IF INTERESTED, HERE IS WHAT I FOUND ON THIS COMPANY!

Charles Fuhrmann came to Curaçao as a young man in 1929 to escape persecution and seek his fortune. Almost immediately he met and began working with Wolf Spritzer, a Jewish watchmaker from Hungary who had arrived on the island two years earlier. Spritzer's small workshop was no more than a tiny room in the offices of a successful local ship chandler, with separate spaces for watch repair and jewelry making. As business grew in the 1930s they opened a second shop on Curaçao; the island's first modern jewelry store, it had an expanded selection of merchandise showcased in elegant displays. Soon they also added an optical department. World War II boosted their business; US and European servicemen stationed on both islands were an eager and captive clients, as were the crews of the many vessels that called. It was after the war that Spritzer & Fuhrmann became an international symbol for quality shopping on Curaçao. The store found a ready clientele in the thousands of US cruise ship passengers that began visiting the island in the 1950s and 60s; a full 90% of the store's sales occurred during the cruise high season, December through April. A boutique was even opened in midtown Manhattan, New York, just off Fifth Avenue, where items purchased at any of the Caribbean affiliates were repaired free of charge.  Stamped DENMARK, circa early to mid 1900s, wonderful raised relief scene of a village motif, good condition, I have a few of these and one is very darkened and oxidized, the other 2 are bright, this is for ONE of those, your pick. Each one is about 4.5" long and a beveled mirror that is about 2 5/8" diamater.  Early 1900s, nearly 7" long, wooden handle, dark wood, metal hook, oxidation, used not abused, good look.

VINTAGE CHERRY? WOD VELVET LINED LARGE J $75.00

From my own collection, Victorian era, milk glass faint pink hue, gold decoration worn but still somewhat present, jar dates to about the late 100s to early 1900s, perhaps early Edwardian period, about 3" high, nearly 4" at its widest diameter.

Original, very good vintage condition, inside lip of lid and jar both have some nicks but nothing detracting or devaluing. I have heard this called custard glass. Unsure if it is milk or custard. Sold as found, ver nice dresser jar.  From my private collection, circa 1890s-1910, 9.25" long by 5" wide. Made of some kind of unusual composition material which has a wooden texturized appearance. Original round beveled mirror. Small sterling silver raised relief on the back of an art nouveau Gibson girl style woman's head.

Good condition, age wear as would be expected. Sterling piece is dark with patina and sold as found. Mirror shows some wear but is original and still functional. Photos should tell the story. Very unusual and interesting piece for your vanity.  From my private collection, hand made tooled pyrography wooden Victorian period piece, late 1800s to early 1900s, extra long and unusual glove box. Dark stained wood, measures about 21" long and 5" deep and 3 1/4" tall. Hinged with two little metal hook closures. All original, great condition, hardware is darkened with patina, lovely hand tooled grape cluster and grape leaves motif. Very good vintage condition.  Circa 1890s, from the famous Candler estate (founder of Coca Cola) in Atlanta GA, box weighs about 57 grams of stamped sterling silver. Apprx 2 7/8" high and 2 1/4" diameter. Stamped on the bottom sterling silver, plus it has a hallmark that looks like an ax or hatchett, and it has the number 194. A helpful TIAS patron just informed me that this is a piece by Kerr! Thanks to such a generous and helpful person!

Box is stunning. Top of it is designed with a raised relief embossed design of a full figure of a woman, Gibson Girl era and style with flowers and swirl in classic art nouveau style.

This is the calibre of Unger Brothers sterling as well as of Kerr. Box has a tight fitting lid and would be great on a dresser with other silver pieces.

Very good vintage condition, minimal wear and only a couple very minor and subtle pings. Nothing detracting or devaluing. Sold unpolished with darkened patina. RARE, Brilliant!

Vintage Silhouette Jewelry Box Cedar Che $12.99

From my personal collection, all pieces are American hallmarks, sterling silver, plus a maker's mark that looks like a shield and an "S". All pieces are numbered also. Circa 1880s or so. One long brush and two shorter oval brushes. Sterling silver tops mounted to wooden bases with original bristles. Long brush is about 7" long and 2" wide, oval brushes are each about 5" by 3 1/2".

All are in good vintage condition with minimal wear, Monograms look like "EMC". Sold unpolished, splendid patina, lovely set, bristles are somewhat worn on the two msall oval brushes, but still quite nice and collectible.  Lovely authentic art nouveau period sterling silver handled nail file, circa late 1800s to early 1900s. 5.25" long with raised floral design on all sides. Stamped "STERLING" in raised lettering, Edwardian script style intials "KTW"? on one side. Probably one piece of a dresser or vanity set. Would be great displayed with Unger brothers pieces and other dresser pieces like manicure sets, rouge pots, and powder jars. Very good condition, nice patina, minimal and gentle wear.   Quaint little early 1900s natural wicker or straw hinged box, about 4 1/4" by 2 1/4", cool purple ribbon bow, hand decorated and painted on top HAIR PINS.

Unusual and in very good vintage condition.  This is absoulutely stunning! Unmarked, this silver plate antique box appears to date to the early 1900s. Ornate and decorated, the hinged dresser box measures about 9 3/4" wide, nearly 8" deep, and approximately 2 3/4" high. It would be a great jewelry casket if desired, as well as serving many other uses.

The oval box is adorned with decoration as a raised relief scenic design which covers the top and sides. It appears to be a tavern scene and European in origin. It may be Dutch, though I am unsure. I welcome any information that you may care to share with me!

The tavern scene shows jovial couples drinking and sitting and dancing. One person appears to be playing a musical instrument, perhaps a bagpipe? Is this Scottish maybe? One patron at this bar is passed out, sleeping on a barrel.

In good condition, the box opens and closes easily and securely. At some point, it seems someone painted the box on the sides in gold, though it does not detract, in my opinion. The lid is silver, however. If desired, the gold finish could be easily removed with a mild paint remover. Personally, I'd leave it as it is. The only other apology to be made is a very minute area around the back of the top with VERY minimal splitting...this is NO WAY is noticeable and is only mentioned for the sake of thoroughness. The box is free of any damage or repair otherwise and just as it is it is a stunning and impressive Victorian box worthy of placement in the most discriminating of collections!
