Dave Brubeck, a Jazz legend, was born in 1920 and became famous as composer and pianist.

He founded the Dave Brubeck Octet in 1949. Jamming with musicians like bassist Eugene Wright, drummer Joe Morello and saxophonist Paul Desmond became his legendary Dave Brubeck Quartett.

"Take Five" and "Blue Rondo a la Turk" became their best known pieces. The quartett existed till 1967.

During the last 20 years he has organized several new quartets. Brubeck even performed at the White House in 1964 and in 1981. In 1988 he performed in Moscow, honouring the Michail Gorbachov. He received four honorary degrees, the BMI Jazz Pioneer Award, and the 1988 American Eagle Award presented by the National Music Council.

Juliette Greco Autograph on Philips promotion photo postcard ( photo by Farabola, Milan / Italy ).

Discography at back.

Size: 3.5 x 5.5, small glue remnants at the corners of the back side otherwise fine condition.

Juliette Gréco ( born 1927 ) came to be one of the stars of the bohemian "in" crowd of post-war France. She encapsulated the disenchantment and poverty of the French intellectuals following World War Two in her person. She dressed in all black and let her long black hair hang free, creating an Ophelia-like look of having just drowned.

A famous description of Juliette Gréco is that her voice "encompasses millions of poems". She was the muse of many of the writers and artists working in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Boris Vian. Some of these artists would write songs for her to sing.

She fell in love with and almost married Miles Davis when he visited Paris in 1949.

Joe Cocker, autograph from the early 70s.

Size: 8 x 10 inches.

Small faults at back from gluing in an album

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Joe Cocker is one of rock and roll's enduring performers who has survived the sixties, a low period in the seventies, made a comeback in the eighties, and continues to be a solid and consistent performer in the nineties. His gutsy, gravely, vocal style and unique stage presence make him one of the most dynamic singers in the music industry.

His first great hit was his version of the Beatles song "With a Little Help From My Friends". This album featured guest performers Jimmy Page, Steve Winwood and Matthew Fischer. it became a major highlight of the Woodstock Festival in 1969, and surpasses the original recording by the Beatles. After touring the states, he recorded the album, "Joe Cocker!," produced by Leon Russell and Denny Cordell.

His "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour produced an album and a movie detailing the zaniness and the circus-like atmosphere of the forty three person entourage. After this endeavor, Cocker was physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and in trouble legally and financially. He went into seclusion, traveling in his van around England, making an attempt to find himself again.

In the ensuing years, 1971 - 1974, there were numerous reports of alcohol and drug abuse. His episodes of public drunkenness were as well known as his talents, and the music industry mavens had written Cocker off as "washed up, an early burn-out."

In 1995, A&M Records released "The Long Voyage Home," a four CD box-set with material, some previously unreleased, that encompasses the highlights of Joe's career. Joe Cocker's ability to take a song, rework it from his soul and make it entirely his own is a talent that few performers in the music industry have. His career has been full of ups and downs but he continues to be one of rock music's strongest assets.

The Hollies: Polydor Promotion Postcard for " Another Night ".

Signed by :

Tony Hicks ( guitar, vocals )

Bobby Elliot ( drums )

Allen Clarke ( guitar, vocals )

Bernie Calvert ( bass ).

By 1965 The Hollies were established as one of Britain's pre-eminent singles bands, and they enjoyed huge chart success in many countries in the mid-Sixties, releasing a string of classic harmony-pop hits including "Bus Stop", "I'm Alive", "Stop, Stop Stop", "Carrie Anne", "On A Carousel" and "Look Through Any Window". Drummer Bobby Elliot is also considered by many to be one of England's best drummers; together with longtime bassist Bernie Calvert, the Hollies enjoyed a solid, almost jazz-oriented backbeat. Tony Hicks and Graham Nash shared the guitar spotlight, while frontman Allan Clarke sang in his distinctive nasal tenor.

Irene Dunne autograph on a paper snippet ( Czech magazine ) pastes on cardboard.

Size: 4 x 5.9

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

After her Broadway debut in 1923, Dunne was able to secure leading roles in several musicals. In 1929, Dunne was cast as Magnolia in the Chicago company production of Show Boat. In Ann Vickers (1933), she plays a lady doctor who undergoes an illegal abortion, and in The Age of Innocence (1934), Dunne played the same role reprised by Michelle Pfeiffer in the 1994 remake of that film. Dunne was finally permitted to show off her singing talents in Sweet Adeline (1935), and in 1936 Universal Pictures cast her in her stage role as Magnolia in the studio's definitive film version of Show Boat (1936).

