This is a late 1800’s, Edward Todd & Co., traveling, sliding nib, dip pen complete with a period gold nib that reads...Edward Todd & Co., New York, 2. The retractable pen tip slides in and out so it stows neatly for travel when not in use. It has a black and brown, grained, wood handle with embossed brass shaft that reads "Edward Todd & Co., 2" Fully extended it measures 6" long. The pen is in very good condition with slight wear and the nib being slightly bent and a small dent on the retractable nib holder.  This is a vintage dip pen with a mother of pearl handle and a gold nib marked "Crown, No. 7" and a crown emblem. There is no maker’s mark on the pen itself. It measures 6" long to the end of the nib. The pen and nib are in very good condition with just some ink residue.  This vintage wood pencil box has it all – it swivels, it slides, it has many sections for carrying and storing everything one would need – the Cadillac of pencil boxes! SIZE: 9 ¼ inches in length, 1 15/16 inches width and a double deck height of 1-5/16th inches. Top slides closed to hold together firmly, and then slides open to reveal the second layer than swivels to the side to allow one access to the bottom trays. There are a total of eight separate storage areas: 4 pen or pencil areas at the top, with a smaller area for the nibs I would imagine, then the bottom has three more separations/ holding areas. In original, as found / used condition. Top sliding drawer has a carved border, with an indentation to use to push to open, and has a worn decal as decoration. Bottom has a user initial carved into the finish. A precious memory of carefree school days of a long ago era, when life was simpler and going to school was safe, and one COULD carry a box, and it would not need to be searched for a weapon or drugs.  This vintage wood pencil box has the charm of being hand made, so is special and unique for that reason. Measures 10 ½ inches length and a generous 3 ½ inches width, with a height of 1 ¼ inches. Lid moves to the side to reveal the three storage areas inside, one most likely for the pens and the others would hold the nibs. Some chips to the wood, as expected from age and use. Very unique/ larger size from the manufactured boxes that are more commonly found.

Size: 4 ¾ inches length, nearly 2 inches width and just under 1 inch in height; with two sliding wood panels which reveal the two area’s for storage. Comes as found with several pen nibs, which date to 1930’s. One has: "Esterbrook & Co. School Pen # 444" and the second has: "The Eclipse- Austin Novelties Co., -Austin, ILL." Third has: "Joseph Gillott’s – official pen – No. 1065".  Gorgeous antique sterling silver repousse inkwell. The perfect special gift! Outstanding inkwell; very tiny sterling mark on lid rim edge, you need a magnifer to see it. Very nice condition. Stands 2.25 tall x 2 wide. Age est: 1800's. Check out the movie, 'The Weight of Water'; there is an almost identical inkwell on a desk! The movie is about a double homicide in 1873. #1653, t's-est-1/07  Very attractive antique Royal Zinn inkwell. This lovely copper finish over pewter or tin inkwell has a glass insert. It actually is much better looking than the pictures show it. Raised logo on bottom and #1062 Royal Zinn. It is 11 long x 5 deep. Some wear off copper, and some small chippies off the rim of the glass insert, but since the copper lid closes over that, you really don't see the small chippies on the glass insert anyway. Looks very Arts & Crafts era, (age est: late 1800's-1920's). This is a very nice desk accessory! djau1206#1606-CC  19th cent inkwell, signed
