Selected Prose & Poetry of Rudyard Kipling,

The preface, by Rudyard Kipling, states that this is a duly authorized volume to counter a collection of his earlier works that had been published without his permission. It contains, in addition to earlier published materials, three tales whech had not before appeared in book form.

It is divided into 12 volumes: Ballads and Barrack-Room Ballads; The Light That Failed; City of the Dreadful Night; Plain Tales From the Hills; Soldiers Three; Mine Own People; In Black and White; The Phantom 'Rickshaw and other Ghost Stories; Under the Deodars; Wee Willie Winkie; The Story of the Gadsbys; Departmental Ditties and Other Verses.

Some of the works within these volumes include Tommy, Gunga Din, Mandalay, The Man Who Would Be King, Recessional, as well as many others.

Published by Garden City Publishing Co., Inc., Authorized Edition, 1937. Hard bound in red cloth, with 1030 pages, over 2 inches thick. There is some foxing and the cover is discolored, but it is firmly bound, and in good condition.

Captain Lightfoot, The Irish Casanova

by W. R. Burnett

The English owned Ireland -- or thought they did -- but Michael Martin didn't agree.

As 'Captain Lightfoot' -- beloved highwayman, gentleman of fortune -- he robbed the rich, with great enthusiasm and no scruples at all, to fill his pockets and the coffers of a secret rebel band.

He led the Redcoats on a wild chase through the stews of Dublin. He operated a notorious gaming establishment -- with lovely ladies included in the entertainment -- under the very noses of the English Lords in Dublin castle. He fought and loved and fought again.

Here is a brawling, swaggering novel of high-hearted love and lusty adventure.

Published by Bantam Books, 1955. Paperback, 230 pages. Paper has darkened. Edges and corners show wear.
