It dates back to the mid-19th century and retains its original splint seat and back. It stands 42 inches at its back and is in good solid condition. There are a couple of broken splints in the seat, but the seat remains firm. I bought this chair from a Valley dealer who told me it was a classic "Yoder" rocking chair, especially due to the unique weaving of the chairs back and the back post turnings. Other Valley chair makers are known to have used this same weaving technique. This rocker is too large to be shipped through the normal channels (Greyhound may be an option) , so it will require freight, which the Buyer must arrange and pay for. Local pickup is a good option (and its free). Delivery throughout most of Virginia and much of North Carolina can br arranged for a nominal fee (this would include a delay because it would be within the range of our normal travels - ask). This is an adorable pair of stools made from solid beech wood by the middle part of the 20th century, both covered with a floral upholstery which is not original and estimated to be 5-10 years old. The nicely patinaed pediment consists of 4 turned legs joined by straight stretchers and standing on ball feet. Note that the upholstery is in used condition and would need to be replaced. Circa date 1940. Dimensions 13 1/3"high/ 14"wide/ 14"deep.  This rare King George Chair Bench is hard to find.It has a leather seat, that shows some wear on the leather, with a split in one place, but the rest of the piece is in good condition.
