This heavy paper cover child's book is a scarce unstated first edition, first printing. It has a copyright date of 1945 with no publisher information - this first printing was self-published.

Little Squeegy Bug is the tale of a little firefly, which was re-written by the author several years ago with an updated and more politically correct story line (ie: removing mentions of the gun in the bumblebee's tail). The illustrations in this edition were done by Bernard Martin, the author's brother, and they are filled with old fashioned charm. The book measures 5-1/2" by 8-3/8" and is unpaginated (28 pages).

The name Sheila is printed in pencil on the title page, that is the only writing in the book. There are no tears to the pages or covers. Saddle stitch binding is tight with no loose pages. There is almost no soiling or thumb wear, it's in wonderful condition for a 63-year old child's book.

Black Beauty-The Autobiography of a Horse by Anna Sewell-Illustrations by Walter Seaton-Junior Deluxe Edition, Camden City, New York-MCMLIV by Nelson Doubleday-1954  Condition:the clear cover is coming off in spots. Author-Laura Lee Hope-Illustrated by Janet Laura Scott- This used to be the first Bobbsey Twins book, before "The Bobbsey Twins of Lakeport" became the book numbered first in the series.

The text has had a long history of change. The first edition was published in 1907. Major revisions were done in 1928, 1950 and 1961. This is the 1950 text. 282 pages, 22 chapters.

Pages are sewn and intact, but yellowing significantly. No rips or tears. No writing/markings. Hinges cracked but not separate from spine and text.

Covers are OK and still colorful, but the spine is worn at the top. Corner bumping but not terrible.

Some wear to corners and spine ends. Text pages are clean and firmly bound. The animals in the jungle are in a panic . . . the lion is headed in their direction and they fear they may be his next meal . . so they conceive a plan to defend their territory . . .
