Heavy hand made iron Blade with a carved and pinned hardwood hilt. The chopping head of this monstrous old Cleaver measures 7.5 inches long and over 5 inches tall. Including the hand carved hardwood handle, the tool measures almost 14 inches overall. Compared to the weapon used by Jason Voorhees, maniac monster of Friday the 13th movie fame, this old cleaver makes Jason's look like a child’s toy. I’m not sure what the people who made this tool were cutting with it, but they must have received a workout just from swinging this amazing old meat cleaver. Know any Butcher’s with a birthday coming up soon?

This carving set was made in the United States by Lamson and Goodnow. The knife blade was imported from Solingen, Germany. Each piece is silver mounted with heavy stag grips. The knife is 14 1/4" long and the fork is 10 1/4" long. The fork has a built-in adjustable rest. These were made in the early 1900's and are in excellent condition. This company offers life-time sharpening.
