Stands about 3 inches tall 4.5 inch diameter. Gorgeous condition with no chips, cracks, stains, cloudiness, or repairs It simply doesn't get any better than this. A peer of Fred Carder at Steuben and Douglas Nash at Tiffany, Victor Durand Jr., an immigrant from France became a highly successful glass maker in early 20th century America. Victor Durand Jr. and his father, Victor Sr., founded the Vineland Flint Glass Company in Vineland, New Jersey. Two years later, in 1899, Victor Jr. bought his father's share, and he later acquired other glass factories. In 1924, Durand established an art glass division at the Vineland plant. Leadership was provided by Martin Bach Jr. and other skilled artisans from the recently closed Quezal Art Glass Company. For seven years, these men made superb art glass. Recognition came early, when in 1926 Durand art glass was awarded a medal of honor at the Sesquicentennial International Exposition in Philadelphia. Production ended in 1931 when Durand was killed in an auto accident. Durand art glass was made in many shapes -- covered jars, bowls, vases, perfumes, powder boxes, lamps, rose bowls, finger bowls, wines, goblets, candlesticks, salad plates, whimsies -- and in a variety of decorative treatments.
