Shipping to be announced at time of sale.  Old Stock Certificate of the Chinese EWO Cotton Mills, Ltd. Capital: Shanghai Taels 11,000,000. This certificates represents 100 shares. Signed by the General Manager of Jardine, Matheson & Co. LTD.


Ornate border with small images of weaving machinery and old card for transport.


Size: 13,5 x 10 inches, very fine condition. Chinese fiscal stamps and many stamps at reverse.


Jardine, Matheson & Co. was founded in Canton on 1 July 1832, following a meeting between William Jardine and another Scots trader, James Matheson.


In 1834, the pair sent the first private shipments of Chinese tea to England; another big export to the UK was silk. In return, they traded opium to the Chinese. Jardine Matheson’s early profits were based on this trading of Indian opium into China. When the Chinese emperor tried to ban the trade, the company called on Britain to compel China to provide compensation for the confiscated opium, leading in 1839 to the first of two Opium Wars.  Decorative Bulgarian stock certificate, denomination 5000 Leva. Text in Bulgarian language. The company produced locomotives, ships and other steel products.

I. G. Farbenindustrie AG. German Stock certificate, denomination 200 Reichsmark. Issued in 1925.


Size: 11,8 x 8,2 inches ( 29,7 x 21 cm). Very fine condition.


I.G. Farbenindustrie AG was a German chemical industry conglomerate. Its name is taken from Interessen-Gemeinschaft Farbenindustrie AG (lit. Community of interest of the dye industry). The company was formed in 1925 from a number of major companies that had been working together closely since World War I.


During its heyday IG Farben was the fourth-largest company in the world, after General Motors, U.S. Steel and Standard Oil. During the planning of the invasion of Czechoslovakia and Poland, IG Farben cooperated closely with Nazi officials and directed which chemical plants should be secured and delivered to IG Farben.  Spolecné továrny na cukr v Kourimi (Kourim Sugar Refinery Corp)

The vignette shows a lady sitting on a safe next a generator. In the back is a factory and a train. All symbols of prosperity and development Size: 12 in. x 17 in. Coupons 20 – 54 are attached.

This is the earliest, scarce 1881 variety, share number 389. Very fine condition.  Bulgaria 1923: Decorative old stock certificate of a company, offering services for graveyards.


Ornate border and a large vignette of a girl with an urn, a goblet and a crown of thorns.


7 coupon at the right side, all numbered by hand. Minor aging, scarce.  1846: Imperial Moravian – Silesian provincial circular announcing contractual obligations related to floating a loan. It is about a 4 % interest.


The text is in German and Czech language, written by Rudolf Earl von Stadion, Governor of Moravia and Silesia.


Size: 9 x 13 inches. 3 pages, fine condition.  Authentic, antique share certificate, par value 100 Gilders, of the Kaiserjubiläum Stadttheater which is The Vienna Volksoper (Volksoper Wien or Vienna People's Opera) today, and is a major opera house in Vienna, Austria.


Size: 11,5 x 17,5 inches. Horizontal centrefold, very fine condition. Scarce share. ( It once was once auctioned for US$ 1,500+. A copy of the catalogue page will be included ) Wikipedia writes about this opera house: "….The opera house was built in 1898 as the Kaiser-Jubiläums-Stadttheater (Kaiser's Jubilee Civic Theatre), originally producing only plays, but in 1903, operas and operettas became part of the program. The Volksoper is Vienna’s largest venue for operas, operettas, musicals and dance theater.


The first Viennese performances of Tosca and Salome were given at the Volksoper in 1907 and 1910 respectively. World famous singers such as Maria Jeritza and Richard Tauber appeared there; the conductor Alexander Zemlinsky became the first kapellmeister in 1906…...


After the Second World War, the Volksoper Wien became the alternative venue to the devastated Wiener Staatsoper. In 1955 the Volksoper returned to its former role of presenting opera, operetta, and musicals.

Bukowina means Beech Wood and covers an area from the northern part of Romania to the South West of the Ukraine.


Ruled by the Turkish Empire till 1769 it became Russian then and formed a part of Galicia until 1849 when it became a separate province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After W.W.I it became a province of Romania till 1944.

Only 2000 have been issued. Ornate border.


This bond has some historic value: it has been issued in 1907, bought back by a certain Mr. Franz Rubinstein in 1927 for Reichsmark 150. A square red stamp states that the bond has been “accepted as “ old property “ ( Als Altbesitz anerkannt ).

 1923: The Austria Flugverkehrs AG was the precursor of the AUA, now called Austrian.


A green stock,  25 x 1000 Kronen, green/black, exists which is of less value.


Attractive design with Art Deco border. A small vignette shows a double decker against a globe. The same pattern can be seen on the coupons. Of which all exist.


No creasing, tears just minor, narrow, brownish traces along the borders ( That happens when several pieces are on a stack ).

 Very decorative, large stock certificate of Steyr, and Austrian car producer. This share has been issued for their Bulgarian branch.

Pretty scarce as only 300 have been issued.

Earl Esterhazy issued this debenture bond totaling 1 Million Gilders ( 50 000 bonds ). He guaranteed its worth by using his estate property in Hungary, Austria and Italy.
