This little hard plastic Nativity Scene Christmas ornament or tabletop display decoration was made in Hong Kong in the 1950s or 1960s and comes unused in its original box. Not quite 2 inches high, the creche scene is coated in silver glitter and in excellent condition with no damage or wear. Included is the original foil label insert reading Bea West Made In Hong Kong. The box is marked HL No. 103 Made In Hong Kong and is also in excellent condition with no damage or wear. Original 19 cents price tag is present on the top flap.

A pair of pink mold blown glass bird Christmas ornaments with spun glass tails. The larger one is pale pink with pink and clear glitter across the back, wings, beak, and top of the head. It's more than 6 inches long from beak to tail. The bird is attached to the metal clip with two coiled spring legs.

The other bird is darker pink and smaller, 5 inches long overall. It has iridescent glitter on the back and a red beak. This ornament has a single spring leg. Both birds are in excellent condition with no damage, though there is visible glue to the tail and leg areas.

This pretty vintage beaded glass Christmas ornament was made in Czechoslovakia. It's in the shape of a spider in a web, 3 inches wide by about 5-3/4 inches long to the top. A gold glass center ball "spider" is surrounded by small fused silver beads, individual tiny green beads, and silver indent beads with pink flower centers. Long silvered glass tube beads wired in a hexagonal shape form the outside parameters of the web. The ornament is in excellent condition with no breaks or damage.

This large, lovely antique Victorian tinsel framed Christmas ornament features a beautifully lithographed and embossed 3-1/2 by 5-1/2 inch German paper die-cut depicting a lady with flowers and flowing, curly black hair with a cherub behind her shoulder, all framed in a heart shape. Extending from the bottom of the heart are golden rays, stars, nosegays or tussie-mussies, and a four leaf clover. Loops of wired gold feather tinsel garland and strands of gold flat tinsel frame the diecut, with red cellophane streamers.

Overall measurements are about 5 by 8-1/2 inches. One of the red streamers is shorter than the other, probably broken off. Otherwise the ornament is in excellent condition for its 100-plus years.

Two have metal clappers and they make a pleasant ringing sound (one clapper is missing). The inside rims are marked "Bruce Pat. App. For". You usually see that patent phrase on items made in the 1940s or earlier, but I've never seen these bells before and I'm not sure exactly how old they are. Very nice condition with no damage and very little finish wear.

This very cute glittered putz snowman Christmas ornament was made in 1950s Japan. He's 3-1/2 inches tall and can stand by himself or hang from the tree. This silvered glass Doll With Tree Christmas ornament was made in 1983 West Germany by Inge-Glas from the original antique mold. The rare early German ornament is known to collectors as "Baby Girl With A Tree" and can be seen in Lightner's book Christmas Rarities, valued at $250 to $350.

The ornament is 3-3/4 inches high and is predominately pink with gold glitter decoration at the fur hat and coat trim. The ornament is in perfect, mint condition. It comes in its original box with dated certificate, also mint.

This textured pear-shape silvered glass Christmas ornament was made in West Germany by Inge-Glass from the original antique mold. It's 3 inches high with a paneled square or window pane decoration in red. A green banner with the embossed word Merry is at the lower front. The ornament is in mint condition, as is the original box and certificate numbered 7488 and dated 1983.

This figural glass candle Christmas ornament as a clip-on type, made by Inge-Glas in 1983 West Germany. About 4 inches high not including the metal clip, it's silvered with a white finish, red spiral stripes, molded gold wax drips and a gold flame. The ornament is in mint condition and comes in its original box with certificate numbered 7406 and dated January 1983. The box and paperwork are also mint.

A pretty 1930s blown beaded glass Christmas ornament from Czechoslovakia. It's 2-1/2 inches diameter, formed by two concentric mercury glass rings in green and chartreuse. Wired to the center are mercury glass bead ornaments in red and gold to form a cross shape. There is some finish wear consistent with age, particularly to the red ornaments, but no chips or breaks.

If this 1930s German glass Santa Claus Christmas ornament still had its original chenille legs, it's book value would be around $200. As you can see from the last photo, the chenille legs are no longer present but you can easily add replacements if you wish.

The ornament is 3-1/2 inches high. Santa carries a green pine tree and has a flesh colored hand painted face and painted white beard. There's some normal inner mercury silvering loss near the top, rub wear to the red coat at the back and the elbows, all minor considering the ornament's age. No chips or breaks, the ornament displays wonderfully.

