A great gem to add to your vintage purse collection – a clam shell purse with its original owners name on front, above a line of floral decoration.  Each purse was a "one of a kind" work of art; hand- crafted with elaborate brass hardware, the inside has three sections and is accordion styled with a drop chain handle.  Size: 4-1/2 inches length, 2-inches width. Condition: vintage, used, very nice for age, some minor paint loss to center floral decoration. Circa 1880’s

Condition: used, some loss and scratches to enameling, opens and closes properly.

Size: 2-inches by 2-inches

Condition: interior is nice, top has two small dents and there is a bit of enameling loss in places, back is engine- turned. The hinge and all doors and closures work properly – it has a metal mirror.

Comments: This little gem has a lot going on for its size! That patent number dates to filed Dec. 12, 1926 and was granted July 12, 1927 to Arthur H. Noble of Pawtucket, R.I. – assignor to Theodore W. Foster & Bros. Co., Providence, R.I. – U.S.A.


 Marked: E.B.M. Co.

Size: 5-3/4 inches from hinge to finger ring, compact is 3-inches by 2-inches.

Condition: used, vintage, some enamel chips, good crescent shaped mirror,  age marks to metal on back.

Condition: vintage item, gently used, 

Comments: Circa 1930’s – probably made by Evans – has a decorative chain!


 A cute shaped dance purse, with the chain placed off center so the purse hangs at an angle. Has silhouette of a dancing couple on an emblem on the front and the monogram "K" on the back. Marked inside: D.F.B. Co. – Size: 2-3/8 inches by 2-3/8 inches by 3/8 inches depth, 7-1/4 inches length with chain outstretched. Condition: vintage, used, empty inside, mirror missing / holding brackets are there, closes tightly. Chain is custom made to match the purse; sides have a nice design pattern.

Beautiful Art Deco brass compact which is marked VOLUPTE. It is in excellent condition except two teeny tiny stones missing which you have to have a magnifying glass to spot.  Elegant Art Deco Black and Gold Compact with Rhinestones by Evans with the original puff and powder inside. It is a striking black enamel on gold tone with a gold tone crystal Rhinestones that looks like an Art Deco Building with a red and crystal rhinestone rosette on top. When you flip it over you have concentric circles in gold tone and it is approximately 3.00 inches in diameter and in good used condition with light scratching to the enamel, and very slight wear to the gold tone metal. When you open this piece you will see a Mirror that is in very good condition and the used powder puff that says Evans, The inside is also gold tone concentric circles and on the hinge it says EVANS and under the lid there is some of the original powder that just seems to get all over the place. The clasps are in good working order and it is not often you see a compact like this.  A vintage silver-toned metal case with three coin slots for three coin sizes and the other half  is lined, and a place to carry calling cards or folded money. 	Size: 3-5/8 inches by 2-5/8 inches. With the chain outstretched it measures 9-1/2 inches. Condition: used, vintage, has minor use scratches; the hinge and latch work properly. No maker marks found.

Condition: vintage, used, the latch is delicate but does work. The catch is loose and is wedged in place. 	

Comments: holds three coin slots for three coin sizes, and there is a place for calling cards and cigarettes. It is monogrammed on front, has beautiful floral scrollwork on both sides. W. H. Saart Co. Was founded 1906.

Size: 3-1/2 inches by 2-3/8 inches	, 8-7/8 inches length with linked chain stretched to end. 

Condition: vintage, used, minor use scratches and dents – latch and hinge work properly, mirror has one corner dark spot.

Comments: kind of a hammered effect with corner initials – opens to find two coin slots, open for compact area with mirror and puff and the other end would fit calling cards, cigarettes, or folded money. Circa 1920’s made by the Watrous Mfg. Co., Wallingford, Conn (per hallmark)

Size: 3-inches by 2 inches, 9- inches length with linked chain stretched to end.

Condition: vintage, used, with minor use scratches, latch and hinge work properly 

Comments: Pretty monograms – can’t read so it makes a pretty front design – Hallmarks: The Watson Company, of Attleboro, Mass. Used 1880-1955. 


