This is a professionally framed antique french silk fan, hand painted. It is believed to date back to the 1800's and is in excellent condition. It is preserved in a shadow box frame which measures 29x19 and is 2 inches deep. The silk fan is hand painted with blue eyed cherubs, blue butterflies, and pink rose garland. The background material is a light sage green silk. The wood at the base of the fan appears to be teak but I cannot be sure. ALL FIVE OF THE LITTLE DRAWERS OPEN TO HOLD TREASURES AND THE GLASS IN THE MIDDLE HAS A SLOT IN THE BCK TO SLIDE IN A PHOTO OR POSTCARD FOR THE BACK WITH FAUX FLOWERS AND BUSHES IN THE FRONT.