Three miniature blown glass figural Christmas ornaments - two lamps and a mushroom. They're just 1-1/2 to 2 inches high. The lamps are pink and silver, decorated with silver glitter leaves on the shades. The mushroom has a pink with white polka dots cap, painted green grass at the base, and an indent at the lower center of the stem with a tiny piece of green fern. I'm including a bonus mushroom ornament, identical to the other but it has a chip or hole at the back side of the cap - it still displays fine.

A rare and unusual old hand painted composition Christmas ornament from Japan depicting a black man wearing a red fez hat. It's 3-3/4 inches long and has faded red chenille legs with mercury glass bead feet. There are some nicks and small chips around the top of the head and at the bottom where the legs attach but the wear is consistent with age and not objectionable. A very displayable and scare piece of Christmas Black Memorabilia.

Silver tone train. Heavy for its size 1 1/2 X 2 inches, bright enamel colors of red, green and blue. Condition - good.

Christmas Precious Moments2010 Ornament By Sam Butcher. The Ornament was made in Indonesia and it is 3 1/2 inches long and 2 5/8 inches wide.  This German made figural glass Christmas ornament is are in the form of a passenger car. The shape resembles a Volkswagen Bug or Beetle and is therefore sometimes called a VW ornament by collectors, though in actuality it resembles a lot of 1930s and early 1940s era automobiles.

The mercury silvered ornament is 3 inches long and has a pike "tailpipe" at the back and an embedded metal hanger on the roof. The color is bright brownish or brick red with black or very dark brown trim, the headlights are painted yellow, and the wheel rims are painted white. There's a little light paint wear around the edges of the ornament as shown. This type of ornament was made in Germany before World War II and again just after the war in Western Germany - I'm not sure which time frame it belongs to.

This 1950s West Germany dimensional dome-scene type Christmas ornament features a paper mache and spun cotton composition Santa figure inside a clear blown glass ball dome. The cute hand painted Santa holds two little green bottle brush trees and is decorated with white mica glitter "fur" on his coat and hat. The glass ornament is decorated on the outside with white painted scallops and stars. The ornament is about 2-1/2 inches diameter and in excellent condition. A little glitter dust is caught inside the glass ball - that and glare made the pictures come out poorly.

An American made hard plastic red-nosed reindeer Christmas ornament with the name Rudolph embossed on one side, made in the 1940s. It's about 3-1/2" tall. The reindeer has a molded loop on its back for hanging on the tree but will stand up by itself. In very good vintage condition with no damage and little wear. The collector book Christmas 1940-1959 states that the ornament was made by Rosbro Plastics.

Two Micro Shiny Brite Christmas Balls - $5.00

A Christmas ball marked CALI, the other unmarked. These ornaments are approx. 3 in. tall. Conditions good.   Wonderful old chenille Santa Claus Christmas ornament figure made in Japan. The Santa elf has an expressive hand painted clay face, real cotton beard, and holds a green pipe cleaner tree. Some color fading to the fluffy chenille, otherwise good condition. About 4 inches long not including the steel hanging hook.

Koala sitting in a tree, 3" tall, very good. About 16 years old.  This box of late 1930s to very early 1940s glass Shiny Brite Christmas ornaments consists of early shapes in shades of pink, red, and gold. All of the shapes were discontinued before or during World War II.

Two are round and bumpy textured red balls, about 2-1/4" diameter. Two others are Oriental style lantern shapes with thin horizontal ribbing in pink and gold. At 3-1/4 inches high, they are the largest of two sizes made.

The other eight ornaments are round golf ball style or quilted waffle-weave shapes, 2 inches or so diameter. They are in various shades of pink and red from light to bright magenta, with two gold and two others 2-tone shaded pink and gold. There are no chips or breaks and the ornaments are in very good condition for their 70-odd year age. Some have some darkening near the tops from age deterioration of the inner silvering. The early to mid 1940s Shiny Brite box is in good condition with one corner split to the lid flaps and some numbers written on the lid.