After Show Boat, Dunne entered the second phase of her movie career as a comedienne, contributing hilarious performances to such screwball farces as Theodora Goes Wild (1936), The Awful Truth (1937), and My Favorite Wife (1940). It was back to dramatic roles in the early 1940s, and as age crept up on Dunne, she made a seamless transition to starring character roles in such films as Anna and the King of Siam (1946) and Life with Father (1947).

Upon completion of It Grows on Trees (1952), Dunne retired from films.

Lana Turner autograph on card. 3.5 x 5.5 cardboard, magazine image, authentic signature Lana Turner.

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

One of the most glamorous superstars of Hollywood's golden era, Lana Turner was born in 1921, in Wallace, ID. At the age of 15, while cutting school, she was spotted by Hollywood Reporter and enchanted by her beauty, he escorted her to the offices of the Zeppo Marx Agency, resulting in a bit part in 1937's A Star Is Born. She won her first lead role in the 1939 B-comedy These Glamour Girls. Dancing Co-Ed, a vehicle for bandleader Artie Shaw, followed that same year, and after starring in 1940's Two Girls on Broadway, she and Shaw married.

Turner was touted by MGM as a successor to Jean Harlow. She became a popular pin-up, especially with American soldiers fighting overseas. In 1941 she starred opposite Clark Gable in Honky Tonk, her first major hit. They again teamed in Somewhere I'll Find You the next year.

Upon returning in 1944's Marriage Is a Private Affair, Turner's stardom slowly began to grow, culminating in her most sultry and effective turn to date as a femme fatale in 1946's The Postman Always Rings Twice.

Her final film, Witches' Brew, a semi-comic remake of the 1944 horror classic Weird Woman, was shot in 1978 but not widely released until 1985. In 1982, she published an autobiography, Lana: The Lady, the Legend, the Truth, and also began a stint as a semi-regular on the TV soap opera Falcon Crest.

After spending the majority of her final decade in retirement, Lana Turner died June 29, 1995, at the age of 74.

Senta Berger autograph from the early 70s on a 5.8 x 4.1 in photo.

Signed with light green pen, slightly faint, fine condition.

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Austrian actress Senta Berger was born while Vienna was under siege.

It is said that Senta Berger won her first English-language role in The Secret Ways (1961) when star Richard Widmark spotted her riding a bicycle. Most American film fans first saw the sensuous Senta Berger on, of all places, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, in that 1963 TV series' two-parter "The Waltz King."

Though an actress of more than average talent, Senta was regarded as just another European sex bomb by most Hollywood publicity flacks.  Old Ross photo postcard of the young Sue Carol. Early autograph with blue pen.

5 stains from album at back otherwise fine condition.

The autograph comes wit a Certificate of Authenticity.

American actress Sue Carol was born Evelyn Lederer to a wealthy Chicago family. Because of her social prominence, she was exceptionally well-treated in Hollywood where she landed leading roles in films during the late '20s and early '30s.

She usually played exuberant flappers. Following her marriage to actor Nick Stuart, she retired. She later became a talent agent, and discovered Alan Ladd, the actor who became her fourth husband in 1942.

b/w photograph showing Claudette Colbert in furs, standing in a doorway ( Still from “ I Met Him in Paris “. ( Issued by Pomegranate Publications ).

Size of the photo print: 4 x 6 inches.

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

A second photo is unsigned. It is from the 1960s and has been issued by Ross. ( 3.5 x 5.5 inches )

Both are in good condition.

Colbert was a French actress 1903-96 .

Claudette's popularity skyrocketed after she was cast as "the wickedest woman in history," Nero's unscrupulous wife Poppaea, in the Biblical epic The Sign of the Cross (1932). She expanded her range as a street-smart smuggler's daughter in I Cover the Waterfront and in the pioneering screwball comedy Three-Cornered Moon (both 1933)

Virtually every other actress in Hollywood had turned down the role of spoiled heiress Ellie Andrews in Columbia's It Happened One Night (1934), and when director Frank Capra approached an unenthusiastic Colbert, she wearily agreed to appear in the film on the conditions that she be paid twice her normal salary and that the film be completed before she was scheduled to go on vacation in four weeks. Colbert considered the experience one of the worst in her life -- until the 1935 Academy Awards ceremony, in which It Happened One Night won in virtually all major categories, including a Best Actress Oscar for her.

