This opalescent glass bowl is decorated with gold and red in the goofus glass style. Measures 11 in. diameter. A peach and leaf pattern. Stands 3.5 in. tall. In good condition with some loss of paint. Please view images carefully. No chips, nicks, etc. Possibly produced by the Indiana or Dugan Glass Co. No way to be certain.  A goofus glass plate that measures 5.5 in. diameter. Displays a red thistle pattern. The back is very bright and so I think this may have been resprayed, repainted. No chips or cracks. Attractive to display.  Antique Goofus Glass Grape Large Candy Fruit Compote. Goofus glass is pressed glass which was cold, unfired paint decorated in the early 20th century in America by several prominent glass factories. It was made in considerable quantities and sold originally for very little. It was given as premiums for buying things, awarded as prizes at fairs, and was the first carnival glass preceding the iridized product we refer to as carnival glass today. The most common colors used were gold, red, and green with gold usually being the predominant color. Indiana Glass Company in Dunkirk, Indiana was possibly the most prolific producer of Goofus Glass. It was not known by that name initially, but gained the name possibly because the painted decoration wasn't very durable and people felt perhaps that it was "goofy" or that someone had tried to "goof - us".

More attractive pieces preceding Indiana's offerings existed as turned out by the Dugan Diamond Company and Northwood Glass. It is extremely difficult to pinpoint the exact time of start and finish of this exclusively American glass making phenomena. It has been thought to have started around 1900 and was all but effectively ended by 1930.

This piece was made by either Northwood or Dugan, it is an extremely large piece and is a seldom seen style. It has a pattern of grapes and vines, is 8 3/4 inches tall, 9 1/2 inches across the top, base is 5 inches. This piece has a lot of detail to it, top is ruffled, the stem is six sided and a sort of sawtooth edging, has a three part mold and the paint is almost completely intact. There are a few spots that has some loss and two leaves with a bit more of loss then the other spots. Beautiful piece in remarkable condition that would be a lovely addition to your collection!  I just love the old goofus glass such as this bon bon dish. The gold sets off the roses on this Rose

and Lattice dish. Very tiny pin holes here and there in the paint. Stands 1" tall by 6" wide. With

the center indent it could be used as a saucer, however I have never seen cup and saucers in

goofus so I am labeling it a Bon Bon dish.

Goofus Glass Bowl, Opalescent $55.00

Goofus Glass Plate Thistle Ptn. $27.50

Antique Goofus Glass Grape Large Candy F $134.99

Rose and Lattice Goofus Glass Bon Bon $20.00

Featured is a gorgeous antique cake plate. The floral pattern is of roses, thistles, daisies and

more. The pattern is raised on the top side. Then gold was added to bring out the pattern. I have

not been able to find a maker. It is in great condition. There is wear to the gold not a lot and

mostly in the center. The star like legs show wear from age. No chips, cracks or dings. Measures

11 1/2" across.

Featured for your enjoyment is a stunning old goofus glass plate. This shows off two apples on

their branch in the center. The rim is a very detailed pattern of thistles and scrolls. Very Victorian

pattern. There is at least 95% of the paint remaining. It has no chips or cracks. A very unusual pattern in exemplary condition. Stands 1" tall by 8 3/8"

across.

Featured for your enjoyment is a lovely old goofus glass console bowl. This is so shallow

it is almost a plate, almost. This has paint loss to the red iris’s on the sides mainly. Too

bad as it is a wonderful pattern. The red iris in the center is in great condition. No chips or

cracks. Stands 1 3/4" tall by 10 5/8" across.

A lovely vintage bowl that measures 11.75 in. diameter. Stands 3.5 in. tall. This bowl is decorated with an embossed peach motif and an opalescent edge. This type of glass is very hard to find in fairly good condition as the gilt used washes off easily. This one has approx. 90% of the color intact. No chips, etc. Unmarked and many companies produced this type of glass in the '20's-'40's era so is unidentifiable as to maker.
