Glass: Pattern Glass

What's New in the Collector's Showcase of Glass: Pattern Glass?
The Most Recent Additions to This Category are First!
I believe this is a jelly compote made by U.S. Glass circa 1891 in the pattern Rosette. It stands 4-1/2 inches height, 4-3/8 inches across rim, 3-1/4 inches across base. Condition: vintage, used, no chips or cracks, normal manufacturing imperfections; a grain of sand within the glass, air bubbles and straw marks.

This early American pressed glass large bowl was made around 1904 by McKee Glass Company. The pattern is called Aztec Sunburst and was part of their Pres-Cut line. It measures 9 inches diameter by 3-3/8" deep. There are a few typical small bubbles in the glass but no chips, scratches, cloudiness or damage and is crystal clear.

Late 1800s Early American Pressed Glass cruet in the Late Block or Duncan Block (Waffle) pattern by US Glass Company. US Glass obtained the mold from Duncan Glass where this pattern originated. There is a swirl of glass pontil type mark on the bottom of the cruet, so it may be the earlier Duncan version.

The cruet is 5-1/2" high including the faceted stopper. There is no damage to the cruet or stopper, just a bit of light mold line roughness inside the rim where the stopper sits. When sold in pairs, one cruet always had a purposeful dot of glass at the top of the handle, this one has the dot.

Heavy glass bowl in tulip shape with scalloped rim.

It measures 8 1/4" in diameter and is 5 1/2" high.

CONDITION: Excellent with no chips or cracks and very clear glass.

CONDITION: They are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Glass is very clear.

EAPG creamer measures 4 1/2" tall.

CONDITION: Very good except for a very tiny nick to the underneath of the spout.  Northwood Glass company produced this wonderful green EAPG novelty dish in the pattern known as Poppy Variant a.k.a. Poppy Scroll. It has a wonderful fluted pointed edge with a Poppy & Scroll design, with a beaded ring around the center Poppy. It is approximately 7 1/4 inches in diameter and in remarkable condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. The glass is crisp and clean and due to it's condition it probably was a cabinet piece.

This is a set of 6 egg cups in Grape Bunch pattern, possibly made by Greentown ca.1900.

They measure 3 1/2" tall, with a 2" rim.

CONDITION: Three have a VERY small nick to the interior rim. Someone had a tendency to tap those eggs a little too hard! There are no other condition issues.

This EAPG celery vase has a beautiful clear bottom with a daisy, fan and bullseye pattern. The top is ruby flash with a scalloped rim. I have not been able to identify the pattern or maker.

It measures 5 3/4" tall with a 4" diameter rim.

Stunning old celery vase from Higbee Glass. This is their 1914 pattern, Gala. It is clearly marked inside the bottom with the Higbee bee. It stands 5 ½" tall by 6" across the handles. The slight flare to the rim sets off the pressed cane pattern. It is in excellent condition.  Beautiful old compote from Imperial Glass. This is their 1912 pattern #212 AKA Diamond and Fan from their Nucut line. It is in excellent condition. Hope I am this good looking at 100! It stands 6 1/4" tall by 3" wide.

Imperial Diamond and Fan #212 Bud Vase $25.00

Beautiful old compote from Imperial Glass. This is their 1912 pattern #212 AKA Diamond and Fan from their Nucut line. It is in very good condition with one saw tooth having a small chip. Hope I am this good looking at 100! It stands 4" tall by 4 ¾" wide.  This clear tumbler was made by Tarentum Glass Co. for a short time, 1904-1905. The design is an unusual geometric which I won’t attempt to define. Measures 3 ¾ inches in height and 3 inches across the top. There is a 26 point star in the base. The base is a bit odd, in that uneven pieces of glass are noted just inside the manufacturer-ground section of the base. There is a hint of graying, but only inside the base. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, quite nice, unusual tumbler. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 1 ½ lbs. from 06068. #553  Also known as Pretty Band, the maker of this square compote with lid is unknown. The design consists of relief flowers in the square corners, and an engraved berry and fern design between on the flat sections. A beauty from a bit of a distance, this compote with lid has its problems: stress lines along the upper edge, several small chips and flakes along the edges, and a shallow flake off the finial; most of these were difficult to photo since they are not that big. Measures 9 ¾ inches tall with the lid x 6 1/4 inches wide. Price reflects condition. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 5 lbs. from 06068. #518  Although this pattern has been reproduced, I believe that this is an original Roman Rosette dish made by Bryce Walker, ca 1875, and US Glass # 15030 ca 1891. There are faint stress lines along the top outer edge, a few minor nicks in only one corner, no major damage. Measure 8 ½ inches long x 4 inches wide x 1 ½ inches tall. The background of the design is pebbled consistent with age, while repros have a pitted background. (see Jenks book on repros). Glows faint yellow under UV. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 1 1/2 lbs. from 06068. #526

Of the 2 pieces of a butter dish, lid and base, the base was more likely to have been broken. This emerald green butter base has remnants of gold along the edge, with 1 flat chip on 1 pt (about ¾ inch), and 1 flake, 1 small chip on the inner part of the inner rim. Glass is a bright beautiful green. Made by Tarentum Glass of PA, ca 1898, there are no known reproductions. Measures 8 ½ inches across x 1 1/8 inch height. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 2 1/2 lbs. from 06068. #514  Also known as Herringbone, this emerald green butter lid is in great condition. As one of the US Glass original states patterns, USG no. 15056, Florida was introduced in 1898. Measures 5 3/8 inches across x 4 inches tall. There is mild roughness along the inner mold line, but no chips; there are a few bubbles in the glass. No base. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #513  This is a rare find. It is the Pennsylvania pattern from United States Glass AKA U.S. Glass from 1898. It is their celery vase. Now the inside bottom has a lot of tiny flecks of glass that did not come out clean in the molding. Sort of like stuck on salt crystals. This is from the factory and NOT considered a defect in any way by me. It stands 3 ¾" tall by 4" wide. I also have a wine stem in this pattern with gold trim.  Lovely old pattern by United States Glass AKA U.S. Glass. This is their 1898 pattern, Pennsylvania with the gold rim. Some minor wear to the gold. It stands 4 1/4" tall by 2 ¼" across and is in otherwise excellent condition. I also have the hard to find celery vase in this pattern.

Westmoreland Glass produced this beautiful EAPG tall compote in the pattern known as No 575, better known as Fern Wheel a.k.a Paddle Wheel circa 1907. This comport is approximately 8.00 inches tall, base is 3 3/4 inches in diameter and the top is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The glass is crisp and clean with no sickness. On one side of the top you can feel a rough spot that feels like scrap, but with the reflection of the glass you have a hard time seeing anything. On the stem of the compote there is a very small nick, and the mold lines are rough and were never polished over. We tried to capture this in photos, but just couldn't, but we also included a photo of the stem also. Also common to this time are inclusion bubbles. which this piece has. It is a wonderful piece of very old glass in good condition, and in a form not easily found.  'Blue Jay' or 'Cardinal' footed spooner or large jelly, clear glass with molded bird design (different on each side, see additional picture), and threaded rim. Piece has slight roughness on top rim and flaws on the base, otherwise in very good condition.