Dorothy Lamour Autograph: Attractive photo of the young Lamour signed “ Best Wishes – Dorothy Lamour “ in orange.

4 in. x 5.8 in clear autograph. A Certificate of Authenticity comes with the lot.

American actress/singer Dorothy Lamour became vocalist for the Herbie Kay Band in 1931. That was just prior to her film debut. Lamour built up a solid reputation as a radio singer, notably on the 1934 series Dreamer of Songs. Paramount Pictures signed Lamour to a contract. Her most famous movies were:

1936 in Jungle Princess (1936), The Hurricane (1937), in St. Louis Blues (1939), she co-starred in Road to Singapore (1940), the first of six "Road" pictures teaming Lamour with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.

Very popular with the troops during World War II, Lamour gave selflessly of her time and talent in camp tours, USO shows and bond drives throughout the early 1940s. Between 1952 and 1962, during which time she developed a popular nightclub act, she returned to films for Hope and Crosby's Road to Hong Kong (1962), and in the 1960s and 1970s, Lamour was one of several veteran actresses to star in Hello Dolly, and spent much of her time in regional productions of such straight plays as Barefoot in the Park.

Dorothy Lamour passed away aged 81.

This wonderful piece of history is from a Chicago estate but it is apparent that the family once lived / visited New York City, New York.

The stationary/letterhead has the address 1139 TOWER ROAD, BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA at the top.

The letter is dated April 25, 1952 and is signed ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN.

It reads:

Dear....It gives me particular pleasure to send a photograph of mine to you, one of my really loyal and sympathetic listeners. Your presence at any concert of mine gives me always a moral lift, as I feel sure that at least one person listens with all her heart to my playing.

I have had no time yet to read the book you were kind enough to give me, but this summer I promise I am going to read it.

Also let me thank you for your sweet and generous gift for the Chopin Fund.

Yours always, cordially,

Arthur Rubinstein

ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN cared about his fans just as much as they cared about him and his music.

More information about the letter:

What also makes this letter even more interesting is that when this letter was typed the letter is missing in the spelling of two of the words. Mr. Rubinstein may have proof-read the letter and marked in the missing i's. It appears to us that the same pen was used for the signature and the two missing letter i's.

The CONDITION of the PAPER is GOOD.

The PAPER is thin/onion skin is slightly dry but not brittle and has discoloration.

Interestingly enough when the letter is raised up to the light there are words that are super-imposed on the stationary that read: BROADWAY TRUST BOND (there are some other letters also but we cannot decipher them at this time).

Unfortunately, we do not have the PHOTOGRAPH that the letter is referring to but we do have the ORIGINAL WRITTEN/STAMPED/POSTMARKED

ENVELOPE that the letter was mailed in.

A BIT OF INFORMATION ABOUT MR. RUBINSTEIN: ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN is considered one of the greatest concert pianists of the 20th century for his lyricism, dashing technique and distinctive-golden tone.

7.5 x 5 inches color photo with a clear autograph. Certificate of Authenticity.

Cameron Michelle Diaz (born August 30, 1972) is an American film actress.

Diaz was born and raised in San Diego, California. Her father is from Cuba. After pursuing a modelling career, she was cast in the commercially successful 1994 Jim Carrey film The Mask. Her role was minimal and essentially embodied the stereotypical "pretty blonde girl" that is oft to be found in cinema.

However, she subsequently took roles in films with more substantial subject matter such as Feeling Minnesota. She stood out as a "perfect" fiance in the romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) and many consider her role in the crude comedy There's Something About Mary (1998) to be her real break-through performance.

Diaz then veered away from mainstream cinema into independent film with the quirky Being John Malkovich (1999) and Oliver Stone took risks when he gave her a role in Any Given Sunday (1999).

Both films enjoyed critical and commercial success and critics heralded Diaz's performances.

Diaz is widely considered to be an extremely attractive woman, and as such has been listed in "sexiest" and "most beautiful" lists in various periodicals including FHM and People.

In 2004 an old S&M video, where Diaz appeared when she was 19 years old, was leaked out on the Internet. The video was a recording of a S&M photo session with Diaz and another girl torturing a man. Diaz has filed a suit against the Russian Internet site distributing the video, but this has attracted enough attention to this obscure video to temporarily make it very popular on the Net. The file is now distributed by many porn sites and can be downloaded from any major P2P network. The director of the video has denied any involvement.