 Gorgeous Art Deco style enameled compact with a chain with silver trim.  The end of the chain has a lip stick case, also enameled to match the compact. The lid has an Art Deco style woman walking dogs done in silver- toned metal.  No maker marks found. Size: 4-3/4 inches length with chain, compact is 2-1/8 inches, round. Condition: very nice for age, looks never used on the inside, or lipstick - the base has a few minor specks of enameling loss, mirror is metal, there are two original unused puffs; latch and hinge work properly.


 An unopened box with sealed contents of  "Lady Ester" powder in the color: perfect tan. Size: round at 3-inches across. Condition: like new, vintage but never unsealed.

Gorgeous matching chain on this enameled compact with silver trim. No maker marks found. Size: 5-3/4 inches length with chain, compact is 2-inches by 2-inches. Condition: very nice for age, looks never used on the inside, the base has a few minor specks of enameling loss.


 A pretty Art Deco design to this compact with a finger ring and chain, engine turned pattern on back. Front enameled with black and orange, some loss of enameling as shown in photos. Size: 5-3/8 inches length with chain and finger ring - compact is 1-3/4 inches by 1-7/8 inches.  Has a metal mirror, inside has some corrosion, and has its two original puffs. Hinge and clasp work properly, finger ring is possibly beginning an age crack at weld area (hard to tell if it was made like that or if it is an age crack). Again this one has a few  issues and I’ve tried to price it to reflect these defects - but still is a very nice memento of the Art Deco era. The chain has an area of black color that matches the black on the compact – lovely!


 White enameled compact with gold-toned metal bands to decorate. Unmarked – has compartments for powder and rouge and a nice mirror- no puffs. Size: 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches  Condition: used, has use dents on both top and bottom in the enameled area, the enameling has held up very well, clasp and hinge work well.


 A round gold-toned, unmarked compact with a hand painted dancing lady on the lid. The materials used for the painting are layered to give this a dimensional look, which is rather unusual.  Green is the base color and layered on top the colors white, red, yellow, black and blue. Size: 2-3/8 inches across.  Condition: used, vintage, half moon shaped mirror is good, rouge nearly gone, with no godet or puffs, hinge works well and it just pushes to close, has no latch.

A gold-toned compact signed inside: Elgin American – Made In U.S.A.

Also signed on puff and on the original storage bag: Elgin American -  The front has a lovely floral design in the gold. Condition: very gently used, no defects at all – mirror, hinge and clasp all are in nice condition. 


 This gold-toned compact has a marbleized lid in a gray/blue color. The puff is signed: Tradition. Size: 2-3/4 inches by 2-1/2 inches  Condition: used,  has minor use scratches and wear. 


 A gold-toned case with a lid resembling blue marble, this round case is 2-1/8 inches across, and signed: Made In U.S.A. Condition: used, vintage, mirror had black spotting around the edges, hinge works properly, and it just pushes to close with no latch. Bottom has a nice engine turned pattern, sides have raised areas of scroll and floral patterns, and the top has a beaded area around the rim of the blue marbleized area.

 A small enameled top compact, signed: "Harriet Hubbard Ayer" on the inside by the mirror. Is gold-toned and measures 2-1/4 inches by 2-1/8 inches.  Condition: used, has use scratches and a few minor dents, has a metal mirror – hinge and latch work properly.	


 Gold-toned square shaped compact with a basket weave pattern to the lid; opens to reveal a large beveled mirror, signed inside: Volupte – and also the same on the puff.  Size: 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 Condition: looks like it was not ever used, the mirror has one dot of black, the latch and hinge work properly, the puff looks new, bottom has some dents.  Circa 1950’s

Very Art Deco look to this compact; enameled on lid in green and black, and has a engine turned  Deco bottom design.  Marked: Richard Hudnut – Made in U.S.A. / Size: 2-inches by 2-inches. Condition: some loss of enameling on top, part of rouge puff is stuck to lid, and I have not tried to remove, powder puff is signed Norida, so it has been replaced as Norida is from IL. and Richard Hudnut is from New York, however it fits nicely so I will leave it as found. This compact has a metal mirror - the hinge and clasp work properly.