Clay Face Chenille Vintage Santa Claus F $20.00

Koala on Tree Christmas Ornament $7.00

Box Shiny Brite 1930s Pink Gold Red Shap $66.00

Six Mid Century glass Christmas ornaments from West Germany with multiple star flower colorfully tinted indent centers on both sides. The one 3-1/2" high teardrop shape ornament has the same type of decorated center but it's older, made in 1930s Germany,

The other five are round, 2-3/4 inches diameter" two each green and red, one gold. Three have white mica flower petal decoration around the center openings on both sides, the 2 red ornaments are decorated with white painted comma-stroke leaf decoration. There is some wear to the mica glitter and mild spotting to the outer finishes from age and handling. The teardrop ornament has some flaking to the red paint at the top and bottom as well as a whitish, cloudy coloring from inner silvering loss. The non-original ornament box is in good condition but is missing the cellophane lid window.

A boxed set of four large Polish blown glass Christmas ornaments with attractive glittered and hand painted village church scenes on both sides. They are more than 3 inches diameter by nearly 4 inches high to the metal caps. There are two red, one gold, and one blue ornament, all with the same pretty village scene with silver glitter snow on the rooftops, yellow lighted windows, starry skies, and green pine trees. The original price tag on the box of only $2.77 for these beauties suggests they date to no later than the early or mid 1960s. The ornaments look virtually unused with no damage or wear and the box is in very good condition as well.

Most of the 12 unsilvered glass Christmas ornaments in this boxed set were made by Shiny Brite during the 1940s World War II years - 2 were made by a different American manufacturer. During that time silver nitrate was needed for military use and unavailable to ornament manufacturers, so for three or four Christmas seasons they used painted, flashed, and sprayed-on transparent and opaque colors without silvering.

All of the ornaments have white and colored painted horizontal stripes or bands, two are also decorated with white and colored mica glitter. They are very colorful in shades of green, blue, purple, pink, and red with rainbow and pastel stripes. The two ornaments with the grayish-green background color are semi-opaque rather than clear and are very unusual.

The ornaments are about 2 inches diameter by 2-1/4" high. They're all in fabulous condition for this type of unsilvered ornaments - little if any of the usual color flaking, paint scratches, or wear common to most American war ornaments and the colors are still bright. The two with mica decoration have some typical minor glitter loss. The 1940s Corning Glass Works box has tape and splits to the lid corners but is intact.

An unusual and beautiful 2-1/2 inch diameter Shiny Brite 1940s Christmas ornament produced during World War II when ornament decorators and manufacturers could not obtain silvering agents due to military restrictions. It has a transparent 2-tone airbrushed finish shading from deep magenta pink at the top to teal blue at the bottom. In the center of the ornament on both sides is the the classic moon, planets and stars space scene. The white stenciled design is sprinkled with mica glitter.

Most war ornaments were decorated with stripes if at all, stenciled scenes were much less common and this airbrushed shaded finish is rarely found. The metal cap is marked Shiny Brite Made In U.S.A. The ornament has quite a bit of finish wear (paint flaking) to the pink coloring at the top and is priced accordingly.

Box West Germany Multi Star Indent Glass $48.00

Box Poland Large Glittered Church Scene $44.00

Box Shiny Brite Colorful Stripes Unsilve $89.00

Shiny Brite Unsilvered Moon Planets Sten $30.00

This figural glass Christmas ornament is made of unsilvered mold blown glass, painted in opaque colors. It's just over 4 inches tall, and appears to be a representation of a Father Christmas or early Santa Claus figure in a white robe or coat holding a rooster.

It's in very good condition with little wear to the painted finish at the sleeves and one elbow as shown. The metal cap is not marked but the ornament was probably made in Eastern Europe between the 1930s and 1950s.

These three double indent glass Christmas ornaments are among the very earliest American ornaments, made by Premier Glass Works in the mid to late 1930s and are not easy to find today. The larger yellow-gold ornament is 2-1/2" diameter by 3-1/4" high and has a ribbed or rayed pattern indent center on both sides.

The two smaller red ornaments are 1-3/4" diameter by a little over 2" high. They have embossed 5-point stars in the recessed centers. All three ornaments have the original, earliest Premier tin caps marked Premier Made In U.S.A. This company made some of the most attractive American ornaments in the 1930s and 1940s with nice quality finishes that stood up very well over the years, and these are no exception. All three are in wonderful condition for being about 75 years old.

These 2-1/2" silvered glass Christmas ornaments are beautiful. They have hand painted pink roses, rosebuds, and green leaves. You'll find one or two occasionally, rarely more than a couple, nestled in a box of older American made glass ornaments. I'm not sure who made them, but they apparently stopped being produced by the mid 1940s if not sooner, no doubt because they were so labor intensive to produce. They're somewhat scarce for USA made ornaments of this era and it's hard to gather a set of them.

