This piece was made by Indiana Glass from molds purchased from Federal Glass in 1982.

In 1983 Lancaster Colony purchased the company. Lancaster Colony closed the factory in 2002.

From the late 1880’s to the 1940’s, Dr. S F Baker sold relief medicines and tonics for human ailments as well as for cows and horses. This 8 1/2 inch tall aqua glass bottle is marked under the 2 1/4 width base with a T B in a diamond shape for the manufacturer, Tibby Bros. of Pittsburgh and Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. Because Tibby Brothers was in business only until the early 1900’s, we estimate this bottle to be a true antique and more than 100 years old.

The bottle has no cracks, chips, or nicks and is embossed with the S F Baker name and Keokuk, Iowa. There is some cloudiness inside this vintage bottle, and minor roughness under the base, but over-all it is in very fine collectible condition.  Hand Made Blown Slovenian Crystal Bubble Vase from the Bergschrund collection. It is 7" tall has a spray of bubbles and 3 scrolled feet. It is simple but very elegant. The rolled top rim is just a little uneven but that more or less goes to show that is is completely hand made. The condition is excellent.  This crystal bunny rabbit figural votive candle holder from the Candle-Lite series produced by Indiana Glass is missing it's original label on the bottom.

The Indiana Glass Company began as part of the Ohio Flint Glass Company which was later sold to the National Glass Company. They officially became Indiana Glass Company in 1907. They produced a wide variety of glass items in a wide array of colors. The Indiana Carnival (Iridescent) is probably the most popular. In 1983 Lancaster Colony purchased the company. Lancaster Colony closed the factory in 2002.

In very good + condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites it measures 2 1/4 inches tall, 5 inches long and 2 1/2 inches deep.

An addition to any Indiana Glass Collection.

Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry. The Hazel-Atlas Company was established in Washington, Pennsylvania, in 1902 as a result of the merger of the Hazel Glass Company and the neighboring Atlas Glass and Metal Company. Though its corporate offices were located in Wheeling, West Virginia, Hazel-Atlas factories produced machine-made pressed glass throughout the U.S., including Oakland, California; Buffalo, New York; and Ada, Oklahoma. Cathy and Gene Florence, America s leading glassware authorities, have produced a second edition of their popular title devoted to Hazel-Atlas glass. Loaded with hundreds of new pieces and color photographs, the book still retains its organization by categories (children's dishes, tumblers, food containers, patterns, mugs, bowls, plates, syrups), making it easy for readers to locate items. A handy index is a nice new addition to the book.  Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. While working in a classic tradition inspierd by the art of ancient and Renaissance Italy, Marioni has invented fresh forms and color combinations that carry the art forward into a new millennium. This stunning volume brilliantly captures the beauty of Marioni's art. DANTE MARIONI is a Seattle artist whose graceful, blown-glass vessels are internationally recognized for their vibrant color and classic design. Marioni has a love and an enduring respect for the process of glassblowing, a technique developed by ancient glassmakers during the first century B.C. For Marioni, making objects is about the art of glassblowing rather than the creation of glass art, the process rather than the result. His elegant works are the radiant record of his ongoing relationship with this material. Through the process of making his vessels -- which are inspired by forms found in the ancient and Renaissance art of Italy -- Marioni has entered a centuries-long artistic conversation about classical design, proportion, and aesthetics that dates back to the first Roman emperors who looked at Greek art and to the first Renaissance artists who rediscovered classical antiquity. Confident in the strength of his vision and in his mastery of a demanding medium, Marioni has unselfconsciously and studiously pursued his own interpretation of classical design, resulting in forms and colors in glass that are inventive, fresh, and tradition-breaking. Marioni's distinctive glass vessels are found in the collections of art museums, corporations, and private collectors worldwide.  Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. BOOK NOTES: This small book is a stunning photographic journal of the art glass of the two master Italian artists Massimo Nordio and Vittorio Ferro. The photography truly does justice to their creations, and instills in the glass connoisseur the desire to hold these pieces personally and examine their intricacies in perfect light. The preface to the book is written in both Italian and English. ---- copyright 2004, Collector Bookstore, John K, Reviewer PUBLISHER'S DESCRIPTION: Over the last few years, glass designer and collector Massimo Nordios attention has gradually turned almost exclusively to a historically fascinating type of glass with an ancient tradition on Murano: the so-called avventurina. Avventurine is a glass paste of brown or reddish color, studded with a myriad of small yellow-golden sparkling specks which are nothing other than suspended copper crystals. For this reason it is also called astrals. Presented here are more than 60 photographs of Nordios stunning designs. Undoubtedly, the high quality of these glass works is also due to the renowned skill of the maestro who blew them, Vittorio Ferro. Massimo Nordio and Vittorio Ferro have worked in perfect harmony it is, perhaps, correct to state that the success of this collection has been due to their sound artistic relationship.  Fenton Happiness bird. A 3" elegant glass creamer and sugar made by Fostoria in the 1950s. The pair is in excellent condition. Fostoria Baroque is a very collectible pattern. Price is for the set.  An interesting assortment of 3 small lampshades, probably early electric. 2 are just shy of 5 inches tall, the 3rd is 4 7/8 inches. The first is clear, frosted, pearlized with a pretty art nouveau pattern, and 8 thumbprint ruffles at the base. It has a 2 1/8 inch flare on the fitter; just below the flare, the ID is about 1 ¾ inches; OD is about 1 7/8 inches. These areas are difficult to measure. This has one 5/8 inches chip in the top flare area, which hopefully would be hidden when shade is in place.

The second is more complex, being divided into 4 sections by vertical columns, with a raised double rose bouquet of pink with blue ribbons in each resulting section, and a vertically ribbed top and lower section which are pink. The flowers look hand-painted. Overall translucent effect. Flared part of the fitter is 2 ¼ inches; just below this, the ID is about 1 ¾ inches; OD is about 2 inches. No chips or flakes.

The third which is a tad shorter, is bell-shaped, a translucent frosted cream color shading slightly darker towards the ends and in between the 3 sections of applied flower sprays in pink, blue and green. The pink middle flower in these areas is not very sharp. Edges of the shade are smooth. Flare measures 2 1/8 inch across the fitter area; just below this the ID is 1 5/8 inches; OD is about 2 inches. There are no chips or flakes.

All have all bits of spattered paint and some dirt, either white or dark. They were probably in place when painting was done around them. I did not want to mess around trying to remove the extraneous spots for fear of disturbing the designs.

One with Mickey and one with Minnie  This dish is unusual. It has a glass top that fits on the dish. Striking and vibrant red and black on a white background, with a wrap-around fused black glass ribbon decoration for added visual punch, the handbag sculpture has a bold, retro look. Clear glass handles and flower petal closures resemble the Lucite that was so popular during the 1960’s/70’s.