 A unused, vintage compact, made of a Lucite type material. Has a screen inside, I find no maker marks, and under the hinge is signed: Made In U.S.A. – Pat. Pend. Mirror is beveled, and good for age.  Size: 3-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches.  The color is a soft pink with silver accents behind the mirror. Hinge works with care, but opens a bit stiff; no clasp really - just pushes down to close. 

 A large unused, vintage compact made of a Lucite type material. Has a puff and screen inside, I find no maker marks, other than Made In U.S.A. - Pat. Pend. Mirror has a few age specks, but all in all good for age.  Size: 4-1/2 inches by 3-7/8 inches.  The sides are clear, the top has four rows of gold bands, and three rows of pink – really unusual and lovely.  Hinge works properly, no clasp, just pushes down to close. Looks unused - in very lovely condition!

When opened the mirror pops up and the powder is below and the rouge compartment is located under the lid of the case. Condition: used, latch and hinge work properly, there are no puffs, the mirror is cracked; has minor use scuffs and some specks off the enameling. Signed: "Deauville – Richard Hudnut – Made In U.S.A."  inside under the mirror.  Size: 5-inches length, 2-1/8 inches across case. Circa 1920’s.

A  Rex, Fifth Avenue compact, in original box with a matching comb in case, which has never been opened or used. The compact is 2-1/2 inches square and the lid is decorated in two shapes of greens with gold toned metal dividing the two colors, the sides and bottom are also gold toned metal.  The inner green has an engraved design inside the color. The puff has "Fifth – REX – Avenue" written on  its satin ribbon, there is a sifter screen, both show no use, the mirror is loose and you can tell where it was glued, as that has come thru the beveled mirror over time. "Made In U.S.A."  is stamped below the hinge, on the back. 


 Engine turned design with hand painted enamel decorations with several styles and patterns all included in this 2-inch area work of art. This one’s a beauty! The inside has some compartments missing, but the outside is simply wonderful. Please view the pictures carefully for how lovely this little gem of a compact really is – it has so much decoration going on its easy to miss some feature.

 A small navy blue compact, with rouge and powder compartments and their two puffs. The first opening reveals the powder and a metal mirror, and then one opens the metal mirror to reveal the unused rouge compartment, which has "Mayfair by Evans" written in the rouge. Size: 2-1/4 inches by 2-1/4 inches. Marked:  Evans  - inside on powder door. Condition: used, navy is chipping in places, surface has average use scratches.


 Unused in original box, was most likely a Christmas gift to a teacher that was received and stored away for years. A small gold- toned case, with a delicate floral design in the center of the ivory area, measures 2-1/8 inches square. Inside opens to reveal a square mirror, and tri-angel shaped powder and rouge areas with one puff which has Elgin American printed on the satin ribbon. Condition: like new, just some age specks in two areas, mirror is good and also the clasp and hinge work properly.

Puff is signed: Zell – Fifth Avenue – This nifty case is a carry- all with two sections that open; one on each side; one side for powder , lipstick, comb, and has a clip for money or  business cards and the other side  is a cigarette holder/ storage area. The outside front has a gold-toned and white weaved design and the back is a silver toned, with gold toned sides, making a nice colors blend and a bag that could be carried with many outfits easily with the thoughtful blend of colors. It has a pliable gold handle. Size: 4-inches by 3 inches by 1-1/2 depth.  With handle extended, it is 7 inches height.  Condition is good, the mirror is nice and both clasps and hinges work properly. Circa 1960’s


 This compact has a mesh like texture on the front and back and opens envelope style to reveal a nice large mirror and the powder compartment. Size: 3-1/2 inches by 2-3/4 inches and is quite slim. Condition: used, shows use wear	, puff is missing, hinges work properly and it closes easily as intended.


 A wonderful little case containing a  Max Factor a lipstick tube, and a mirror. It is signed on bottom: Max Factor – Hollywood – London – Paris – U.S.A. patent No. 2,830,602 – Made In U.S.A.

