Vintage cloisonné vase with two 5-clawed dragons over waves around the centre of the body. Fish scale pattern in aqua blue to base, and very pretty feather and flowers pattern to the neck. Vase measures 23.5 cm high and 11.2 cm diameter (9.1/4 inches by 4.3/8 inches). It has a brass interior , and has sustained some damage to the neck - a split in the rim, with a loss of top coat to the enamels under the rim. There are two small dents in the side of the vase. Priced to reflect this. Displays well, has some age.  Outstanding vintage Chinese cloisonne bowl. It has a faint China mark on bottom. The brass appears quite old and dark on this bowl. Nice condition. Age est: late 19th, early 20th C. It is 6 wide from interior rim to rim; or 8 inches from exterior body to other side x 3 tall. I believe the pattern is called: Millefleurs or Thousand Flower. 9/11est#  Heavy Oriental photo frame, made in spelter, with gilded and lacquered finish. Dragon with chrysanthemums and foliage. Frame measures 24.5 cm by 19 cm (about 9.3/4 inches by 7.1/2 inches). Very nice condition - easel back and glass in frame. Circa early 20th century to 1920s.  Sterling silver pendant - actually a rank badge or badge of importance for a mid level official in the Kuomintang. Circa Chiang Kai-Shek. Stamped on the reverse Silver 925. Badge measures 23 mm diameter (15/16 inch). Excellent condition. Needs a silver O ring on the bale at the top.

Beautiful classic shape - simple and perfect. Bronze vase, signed underneath (see photo). The sides are beautifully patinated, and have some crimson colour effects. Heavy piece, a superb vase. Quite small, measures 16 cm high and 7.25 cm diameter at the shoulders (6.1/4 inches high and 2.7/8 inch diameter at the widest point). Has a small short scratch mark on one side, otherwise perfect.  This vintage candle-holder is beautifully decorated with bright colors cloisonné depicting crane in the foreground. Cloisonné on brass Chinese napkin rings. It is lovely with floral design. The colors are quite striking in pink, cobalt blue, emerald green on the white background. Turquoise enamel inside. Good heavy weight. Measures 1 inches high and 2 inches diameter. Excellent condition. It would compliment any décor from Victorian to Art Deco!  Cloisonné on brass Chinese napkin rings. A great piece to add to your collection of Oriental collectibles.  19th century bronze dish with woven copper edge - the centre oval bronze plaque has a scene of two men winnowing rice. Their clothes and dishes have gilded highlights, and there are gilded flowers surrounding them. The edge is copper, woven to look like basket weave. Whole measures 21 cm by 24 cm (8.1/4 inches by 9.1/2 inches). The basket weave edging has become a little out of true, and there are a few marks on the bronze, but overall condition is good and sound Rear of the bronze has 5 Japanese script marks - signature.  Cloisonné on brass Chinese napkin ring, yellow bird with pink, green and blue flowers on black cloud background with blue border. Turquoise enamel inside. Good heavy weight. Measures 2.8 cm high and 5.2 cm diameter (1.1/8 inches high and 2 inches diameter). Excellent condition outer - inside has a little marking on lower edge. If you use napkin rings, especially with guests staying, cloisonne rings are excellent, since they are all different, but uniformly attractive. Everyone will recognize the one they have been given, and it saves a lot of sorting out of table napkins!

Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Napkin Ring. $32.00
This vase has an all over floral pattern of red, pink, very light pink, white, yellow and green flowers against a dark blue background. It is about 5 1/4" tall and just over 3" across at the widest point. It is in fair condition, there are three spots that are dented in, the mouth of the vase has a spot where the lip has been bent, may be able to straighten it, bottom is copper and is marked China. It still displays well and would be a nice addition to your collection!  Antique signed oriental cloisonne bowl. It features a large yellow dragon motif circling the sacred pearl; exterior has 4 dragons. It is quite large; it measures 9.25 wide from rim to rim, or 11.5 inches from exterior to ext; and stands 4 tall. Nice condition but for one small dent on exterior body, (neglected to photograph it, but it likely will not show up in a picture anyway). The bottom is signed with 3 Chinese symbols in a square; bottom right symbol is Ming Dynasty mark but it's in red so likely made in 19th C for export. Age est: late 19th. shcau9.07CC  An exceptionally fine example of cloisonné is this pale blue vase, with decoration of roses. Silvered metal mounts. Good heavy weight, and absolutely tip top condition. Measures 19 cm high and just under 10 cm diameter at its widest (7.1/2 inches high by 3.7/8 inches diameter).  Beautiful late 19th century cloisonné vases, with glitter highlights in the enamel, and rich colours of royal blue, green and dark terracotta. Vases each measure 6 inches high (15.5 cm) and just under 3 inches diameter (7.4 cm). Overall very good condition - a few minor faults: two small bruises in the enamel at the shoulder, one on each vase (see photo).

