Lamps and Lighting: Oil

What's New in the Collector's Showcase of Lamps and Lighting: Oil?
The Most Recent Additions to This Category are First!
This 7 inch tall brass finish oil lamp has a clear glass top. Definately not a new repro. Rust on the under side, 3 small cracks on the edge of the removable top. Metal bottom - slight pushed in. All the ear marks of a loveable old vintage oil lamp. The wick works - turns easy if going to light it. USA shipping cost $5.50     This used Gregorian Copper minature oil lamp does show some slight wear from usage but overall a very nice piece from the 1970s. This type of minature lamp is hard to find. Greorgian Tag on bottom. Shipping cost within the USA $6.50. Shipping cost to other countries is determined by address. No handling cost.   This lovely vintage milk glass minature oil lamp is 6-sided, footed. Condition: good, never lit. Size: 7 1/2 inches high to top of glass chimney. Condtion: no chips, hairlines.

The four-burner antique brass lamp was made during the mid-1800's when whale oil was a luxury lamp fuel. Solid hand cast brass, the lid can be raised on the center shaft to fill the font. The original font plug is missing, but we have added a rubber plug that seals the oil font. The original lamp tools consist of a wick trimmer, snuffer and poker to adjust the flame. Cloth wicks have been added and an extra supply is included with the lamp. The finial is attached. The diameter of the base is 5" and the height is 19 1/2". The original patina has been retained as we think that this is desirable rather than cleaning the brass. As you may know whale oil is banned in the United States. Jojoba oil is used as a replacement for whale oil. Refined jojoba oil is colorless and odorless. Jojoba is shelf-stable when compared with other vegetable oils. Jojoba oil is available throughout the United States and the internet.

6-sided Milk Glass Minature Oil Lamp $15.00

Oil Lamp-Antique Brass $150.00

Antique patented oil lamp. It feels like pressed glass but it has a large glass scar on the bottom like a blown glass item would and it pings like Flint glass. The brass turn pull reads: Pat. Jan. 16, 85, Feb. 11, 73. Dut to the uneven glass scar on bottom it wobbles a bit on a flat surface; this can be ground down with a grinding tool. There was no shade with it but replacements are easy to obtain. Probably a nightstand budoir lamp. 8/11brcs  Miniature oil lamp with milk glass globe. Marigold, Crackle Glass Chimney, Oil La $18.50

This beautiful Eagle (#J2030) Clear Glass Oil Lamp features hobnail detailing.I suspect that the glass chimney is a replacement. I don't know that for a fact,as it fits perfectly and I have had it like that for over 25 years so perhaps I am wrong. At any rate the base measures 7 inches high with 3 1/4 inch high "feet" on the bottom. There are some small rust spots on the burner edge which can be noted in the photo. The screw cap burner measures 3 1/4 inches across, the circumferance of the base measures 14 1/2 inches and the bottom of the footed base is 15 inches in diameter. The Chimney measures 9 inches high, and is 14 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest with the flare at the top being 3 1/4 inches across.

This lamp is a very heavy 2 1/2 pounds, and must be Double Boxed to reduce the possibility of damage in transit!

Shipping is $15.95 USA Domestic Priority (3 days). I'll take care of the Insurance.  This lovely vintage milk glass minature oil lamp was never lit. 6-sided, footed with a flower decal on each sides. Condition: good Size: 7 1/2 inches high to top of glass chimney.   This minature oil lamp has our wondeful American Eagle. While it has some slight paint lose the condition of the glass is very good with no physical damage. We owned it now for about 20 years before purchasing it from an estate sale along with other old minature oil lamps. Date unknown. Never burnt but wick works fine.   Here is a very neat antique Oil Lamp with the unique history of being an early 1900's Photographer's Dark Room oil lamp and a second, smaller, 2nd source oil light. The smaller secondary lamp is shown with the only burner i had small enough to fit the hole in the bottom of the tin lamp frame, but is not included with the lamp items being sold with this listing. The tin door on the main Ingento No.6 lamp is hinged at the top and lifts up, out of the way to reveal a dark orange colored piece of glass resting in the track formed at the front of the lamp frame. This pieces of red/orange glass would allow enough light to escape the lamp for the photographer to work by, but no so much as to ruin his pictures. The door has the raised maker markings that tell us the lamp is called a No.6 and was made by Ingento. Behind the glass sits the little tin font and burner. To light the wick or fill the font with oil, you simply unlatch the tension arm at the bottom and the lamp frame pivots up and back allowing access to the inner workings. A really neat little lamp that only measures roughly 7 inches tall but has a lot to offer for something so small in size and also comes with the very rare extension lamp frame that would have been used along with the main light. A great gift for anyone into photography.