4 in. x 5.8 in. color postcard from Germany depicting the young Jayne Mansfield.

It has been signed in blue ink. The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Fine condition.

Mansfield became the first major actress to appear nude on-screen.

It was difficult for Mansfield, whose measurements were 40-21-35, not to gain attention in her subsequent TV and film works. More famous as a cheesecake model than an actress, by 1955 Mansfield first gained critical plaudits for her classic performance as a Monroe-like movie starlet in George Axelrod's Broadway play Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter. This role won her a contract at 20th Century Fox, where she fell within the sphere of comedy director Frank Tashlin, who regarded Mansfield as a "living cartoon" and directed her accordingly in the film version of Rock Hunter and in 1956's The Girl Can't Help It. Despite good dramatic performances in such films as The Wayward Bus (1957), Kiss Them for Me (1957), and The Burglar (1957), Mansfield was forever typed as a parody Marilyn Monroe.

While driving to a club engagement in New Orleans, 34-year-old Jayne Mansfield was killed (but not decapitated, contrary to popular belief) in an automobile accident.

Pearson expresses sentiment for support of his views.

Drew Pearson (1897-1969) was Washington correspondent of the Baltimore Sun. Three years later he joined the Scripps-Howard syndicate, United Features. His Merry-Go-Round column was published in newspapers all over the United States.

Pearson was a strong supporter of Franklin D. Roosevelt and his New Deal program. He also upset more conservative editors when he advocated United States involvement in the struggle against fascism in Europe. Pearson's articles were often censored and so in 1941 he switched to the more liberal The Washington Post.

During the Second World War Pearson became a radio broadcaster. He soon became one of America's most popular radio personalities. After the war he was an enthusiastic supporter of the United Nations and helped to organize the Friendship Train project in 1947. The train travelled coast-to-coast collecting gifts of food for those people in Europe still suffering from the consequences of the war.

In 1949 Pearson criticised the Secretary of Defence, James Forrestal, for his conservative views on foreign policy. Pearson also suggested that Forrestal was guilty of corruption. Pearson was blamed when Forrestal committed suicide on 22nd May 1949.

In the early 1950s Pearson was one of the few journalists to stand up against Joe McCarthy. Along with George Seldes, I. F. Stone, Walter Lippmann, Jack Anderson and Herb Block Pearson played an important role in McCarthy's downfall.

7 x 5 inches b/w photo from the ORF, an Austrian TV sender. Scene from the movie “Per Salto Mord”, with David Janssen and Elke Sommer, Sommer autograph at front. Clean, fine condition.

Elke Sommer, daughter of a Lutheran minister, attended college in Germany, originally planning to be a diplomatic translator. She started a modeling career, which led to her German movie debut in Das Totenschiff (1959). Femmine di Lusso (1959) followed and, in the process, Sommer was able to master yet another language. Along with several other European actresses, Sommer received her first international break in The Victors (1963); the fact that she shot her scenes twice -- once in the nude -- was good for plenty of press coverage in the U.S.

A film with Paul Newman in The Prize (1963) and Peter Seller in A Shot in the Dark (1964) followed., Sommer got married to the writer Joe Hyams. Her subsequent film career had ups and downs but Sommer, now fluentlyspeking 7 languages, remained popular on the international show business scene, especially TV talk shows. Elke Sommer's latest appearances included a guest shot in the American TV series St. Elsewhere and a supporting part in the 1992 film Severed Ties.

3,5 ’ x 2,5 ‘ card with authentic Constance Cummings autograph “ To Liliane with all good wishes from Constance Cummings “. Fine condition.

Constance Cummings was brought to Hollywood by Sam Goldwyn for the Ronald Colman vehicle The Devil to Pay and satred in Howard Hawks' prison picture The Criminal Code (1931). Benn Levy in 1933, Constance moved to England, where she remained for the rest of her career.

Constance starred in the London production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and appeared opposite Laurence Olivier in Long Day's Journey Into Night. Constance Cummings was honored with the Order of the British Empire in 1974, and in 1979 she won a "Best Actress" Tony for her Broadway performance in Arthur Kopit's Wings.

6’ x 3,5’ papaer. Autograph “ With Compliments Joan Sims ”. Fine condition. Certificate of authenticity included.

Mischievous blonde British actress Joan Sims spent most of her formative film days playing cameo roles as brash cockneys. Often her characters had cultural pretensions, making her East End accent all the more amusing.