Dark reds and blacks in a floral pattern, with dark turquoise interior enamel. All on brass. Ring measures 3cm high and 5.5cm diameter (1.1/8 inches and 2.1/8 inches). Excellent condition.  Vintage oriental cloisonne matchsafe. The metal looks like brass and has different flowers on each side. Good condition. Holds box matches. 2.75 long x 1.75 wide x .75 deep. A great item for the oriental or tobacianna collector! Age est: early 20th C. brcs.2/07  Signed antique oriental cloisonne bowl vase. This bowl has a mark on the bottom; 2 symbols in a square against a navy blue background see pic #5. These indicate Ming or Qing Dynasty marks according to the Gothborg site. This vase is in 'antique' condition; the interior bottom has a small spot where enamel is missing and the interior enamel is crazed/striated indicating a lot of age. Also some small spots of wear and crackling along exterior. This is a very old bowl. It is 9.5 wide; from rim to rim it is 8.25 wide x 3.25 tall. Displays well despite the age/wear. ant.r-CC  I purchased this from an Antique shop that was going out of business and it was listed as a "rose jar". It is an exquisite color of deep blue-violet with (brass?)gold-colored cloisonnes. The design on the bowl is of four scrolling (tree-like) flowers interspersed with three flame shaped floral medallions. It has a copper rim at the top and base of the bowl. The interior is turquoise blue. It is 18 inches in diameter at the widest part, and 4 inches tall. It is in good condition, the only flaws are some minor pitting in the enamel around the top and a fleabite in the copper base. There is an incised mark in the bottom but it is undecipherable. I beleive this is possibly Chinese in origin because of the dark blue background, but in my research I couldn't find anything comparable to it. Despite my lack of knowledge of cloisonne, this is truly an exquisite objet d'art.

Midnight Blue Cloisonne Rose Bowl

This lovely set is part of a collection we obtained from a collector in England, believed to be ca 1920's. It consists of a cigarette box with hinged lid (3.75" x 3.2" x 1.75"), an ashtray (3.75" x 0.6") and a matchbox cover (2.4" x 1.5" x 0.75"). All pieces are decorated with a floral design on aroyal blue ground featuring a geometric wirework pattern as shown in the pictures. It measures 2.5 inches high and just under 5 inches across. The lid is decorated with a yellow dragon chasing the flaming pearl with a Jingtai blue wave pattern around the border. This wave pattern is repeated on the bowl itself. It is all executed on a black ground with fine wire cloisonne cloud motif. There is a slight dent on the rim of the bowl. This good sized piece measures 5.75 inches across and is 1.75 inches tall. The outside is decorated with a pair of yellow dragons chasing the flaming pearl. What makes this piece so unusual is the dragon decoration inside the bowl. Often the inside of these bowls is simply decorated with a single colour, where this has a fantastically rendered dragon and pearl. They have a beautiful flower and butterfly decoration on a white ground and the jars and lids are a mirror image of each other. The lids are hand numbered with the same number and there is sticker residue on the base of one of them. They are made on a heavy metal base and are in excellent condition with no dents or dings. The bowl is 5 inches across and 2.5 inches high and is decorated with two medallions, each containing a detailed miniature painting. This is a small pigeon blood ginbari cloisonne dish with a fine wire cloisonne cherry blossom decoration. It measures just under 5 inches across and about o.5 inch high and is in excellent condition. Please check out our other fine Oriental items.  This is a very rare pair of monochrome black vases with gold wire cloisonne decoration. While almost all cloisonne has small cloisons ( cells ) filled with brightly colored enamels, these unusual examples are completely filled with a black enamel. This combined with the amazingly fine wire used in the decoration creates a vase with a unique gold decoration made up solely of the wire-work. They stand 9.5 inches tall and are in excellent condition with some pitting consistant with old enamels. There is also a slight deformation on the edge of the base of one vase. There is no enamel loss. These vases are ca. 1880 and are very hard to find. I have only seen one other pair since I started collecting orientalia, and they had been drilled out to be used for lamps. There is a very small dent on the rim and it is 3 5/8 in. in diameter. Ther other is rectangular with a blue background and minor wear. It is 4 in. X 2 3/4 in. Both are from the 1950-60 era.  Thia ia a wonderful set of two cloisonne mini plates with white background, one with floral designs and the other with a figural design. They are both hand marked China on the back. There is some enamel worn on the back of each. They are from the 1950-60 time period. Measurement is 3 3/4 in. in diameter for each plate. These are great pieces of vintage cloisonne.

Old (1920's) Japanese Goldstone Cloisonne Vase The vase is 6.6 inches tall, and 3 inches wide. It is in good condition with no repairs or chips, except missing enamel at the side, a small dent at the side of the lid, the crystal is lose from the base, and hairline crack at the side (as seen in the photos). It does match the salt and pepper shakers listed. The box is 2 1/4 in. tall excluding the top stem and it is 2 1/2 in. in diameter. It dates post 1970.  This unique cloisonne box with a white floral design on a blue base is 4 X 5 1/8 in. and is 1 3/4 in. in height including the lid. It is marked on the bottom with a character. There are a couple of minute fleabites on the inside of the lid rim, which do not show. It is circa 1970s.

Vase measures 33cm high (13 inches) and approx. 18cm (7 inches) wide at its widest point. Under the base, there is the scratched name "Dresdor. France", but this vase is probably Japanese or Chinese. Maybe it was bought in France. No chips or cracks, just a few spots in the lacquer, and fading to the brick red design. A very Edwardian looking vase, would look great with large flowers.