The top is gold-toned and has a geometric pattern; the sides and bottom are smooth. Size: 2-1/4 inches length, 1-1/8 inches width, Ύ inch height. Condition: the mirror is good and the clasp and hinge works properly. 


 A three piece set: a lipstick tube, a spray bottle of perfume, and a mirror all in a black velvet bag with slots for each piece. They are refillable and all marked with the letter "N", even the front of the case is marked N.  The back of the mirror is marked: Norell, and it measures 3-1/8 inches length by 2-inches width.  The perfume holds .08 OZ and is 3-inches height, and the spray perfume is 3-inches height and holds .2 Oz. Both are marked on the bottom; the perfume: Norell – Perfumes Inc. – Dist. N.Y., N.Y. 10022 Spray Perfume – Net Wt. .2oz – Not For Individual Sale and on the lipstick: Norell – Perfumes Inc. – Dist. N.Y., N.Y. 10022  - Classic Lipstick – Net Wt. .08 oz – Not For Individual Sale.  Condition: vintage used, the perfume is empty, the metal on the back of the  mirror needs polishing if desired. The case closes with a  snap located under the letter N.

For all one’s grooming needs, this Volupte compact’s case is also has a clothes brush on one side. Both case and compact are signed Volupte. Size: 3-inches square, gold toned, square mirror remains in nice condition and the latch and hinges work properly. Has no puff. The case is a heavy black fabric and written on the inside is: Patent Pending /  and on the outside:  Volupte.


 Vintage Compact with silver mesh bottom, and has an enameled green color on the lid with silver toned metal of embossed floral work in the center. Size: 2-1/2 inches across. Condition: mirror has age spotting near edge; the enameling has specks of color loss here and there, has a tiny dent on rim, the clasp works properly – Marked: Evans. 


 Small round Coty compact, measuring 1-3/4 inches across with contents and original puff , which is also signed: Coty.   Top has a square box signed "Coty", and the rest of the lid and the base are textured. Condition: all good except the mirror has age clouding. 


 Coty "Air Spun" is found in a 1940 Print Ad  - This gold toned mini rouge compact has a red plastic center with Air Spun written in the red - the back is signed:  Coty – New York – Air Spun – Sub Deb – Vibrant. 

Size: round/ 1-1/2 inches across.

 Condition: used, vintage, a spot of corrosion on corner of top – inside is clean and in good condition including the mirror; the clasp and hinge work properly.

Coty "Air Spun" is found in a 1936 Print Ad as being a new kind of powder. This gold toned compact has an ivory enameled center section, and the back is signed: Paris – Coty – New York.  It is also signed on the inside: "Air-Spun" – Coty – Poudre – De- Beaute. Size: round/ is 3-1/4 inches across. Condition: used / mirror is in good condition; also the clasp and hinge work properly, contains a used original puff signed Coty. The case has use scuffs and surface scratching.

Condition: used / in good condition including the mirror; and the clasp and hinge work properly, has no contents or puff.


 A round Coty compact containing its original plastic insert which reads: Coty- French Flair - For that wonderful "loose powder look" – so new! Lightly puff on Coty French Flair, and suddenly your skin looks like pure silk!

Compact measures 2-3/4 inches across, in gold tined metal and the top is decorated with an emblem with a crown at the top over a star and an eagle. The back still has a partial paper label: French Flair – Soleil D’OR – 515-01- Net Wt. .75 OZ. The condition of this compact is very good, the hinge and mirror are good and it comes with its original puff ; signed Coty. Circa 1959. 


This compact originally sold for $1.50 and was advertised as being; " unspillable - refillable – and looks like fine jewelry".


 World’s Tallest – Empire State Building – New York City - are all written in black lettering on the top of this compact, which then has a photo of the city featuring the empire state building, with light blue enameling around the photo and also on the bottom, separated by two silver tone bands. It opens to reveal a nice mirror and a powder sifter and puff. Size: Round, 2-3/4 inches across Condition: used, and very good for age; of better quality than most souvenir’s.
