3cm x 25cm  Authentic set of 4, late 19th century, hand painted, gilt porcelain 1000 butterfly dishes. Very rare to find more than one together. Here we have four in near perfect condition, all slightly different from each other. Guaranteed period pieces.    31" overall, 11" x 9" x 9" lamp body. Unusual form, Meiji era, bronze urn converted to lamp. Finely detailed hand carves & chased metal work, with 4 turquoise blue stone cabochon accents, set in low carat gold bezels. 25" overall, vase alone, 11" x 9" Late Qing Dynasty garden scene, Madam with children & servants. Poem on obverse. Hand carved base. Excellent condition.  31cm x 24cm Simply the finest & rarest form Japanese vase I've ever had. With undulating spiral stripes, there are alternating panels of flowers & butterflies on a gold patterned background, then on an orange background with golden clouds, and frolicking gilt cloud dogs, medallions of dragons & Phoenix birds float. There is a small lip chip repair. A minor issue for this museum piece.  10.5" x 8.5" Frame, visible image, 4" x 6"

Pair. Very nice & finely detailed Japanese wood block prints. Garden scenes, Faux bamboo frame. Unsigned.  10" x 5" x 4" Very nice and well painted, Republic era, porcelain 3 tier temple. Former lamp, but much more attractive as a stand alone decorative art. Excellent condition.

Chinese Republic Era Porcelain Temple $350.00

31" tall, vase 17" x 8. High glaze blue ground, gilt with dragons & clouds, a late 1940's, early 1950's, vase lamp. This is a transitional piece, made around the Republic to Peoples Republic period. Pristine condition.  16" x 8" x 8"  Very old, & ornately carved, Qing Dynasty architectural element, turned into pedestals. Someone cared deeply for these, as there are well done modern repairs. I estimate these at 200-300 years old, & show a varied history, including slight fire damage. There are 4 carved figures on each pedestal for a total of 8 distinct figures. A dancing flautist, a scholar, a solder, a fan man, a dancing wine merchant, a basket of fruit girl, dancing guy with tool or weapon, & my favorite, a long sleeve dancer.  They are ornately carved in the round, & have what I believe to be full Lotus Blossoms on the base.  It is showing natural age cracking, but has been stabelized.  21cm x 13cm x 10cm  Dates from the late 19th, early 20th century. Very nice & detailed casting of Shiva sitting in 1/2 Lotus with gyan mudra both hands.  38" x 11" x 8", Dates to the 1950's-60's. Highly stylized robed man with a bag in hand. I have a feeling this is a sarcastic rendering of a money lender. Normal age cracking, excellent condition.

25" x 51" x 33"  Very ornately carved Qing Dynasty Ladies chest. High relief carvings on the top & 4 sides. All real wood, late 19th Century. Some normal minor cracking & chipping.   45mm x 35mm x 27mm Vintage well carved ivory netsuke. Depicts a man celebrating with a foo dog costume. Amazingly detailed, with a drop down jaw that reveals the smiling face of the wearer. 32cm x 5cm Very nicely detailed blue & white Japanese Charger. Artist signed, has 4 blue circles on the bottom & an incised glyph. Excellent condition.  8.5" x 9" Rare, large and richly painted, mid to late 18th century Ginger Jar. About 75% decorated in the round with powerful floral.  Has a very unusual heart shaped cameo center with what appears to be a tower amidst the rocks & & weather waves. No lid, hairline on rear.  28cm x 13.5cm Very well done & delicately detailed 19th century Japanese cloisonne on heavy bronze, sushi dish. Mount Fuji in the background.   22cm x 4cm  Very nice & rare Meiji Era, bronze Japanese scholars ink. These held both the brush & ink.

7.5" x 5" Extremely well glazed & gilt, nubby Meiji vase. One panel appears tobe a court scene, the other an aristocrat bringing tribute, (large fish) to a holy man. Excellent condition.   56.5" / 144cm tall x 21.5"/ 55cm wide, 68" on the stand.  Monumental Palace Vase, Republic Era, circa 1930-1940.  Scenes from upper class Chinese life, flora & fauna, in the round, & large elephant "ears,"  Very rare find & in perfect condition.  The blue curvette background is done in low relief.  This monster will require special handling, so final shipping to be determined by address.  23cm x 7cm Beautiful 19th century Sang de Boeuf bowl. This rare treasure has a  slightly foliate rim, an almost iridescent puddle of robins egg glaze, center bottom, & similar colored speckles around. It is in good condition but does show some internal wear from stacking & has an almost invisible hairline across the base.   30cm x 4cm  Beautifully painted battle scene. Dates from about the mid-late 19th century. Excellent condition, appropriate crazing for its age.

14" x 4" A Very, Very, rare a lucky find. From the collection of an elderly man who traveled in the East & collected some 50 years ago. A late Ming Dynasty Quan Yin with child or attendant. Masterly carved, in excellent as collected condition, guaranteed authentic. Has a few small issues as pictured.

Very few bamboo carvings pre-date the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), but by mid-Ming-Dynasty bamboo carvings had become a professional art, and more and more artists had taken it up, shifting its role from practical use into an art form. Jiading and Jinling areas that teemed with bamboo were the two bamboo-carving centers during the Ming dynasty.  7'10" x 9" Beautiful 1920's vintage Art Deco Chinese hand knotted rug. Arare beauty in unusually good condition.   36" x 14" 1950's vintage monster enamel on brass & mother of pearl vase. Classic Chinese dragons protecting the pearl of wisdom. 14.5" x 13.25" Guaranteed Authentic Chinese Neolithic vase between 4000-5000 years old. From an old Philadelphia collection. All original paint, no major repairs. It does have some tectonic movement fractures that have been stabilized & appear to have been done long ago. Numerous root tracks also reflect it's antiquity.   13 x 8.5" Turn of the century copper plated provincial Chinese serving tray.  Finely detailed mountain village scene with peacocks, & excellent use of the negative on the reverse, with trees next to rushing water & a falls.  Some wear.  61" x 38" x 25" total height.  Foo dog alone, 36" x 32" x 18"   Estate piece, 1930's-1940's vintage.  Solid wood, about 230lbs each, excellent condition. Rare Museum Quality Beauties. Ebisu (恵比須, 恵比寿, 夷, 戎), also transliterated Yebisu or called Hiruko (蛭子) or Kotoshiro-nushi-no-kami (事代主神), is the Japanese god of fishermen, good luck, and workingmen, as well as the guardian of the health of small children. He is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune  (七福神, Shichifukujin), and the only one of the seven to originate from Japan.
