CO-OPERATIVE FLINT - CIRCA 1890 TRAILWORK PATTERN QUANTITY 1 OPEN LOOP PEDESTAL CAKE STAND MEASURES 6 INCHES HIGH AND 10 INCHES WIDE - NO CHIPS NO CRACKS -  Most likely originally a water goblet, today we’d use these for wine. This wonderfully simple paneled flint goblet with that typical flint ring, is in the pattern Pointed Stem Crystal, ca 1860’s. It resembles Huber of the same era, a subtle difference noted where the stem meets the bowl. Measures 6 ½ inches tall, and has no damage. There is no graying, chips, cracks, etc., rather exciting when you realize that this goblet is in the 150 year old range! Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #530  One of the earlier designs these flint egg cups date to the 1860’s, making them in the unbelievable age range of 150 years! Measure 3 ½ inches in height. One is mint with no damage; one has a small chip and a bruise on the top rim. Both have that great flint bell ring when tapped lightly. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 2 1/2 lbs. from 06068. #517  This very heavy pressed flint master salt was made by B&S ca 1850-1875. Listed in Barlow & Kaiser # 1485, where they compare it to a similar salt by Bakewell Pears. It measures 3 ½ inches wide x 2 ½ inches tall. There are a lot of small flat flakes and nicks on most of the edges, and a few fold lines consistent with era of manufacture. Flakes are not uncommon for old 140+ year old flint, since flint is brittle. The higher rounded areas are in good shape. There are 6 sides and a manufacturer-ground base.

Wonderful flint ring to this tall, heavy, old clear flint celery in the Tong pattern, c 1850-1860’s, mfgr. unknown. This is an early one with a polished pontil and lots of under-base wear. Nice thumbprint/geometric design with a slight twist to the stem and a few fold-lines in the lower section. There is graying inside (water damage), most obvious in the lower third. There are no chips or cracks, and considering its age and obvious use, it is a stately oldster. Measures 7 1/2" tall. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 5 lbs. from 06068. #465  Lovely true open compote, with scalloped rim, in the pattern Ribbed Ivy, by Boston & Sandwich, c 1850. Bowl & stem are joined by a wafer; foot is patterned. Bell-tone flint ring when pinged. Measures 7 7/8" wide x 5 ¼" high. Good condition with only 2 shallow flakes on the outside of the foot (one is about 1/2") & about 4 small flat flakes under the foot. The top is undamaged. Super condition for 150 years old flint. Any off-color is a reflection; glass is clear & bright. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 6 lbs. from 06068. #255

EAPG: TONG pattern flint celery $44.10

EAPG: Sandwich Flint: Ribbed Ivy LS comp $131.25

Interesting small compote, with some lead content. There is a ping, but not as high pitched as pure flint. I believe that this may be a (flint/soda lime) transition piece. Made with a wafer, there are double prisms in the main part of the bowl, & a swirl pattern in the bowl base. The bowl is joined to the 8 columned stem with a hot wafer. Measures 7 3/8" wide x 4 ¼" high. Mild roughness along upper inner mold line; broken surface bubble under inner part of foot. Guesstimated to be c 1870-90. Any off-color is a reflection; glass is clear & bright. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #253  Considered one of the "aristocrats" of pattern glass by Metz, this flint compote in the pattern Diamond Thumbprint is 9 ¼" wide x 7 ¼- 7 ½" tall. It is a true open compote, scalloped rim, wafer construction, with HS (high standard) of matching foot pattern, and extremely heavy (almost 4 ½ lbs.). Made by B&S (Boston & Sandwich), & Union Glass Co., c 1850, the flint ring is as exquisite as the glass is brilliant & bright. One chip to one scallop (photos show one chip from 2 angles). See my other listing for the 2nd compote in the same size & pattern. I bought these as a pair, each with one scallop chip. Both display well. This one also has a flat broken surface bubble on the foot edge.

A flint spooner in the early pattern known as Honeycomb, possibly the Vernon variant (see Watkins pg. 98). Has the characteristic flint ping; typical interior wear from spoons being dropped in over many years. No chips or cracks. Height: 5 ½".

Looking like a relative of Huber, Crystal is a flint pattern without the angular knopf under the bowl, & a slightly slimmer 6 sided stem. But the bowl is also 10 panel like Huber. Made by McKee Bros, c 1859. Super flint bell-tone ring. One has a flat chip on the foot. One has 2 small edge of the foot flakes, these barely noticeable. Both have under the base use wear. Height is 6 ½".

Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 4 lbs. from 06068. #145

These are amazing. As I slide them across my wooden table they sing that wonderful flinty ring that I just love. Naturally a gentle tap evokes the same bell-tone flint ring. Classic early Huber, straight Huber I believe, these flint goblets are early, c 1860, made by several manufacturers; McKee 1859, et al. There are 10 panels in the bowl; 6 sides to the stem. Each goblet is heavy, coming in at over 1 lb. Two are in near perfect condition, with just age wear under the foot. One has a shallow flake off the foot step. One has a chip off one of the points under the bowl. Both are quite subtle & certainly don’t disrupt function or beauty. Height is 6 ½". See my other listing for a pair of Crystal flint goblets & 2 other Huber.

Though not true flint, this brilliant clear high quality blown in mold (BIM) flip glass was made in limited edition for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MMA, by Imperial Glass 1982. Has rows of plain, diagonal swirl, diamond diapering, vertical rounded ribbing; similar to McKearin GII-18 (?); pontil & MMA under base. 6" ht. It’s almost impossible to find the originals after which these are modeled, probably because they were so fragile. The originals date back prior to pressed glass, 1825 or earlier! Comes with a copy of an old recipe for a yard of flannel, a drink with ale, eggs, etc. Originally, a hot poker was put into the liquid in the container in order to warm the contents…quick hot drinks the old way! NO damage. #101

This is a true (never had a lid) open FLINT compote by Boston & Sandwich, c 1850-70. Looks like Barlow & Kaiser’s # 1148, except for the size. Called "Pressed Loop (Leaf) Dish on Foot" in B&K. Super bell-tone ring; wafer construction. 7" wide x 5 3/4" tall. 9 loops around both top & base. 3 flakes to top, 3 small flakes/nicks to base, some minor nicks to hi points; age appropriate base wear. BV for #1148= $225. #107