The two ornaments are in good vintage condition with no breaks or chips, just some inner mercury silvering loss resulting in a pearly white coloring, and a little paint wear to some of the green leaves. The metal caps are marked "Made in U.S. of A. " - the word "of" generally being associated with pre-1945 ornaments. If you like the Shabby Chic or Cottage style look, these wonderful vintage ornaments will put those mass-produced new China imports to shame.

These pretty grape cluster shape mold blown glass Christmas ornaments were made in Japan between 1910 and 1920. The glass is actually colored green, not sprayed or painted with some type of finish. The two ornaments are about 2-3/4 inches high. The inner mercury silvering has degraded with age, so that the ornaments are almost completely transparent. The coloring remains bright and even of course as the color is within the glass, not applied. There is no damage to the thin, fragile glass and the ornaments are in excellent condition aside from the normal silvering loss.

This unsilvered glass Christmas ornament is from the 1940s World War II era, patriotically decorated with transparent red and blue and painted white stripes. During the war, silver nitrate was needed for military use, so manufacturers made do with unsilvered decoration for the 1942 through 1945 Christmas seasons. Soon the supply of metal ornament caps was exhausted and there was no metal for making more, so paper and cardboard caps had to be used.

The ornament is 2-3/4 inches diameter by about 3 inches high and it has the scarce paper cap with string hanger. There are no chips or breaks but there is some wear and flaking to the transparent colors, particularly the red.

Lovely little old porclain Elves made in JAPAN during the late 1940s to 1950s. Some paint lose but condition is good. Stamped in red ink on bottom - JAPAN. Red ink stamp marks on bottom.  These silvered glass Christmas ornaments are marked West Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Poland on the caps, made in the 1980s and 1990s. Five of the caps are unmarked. Described in order staring with the second photo:

Angel in blue gown with pink mica star and wings, double sided Santa Claus face (same on both sides) with white mica beard and fur, child or baby head in white mica cap on bumpy green disc.

Gold nautilus sea shell, cat face.

Purple cluster of grapes with green leaf cap, stippled red strawberry, Inge Glas blushed orange and yellow pear with Venetian dew clear glitter and fabric leaf, copper and gold glittered ribbed and embossed nut or cone.

Filled Christmas stocking, gold boot with white mica cuff and holly, gold shoe with glitter trim.

The largest ornament is the gold shoe at 4-3/4" long, the smallest is the cat at 2-1/4" high. All are in excellent condition with no damage and little to no wear.

12 Nice European Figural Glass Christmas $39.00

One dozen Mid Century Shiny Brite 2 inch glass Christmas ornaments in the shape of bells. Most are decorated with colored stripes, three have colored and white mica glitter trim. Two of the bells are plain solid colors. Most have some degree of scratching to the paint or finish wear but there are no chips or breaks. All have their correct Shiny Brite metal caps. They come in a vintage plain white Shiny Brite box bottom with no lid.

A pair of unusual, seldom found 1940s silvered glass Christmas ornaments by Premier Glass Works. They are stylized hourglass or lantern shape with bulging stacked rings cinched at the center. Both have bright pink colored bands or stripes surrounding dark green and chartreuse center stripes respectively. The metal caps are marked Made In U.S. of A. The ornaments are 3-1/4" high, both in excellent condition with good, vibrant color and very little wear from age or handling.

A pair of mouth blown German smoking pipe Christmas ornaments, about 4-1/4 inches long. They are "blowies" - when you blow into the stem, the thin metal discs embedded in the bowls cause a flute-like sound (one works better than the other due to the placement of the metal disc). One is painted red, the other peacock blue with silver stems and hand painted flowers and leaves decoration at the bowl.

There's some normal silvering loss and some paint wear as shown, no chips or breaks. These free blown ornaments almost always came with plain wire loop hangers inserted into the pikes but not metal caps. The original owner added tin caps to the tops. Price is for the set of two ornaments.

This antique German "Face in a Curved Pine Cone" glass Christmas ornament is also called Jack Frost. About 3-1/4 inches high, it would have a book value of $125 to $175 for the "normal" plain face. However, this ornament has a rare brown painted face rather than the still scarce but more common white or flesh tone face. The silvered ornament has a white mica glitter encrusted beard and an amber tinted pinecone back. The face is well molded and very expressive, the paint is in good overall condition with minimal scratches and wear considering that this type of paint was very prone to flaking.