Sims came to films from the stage and television in the early '50s. As her roles increased in size, so did her waistline, allowing her to play a wider variety (no pun intended) of comedy character parts. She joined up with the Looney Carry On gang in 1960, remaining with the troupe for all but five of its films.

She remained a regular with the comedy aggregation right through its tawdriest days in such non-epics as Carry on Emmanuelle (1978). When the Carry-On'ers packed it in after this film, so did Joan Sims, who for all her chumminess on camera was in reality a lonely and retiring person.

The daughter of a cellist with the New York Symphony, Rose Hobart's first brush with the arts was a model for several Woodstock-based artists like George Bellows. Splitting her time with her divorced parents, Hobart was educated in boarding schools all over the country. At 15, she began her stage career as a performer in the Chautaqua tent-show circuit.

During the 1920s, she appeared on stage with such notables as Eva Le Gallienne, Noel Coward and Ina Claire; in 1929, she replaced Katharine Hepburn in the first Broadway staging of Death Takes a Holiday. She came to films in 1930, once again as a replacement, this time for Janet Gaynor in Frank Borzage's production of Liliom. Many of her leading lady roles were decorative but colorless (e.g. the "good" girl in 1931's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde); she became a much more fascinating screen presence when she began portraying spiteful other women, castrating wives and subtle villainesses.

After 1949's Bride of Vengeance, Rose Hobart was involuntarily retired from films, the victim of the Hollywood blacklist; she spent the rest of her professional life as an acting counselor, and in 1995 -- at the age of 88 -- published her memoirs, A Steady Digression to a Fixed Point. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

B / w photo print of pretty Hollywood star Joan Lesie. 4 x 6 . Small surface fault.  Lovely photo of Nancy Olson. 5 x 7 inches, fine condition.  Marty Allen Autograph, Steve Rossi Autograph, a black & white autographed photo of the two performers together, 8 1/8 x 9 1/8 inches, clearly autographed by each separately near their images, 'Best regards - Steve Rossi' and 'To Lew Best always Marty Allen' in blue ball-point pen. Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). While in overall good condition, the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas (which along the bottom margin has left a very thin white margin), there are some creases on photo (from handling) and some dirt or spotting. Marty Allen autographed photo; Steve Rossi autographed photo.

Barbara Rush Autograph, a black & white 8 x 10 1/8 inches autographed photo, clearly autographed 'To Lou - With Love, Babs Rush' in blue ball-point ink in bottom left (this is too light to be seen well in image but it is there). Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). While in overall good condition, the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas (with some a bit jagged), there is light dirt on the photo at the back of her neck, and there are some creases or wrinkling on photo (from handling).  Jonathan Winters Autograph, a black & white autographed photo 8 3/16 x 10 inches, which is particularly fun since it shows Winters holding up two masks which each have his face either smiling or frowning (like the traditional theatre mask symbols). Clearly autographed in blue ball-point pen, 'To Lou when they lay me out you be sure my suit ain't wrinkled Jonathan Winters'. Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). Unfortunately, the top of piece has a tear 3/4 inch long which goes into top of photo itself by 1/2 inch with creasing around the tear. The edges have been trimmed in the margin areas, and there are some other creasing or dirt on photo (rest not bad). Still an interesting & different piece.  Andre Kostelanetz Autograph, a black & white 8 x 10 1/8 inches autographed photo, clearly autographed 'For Louis Atella with best wishes - Andre Kostelanetz' (the individual letters in his name can be hard to make out but it looks like this overall). Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). Unfortunately, the photo has a big vertical crease which goes down his face (does not effect signed words which are on bottom left). There is some other handling creasing on photo and a little dirt (not bad), and the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas. Still a good signature of this famous musician.  Gig Young Autograph, a black & white autographed photo 8 x 10 1/4 inches, autographed in black in the upper left corner, 'To my Friend Lou Gig Young'. This must have been written with a black crayon-type instrument because some of the letters show significant wear, fading or rubbing-off. This is obvious in the 'm' in 'my', the 'L' in 'Lou', and in the name 'Gig' much of the capital 'G' has faded (although still legible), and to a much lesser extent the 'ig'. However, you can still read & recognize that it was signed by Gig Young. Photo was purchased as part of a collection which the owner glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). You can see that the photo was cut in the white margin areas leaving some non-straight edges. The photo itself shows some light 'browning' or aging, and in the lower right corner in the photo negative are the numbers 'C1729-68'. There is some surface soiling & margin edge creasing, but a nice overall piece.