Early Ingento Dark Room Oil Lamp & Rare $179.00

Very nice vintage red flash base oil lamp with a clear glass pearl top chimney or globe. The globe has some manufacturing creases near the base. Identification on the wick adjustment knob reads KAADEN LTD. No markings on the glass. There is some paint loss, as is common with the red flash paint. Some rust on the burner. I did not try to shine up the burner and left everything as is. You may want to shine it up or leave the rustic look. The base is two part moulded pressed glass with a ribbed top, a ring of squares and a footed-like base that is smaller than the base. No chips, cracks or repairs.  Soreno Glass Oil Lamp, Kerosene Lamp or Hurricane Lamp. Clear rippled glass base, brass burner and clear glass chimney. The chimney is not original to the piece. If you want an authentic globe, or chimney, it was an amber soreno glass chimney. I have seen them for sale on this site. Otherwise, this is still a nice set. Imagine the base filled with your favorite colored lampoil.   This is a beautiful Alladin venetian art glass lamp. It is unique and in very good condition. There are just a few very small scratches in the globe. It does not affect it's beauty.   This is a 12 1/2" tall Lamplight Farms oil lamp. This lamp has a ceramic base with a blue heart motif, rings and a clear glass shade, and original unused oil wick. This lamp has never been used and is in excellent condition.

Here is a very neat Oil Lamp with the great feature of having Kodak embossed on its shutter door. This is actually a Photographer's Dark Room oil lamp. The tin door on the front lifts up and behind it is a pieces of red/orange glass which would allow enough light to escape the lamp for the photographer to work by without ruining his pictures. The door has the raised maker markings that tell us the lamp was made by Kodak and inside the frame, behind the glass sits the little tin font and burner. To light the wick or fill the font with oil, you simply unlatch the tension arm at the bottom and the lamp frame pivots up and back allowing access to the inner workings. A really neat little lamp that only measures roughly 7 inches tall but has a lot to offer for something so small in size.  This is a Lamplighter Farm 9 1/2" tall with a base of 4 1/2" oil lamp base. This outstanding, antique kerosene lamp was made by Hobbs, Brockunier & Company around 1870. This is referred to as a composite lamp, comprised of marble, brass and glass. The blown glass bowl of this lamp is crystal clear and is embossed on the inside with the "Veronica" pattern. The lamp stands on a 3 7/8" wide marble base (mildly worn edges), has a brass connector and is 10 1/2" tall. The 7 5/8" chimney is not original to the lamp. A true, antique beauty and a great addition to any early American glass collection.

The lamp is in excellent condition. As mentioned earlier there is some mild wear on the edges of the marble base.

This attractive lamp was produced by Findlay in the late 1880's - 1890's. Featuring a frosted font with embossed Plume design, the foot and stem are clear. There are faint traces of red within the plume design. The lamp base to the bottom of the burner measures 8 1/4" high. The chimney measures 10" high. The lamp is in excellent condition, with a few flakes on the very bottom of the foot.  This attractive, antique footed kerosene lamp is attributed to U.S. Glass circa 1900. The pattern is called Turkey Foot and is sometimes known as Plume,. The lamp comes with a nice antique beaded top chimney shade. The lamp measures 16" high to the top of the shade. The lamp base measures 8 1/4" high and 4 1/2" wide. The chimney shade measures 7 1/2" high. A charming antique beauty, this would be a great addition to any early American lamp collection.

The lamp is in excellent condition, very clear with no chips, cracks or discolorations.

It is questionable whether it is the original globe. It is still a stunning miniature with an elegant look. Measures 13.5 inches to the top of the chimney. The turnpull reads: Dorset Div., Thomaston, Conn., Made in USA. (Conn vs. CT). You need a good magnifier to see the incised mark it is very tiny. It also has raised lettering on the metal area: EAGLE. This lamp still has a wick, and stands 12 inches tall x 6 inches wide. These look great just about anywhere in the home, and especially nice at the holidays with ivy or holly around the base. And, best of all, when you lose power, you can still light up a room!  This small brass lamp burned whale oil or camphene, circa 1840. There is a wick in the single spout as well as the original wick cap. Because the burning camphene (a refined turpentine) fluid was so combustible the lamps had small caps that were used to douse the flame instead of blowing them out. The spout is 1.25 inches high to keep the flame away from the combustible liquid. The cap screws off to open the font for filling. It is in excellent condition and measures 3.5 inches to top of cap and 2.25 inches in diameter at the base.
