Holiday and Seasonal: Fathers Day

What's New in the Collector's Showcase of Holiday and Seasonal: Fathers Day?
The Most Recent Additions to This Category are First!
Checker flag neck tie , Daytona 500(50 years) Beanie bear. This little guy is 9 inches long , red in color with pristine tags. Born in 1995 and filled with P.E. pellets  This bear looks as if he just rolled out of the hands of its maker. The tags are show ready. Happy Fathers Day  This glass cocktail shaker has bands of red at the top and bottom containing white pictures of sports gear. It also has larger pictures of a sailboat and a golfer on opposite sides of the glass, depicted in red, white and black. Between and under these two larger pictures are recipes for mixed cocktails, including a Manhattan, a Sidecar, a Daiquiri, and a Bronx (a new one on me!) This shaker is in excellent condition and has a metal cap with a cork band around it to keep it snug. It was made by Hazel Atlas and would make a wonderful vintage addition to anyone's bar.  With its bright coloration and geometric pattern, this mallard duck box would be the perfect gift for any Dad. Handpainted and marked by Noritake, this box measures 5" tall, with a 5.5" by 4" base and is in like-new condition. The green and burgundy colors are highlighted with yellow, gray and tan. Although labeled a candy box, it would be equally at home on your desk to hold paper clips or other supplies.

Three bestsellers in one delightful volume. With his own particular brand of wry, tongue-in-cheek humor, Patrick F. McManus spins riotously amusing slice-of-life stories of men, women, and their adventures in the great outdoors.

The laughter will start right at the clever titles:<b> 'A Fine and Pleasant Misery,' 'Never Sniff a Gift Fish,' and 'They Shoot Canoes, Don't They?' </b>

Full of enjoyable exposés such as <font color=blue>'All You Ever Wanted to Know About Live Bait but Were Afraid to Ask,' 'Psychic Powers of Outdoorsmen,' 'Mountain Goats Never Say Cheese,' and 'The Night Grandma Shot Shorty.'</font>

The 80 slice-of-life stories here will give readers hours of pleasure. McManus takes the wildly unpredictable aspects of outdoorsmanship and reveals, with humor and wit, the pitfalls and triumphs of man (and woman) versus nature.

The book is in As New condition with no apparent defects, inside or out! The dust jacket is Very Good overall, with minor edge/corner wear.

Authors John & Patricia Gottfried say the way to learn about wine is not to read about it, but to drink it.

Their book, <b>A Wine Tasting Course: Practical Way to Know and Enjoy Wine</b> teaches you how to drink different wines under an organized self-study course plan to truly learn about wine the only practical and useful way: by taste, not by memorizing place names.

Graded tasting is included for specific wines from each group by name, year and sometimes even label. These tastings demonstrate the characteristics of the world's main wines (from France, Italy, Germany, California, Spain and Portugal) and the relationships among them.

You don't have to pay a lot to get an enjoyable wine if you know you can bank on your own taste and experience.

Both the book and its dust jacket are in As New condition with no apparent defects, inside or out!

Many volumes have been written about wine. Most are encyclopedic, many are tedious, and some tell us far more then we feel we need to know. What we really need is a down-to-earth, unpretentious guide to the world of wines.

Here it is! Author George Rainbird, publisher of many books on wine, has written this hardbound book as a succinct yet detailed study of the purchasing of wine by country, year and purpose, and the savoring of it by appreciative non-connoisseurs.

It includes a complete guide to good wines and their enjoyment, plus the latest vintage chart.

The book is in Very Good condition with only very light edge/corner wear. The dust jacket is Good overall, with some edge/corner wear and a small tear at top and bottom of spine.

In this showy cuff link-tie clip set, a charioteer leads a jumping pair of horses and carries a red pennant. This set was made by Swank in the mid 20th C. The finish is a silvertone metal that does not seem to tarnish. The links are 1" square. The tie clip is 1 1/2" long. Very nice. A great gift.  This classic mans ring has a nice intaglio cut into hematite. This is a good looking Roman warrior head, facing right. It is in a 10K gold mounting. It is size 8 3/4 (or a tight 9). It probably is from the mid 20th C. I could not find the makers name, whose mark is "FCCO".  This nicely carved apple jade piece sits in a fairly simple sterling mounting.

The carving is a small orchid type flower with leaves at the sides and below. This is a size 8, so could be worn by a man or a woman. This has no marks, but has been tested as Sterling silver. The jade in this is a fine quality, clean with nice coloring. The stone is about 1/2" long.

His Turn to Cook: Better Homes 1983 $5.00

Swank Cuff Link Tie Clip set - Roman Cha $50.00

Vintage Mans Ring - Intaglio Warrior $100.00

Vintage Carved Jade Mans Ring Sterling $175.00

This is a lovely little dish or ashtray carved of a soft brown mottled soapstone.

The decoration i s a plum blossom and leaves at one side. Nicely carved. It is 3 1/4" by 4 3/4". This is a simple but elegant piece. Perfect as a gift.  Here is a great paperweight in tortoise shell glass created with brown spots mixed in a deep amber base glass. It is a tomato shape. This is old, probably well before the 1950s. It is about 4" diameter and 2 1/2" high. A nice collectors item that would make a great gift.  This pretty pair of ashtrays by Wedgwood are light blue jasperware. White grapevines circle the edges.

Diameter is 3 5/8". These have incised dates of 1954. Good condition. Would make a great gift.  About 100+ years ago this 2 sided watch fob hung from some Masons watch chain. It is 1 1/2"tall && 7/8" wide & gold filled quality. No worn spots are visible. The bezel around each stone has a decorative motif. The side with the Masonic symbol, is a black/white layered stone with the black cut to create a white symbol. The other side has an orngy brown agate stone.

