Glass: Pressed Glass

What's New in the Collector's Showcase of Glass: Pressed Glass?
The Most Recent Additions to This Category are First!
This terrific syrup pitcher has to be at least 75 years old because it is starting to turn purple. Pitcher is 4 1/2" tall and 3" in diameter at the widest point. Does have a little chip on the spout, but otherwise in great shape.  Outstanding vintage pressed glass butter dish. Have not located this pattern yet. The finial on the lid and the bottom plate have some very tiny bubbles in the glass; and it has one teensy flake off interior bottom rim of lid which is not really visible; it is detectable more by touch than sight; no other fleaspecks on this beauty! Overall condition is what I would call very good. It stands 6 tall, plate is 7.25 wide. A very elegant old butter dish to use at your next dinner party!  Gorgeous antique EAPG celery vase. c: early 20th C. Two handled celery vase in the 'Hobstar Band' pattern. The books on pressed glass and carnival glass show this pattern but the maker of this pattern is not yet unidentified; the book's author thinks it is either an early Imperial glass pattern, or a U.S. Glass pattern. This vase is 6 tall x 4.25 wide, and in good antique display condition; there is just one surface flake off bottom rim. It is a beautiful vase to use or just display! Will fit right into a Victorian or traditional style room!  Bell Shaped Pressed Glass Centerpiece. This 15" tall center piece is shaped similar to a bell. Bottom measures 9" across with cross hatch pattern. On the inside it has 8 small drilled holes and original hooks for crystal to be displayed. Original crystals are no longer available but picture below displays a sample only on how it looked. The original owner brought this item to a glass cutter and had its bottom cut off to make into a lamp. This can certainly still be a gracious centerpiece vase for any table. In the meantime it is an unusual and conversation type piece. Price reflects discount due to this flaw.

Depression Glass Syrup Pitcher $19.95

Vintage Pressed Glass Butter Dish $120.00

Antique EAPG Celery Vase $110.00

Bell Shaped Pressed Glass Centerpiece $99.99

For sale are antique glass shakers. Gorgeous pair of pressed/pattern glass shakers with what looks like sterling silver tops. The top on one of them is a bit dinged and tarnished, but the glass on these shakers is very pretty, no chips or cracks. These have pontil marks on bottoms, and stand 3 inches tall. The pattern on these shakers match the pattern on the antique cruet bottles I also have for sale, but I do not know the pattern name.  I know that Indiana Glass Company is reproducing this pattern and I have to believe that this is a reproduction not a real depression era set. My hunch is based on the fact that there is very little wear to the bottom of the set. But it is still a lovely pattern at home with modern or traditional furnishings. The set is in perfect condition. The set measures 3 inches tall and is made with good quality clear glass. I don't see any markings.  This is a great set of pickle castors with sterling silver carrier. Has a place for the pickle fork, but is not included. Made our of pressed glass and in excellent shape, no cracks or chips.  A great pair of art nouveau glass candle holders. Holds 2 candles, and is 3 1/2" tall and 3" wide. In excellent shape, no chips or cracks.

Indiana Glass Co, Sandwich Glass Creamer $12.50

This is a beautiful deep red dish with a leaf shape. The veins are pressed into the back of the dish. It is 4.5" across. Could be used for candy or nuts.  This nappy is really a beauty. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the pattern, but look at the pics and you will see that it is a beautiful design. 5 3/4" across, not including handle. Would make a great gift.  This is a really nice Nu-cut nappy. Sorry I don't know the name of the design - but look at the pics - it's beautiful. Measures 5.5" across with no chips. Would make a wonderful gift.  This is a really beautiful dish. The trim looks like gold one time, copper the next. see pics. It is 7" across and has starburst-type designs. Very ornate and victorian looking - pictures do not do it justice.

Very pretty set with fruit design on bowl and three plates. The plates have many rim chips, which you cannot tell unless you look hard or run your fingers over them, but the bowl is perfect. Believe these are Federal Glass from the 40's, in the Pioneer pattern.  The CRYSTAL CLEAR GLASS makes these BOWLS very elegant glassware.

They feature a RAISED BLOCK PATTERN that goes from large to small from the top to the bottom.

The inside of bowl is smooth while the RAISED BLOCKS are on the outside. The base is also RAISED BLOCKS that are perfectly spaced.

A small fan and waffle patterned nappy with a starburst in the bottom that measures 41/2" square. It has tiny chips and roughness along its rim.

A large clear tray with handles, having the EAPG pattern called Pear, Double Pear or Baltimore Pear in a repeat of 3 designs. The groups of pears & leaves are raised, in high relief under the tray. Originally made by Adams 1874, USG 1891, many others copied this pattern starting in 1930 and on. This tray shows wear, and good detail (see photo) but does not glow under UV light. I cannot give an accurate dating. However, I can tell you that it is in beautiful shape, with wear as expected underneath on the high points of the pears which sit on the table; an occasional odd mark, but nothing too distracting, & no chips or flakes, not even on those nice points! Measures 12 ¼" across the handles s 10 ½" across the center.

It stands 4 tall x 4 wide one way and 5.5 from handle end to spout. No chips or cracks and just a couple of very small scratches, not detectable unless trying hard to find them. The pics are not very good, it is really much clearer than the pictures show it.   This wonderful press glass plate is so big it could be used to serve anything. It is 12" in diameter with the ruffle and star designs on the back side, which shows this was meant to be used. It is excellent shape, no cracks or chips.  For sale is a etched glass divided relish dish. This is a beautiful divided relish glass dish with frosted fruit motif on bottom of dish. It is divided into three sections for your to put olives, pickles, etc. on it. This pitcher or creamer stands 4.25 in. tall. In very good condition. No chips, cracks, etc. I don't know the name of the pattern. Looks like a floral of bluebells and daisies. Large enough to use for cereal milk or as a creamer.  This bowl was probably made by the NORTHWOOD or DUGAN GLASS COMPANY.

It features a PRESSED GLASS CARNATION and SCROLL DESIGN which is painted primarily GOLD and the FLOWERS are RED.

The carnation pattern is seldom seen in our area.

The bowl itself is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and the RED FLOWERS show some wear to the red goofus treatment but like many GOOFUS bowls the GOLD paint is worn and it is flaking / dry in places.

The bowl is not marked.

This pattern resembles Amazon, so please make sure it is the one you need. Part of the Sawtooth table set. Minor mold roughness around the top rim, shallow small flake to the side of the spout, and a tiny foot flake. (4913)