125*Please note that the Masonic side has a thin white horizontal line on the left. This is actually a place where the stone cutted slipped and cut the black down to the white and not a crack. This fob was probably made from 1890- 1910.

Oriental Soapstone Ashtray- Small Dish $45.00

Vintage Tortoise Shell Glass Paperweight $75.00

Pair of Small Wedgwood Ashtrays $35.00

Antique Masonic / Agate Watch Fob Double S $135.00

This Masonoic ring is beautifully designed and constructed. There are 4 different symbols enamelled and set in the sides: 32nd degree, a red cross, a scale w/stars & a sword, and what I think is a 14th degree symbol. Sorry, I

don't know my Masonic markings very well. Size 10 1/2.

It is marked as 10K-14K with the hallmark that is a C with a vertical line thru it. I could not find this maker in my reference books.

This is an estate item. I think it was from the mid 20th C.  The stone in this older Masonic mans ring is a nice clean shade of red. The masonic seal is impressed on the surface of the stone in silver. The design is modified Deco style. It is a size 10 3/4. There is no mark visible, but this tests as 10K or better. A nice looking bit of Masonic nostalgiz.  These vintage cuff links have a nice, contemporary look. The mottled gray, green agates are set in a nice curved gold plated edge.Even the backs look good. Each is 3/8" by 5/8".  This very old watch fob is a shield shape with a top that is an eagle perched on a ball (the world?). The sheld has a nice engraved scene of a village by water and has a tiny nest with 2 birds and eggs at the bottom. The edges and top piece appear to be gold filled, which the scene would be rolled gold, which is more easily engraved.

It does show some slight wear at spots on the "world" ball.

Vintage 14K Masonic Ring - 32nd+ Marking $625.00

Vintage Masonic Ring - 10K - Synthetic $325.00

Agate Cuff Links - Gray Green Stones $22.00

Antique Watch Fob - Rolled Gold & Gold F $85.00

This vintage ashtray set has 4 small individual amber glass dishes that are edged in a bronze color coated metal. The base these sit on is a ships wheel, also in a bronze finish. The spokes of the wheel are brass. Marked - Paul Dherman Co, Springfield, Ill. There is wear around the edges of the dishes and the ships wheel holder. Still, this is an unusual set that would make a great gift for the man who likes boats.  This vintage door knocker has a nautical motif. A 4 masted galleon type ship serves as the knocker. Crossed anchors are at the top of the back. This is a nice, heavy brass casting. It is 4" tall with the ship knocker part being 2 3/4". The words "Westward Ho" sit across the bottom. It is marked "Made in England".

This knocker is probbly from the mid 20th Century.  This cute clown serves as an ashtray, but could also be a candy dish. His hands are open to hold the cigrette, and his pink dotted tummy catches the ashes. He is 8 1/2" tall and his arms spread to 6". Condition is good. there are several white spots on his face where the tan glaze did not cover. He can also stand on his feet.  This happy little clown is really unique. A cigarette placed in his mouth results in smoke coming from his nose. He wears a green hat with dots. There is a little gold fly on the tip of his nose. Marked "Japan". He is 3" tall, 4" from front to back. There is a straw mark on one cheek, which would have been from the cooling at the factory.

Ships Wheel Ashtray Set - Amber Glass / Me $35.00

Vintage Brass Sailing Ship Door Knocker $68.00

Clown Motif - Ceramic Ashtray $20.00

Vintage Clown Head Smoking Ashtray $65.00

These antique cuff buttons, as they were called in the late 1800s, early 1900s are

a great gift at a reasonable price. The gold is rolled gold, which leaves a nice gold layer on the surface where it shows.

The back and post parts are gold plate.

This set has a nicely engraved monogram "S". Each is about 1" long.

Condition is good. There is a very slight bump at the edge of the "S" on one of these.  Here is a small gold nugget, mounted as a tie tac. It is 4mm by 8mm and 3mm thick.

It is mounted on a steel pin. The button and chain for the back is gold plate.

Yes, we tested this & it is real gold.  This is a lovely antique watch fob & seal.

It is sterling with a lot of openwork. The seal has a reverse monogram CVS, which when used as a seal is readable. The base seal is 3/4" by 7/8". In total, it is 1 1/4". We found not marks, but it does test as Sterling.

A very special item.  This little tie tac has a classy look.

It is vintage, dating to the 1920s.

It is 14K gold with onyx. It has a tiny

(3mm) diamond in a white gold bezel embedded into the onyx. The back and bezel holding the onyx is yellow gold.

It is 14mm by 10mm. This is small, but it has an elegant look.

Antique Rolled Gold Cuff Buttons-Links $35.00

Small Gold Nugget Tie Tac $55.00

Antique Sterling Watch Fob / Seal $175.00

Vintage 14K, Onyx, Diamond Tie Tac $145.00

This is a handsome antique ring - just in time for Fathers Day. It is rose gold with green onyx. The shank has leaflike design where it joins the top of the ring. It is size 9 1/2. The stone is 12x18mm. It is not marked, but has been tested. The gold is about 15K - a bit more than 14K, but less than 18K. 15K was common during this time period, late 1800s, early 1900s. The bottom of the shank is thinner than the sides, which appears to be intended for comfort.  This is a very large nice mug. For the winner of the pistal match in 1982. This would make a great gift for anyone. As you can see in the pictures there is a pewter meddle on the front indented in the mug. This was made by V. H. Blackinton & Co. Inc.

FREE SHIPPING!  This is a pair of steins. They are dark green in color. They have large handles for those big handed person's. On the outside is a midieval knight and the other has a saxon soldier. This would make a great gift for anyone. On the bottom is made by Arther Wood of England.
