Hammond's Neo-Craft Terrestrial 12 inch Globe. We were told this one was dated back to the early 1900's by the owner at the Estate sale we purchased it from. It's in VERY GOOD condition, close to excellent except for a small peel of surface paper as pictued below. Base is of a hard black plastic with a solid metal Sphere thats looks like aluminum. The Globe is a mellon green color for all the oceans, lighter yellows and dull oranges for land. Map shows Ship routes, elevations, ocean currents and more. Also has a Equation of Time type table. lovely old Calendar girl's , with a stand on the back...never used. There is a signature under her shoe, that I can't read...it looks something like C. Chiri Pat ?????. Each picture is different, and they are 4 3/4 inches wide, and 4 5/8 inches long. February is missing!! sorry!! G Condition overall, light staple pull, not bad, corners & spine bumped.. Nice reading copy.

This miniature cup (2 ¼” tall by 3 ¼” wide) and saucer are part of the Views of America Series by ENCO nyc. Both cup and saucer have a lovely monochromatic sepia (brown) picture of Bagnell Dam at Lake Ozark, Missouri. This impressive dam was completely in 1931. The cup and saucer are each trimmed in 22 K gold. This commemorative set from the 30’s or 40’s would be a wonderful addition to any collection of Americana.

Here’s a neat 48-star American flag from the World War II era. It measures 26 by 42 inches.

Made of a gauze-like material, these flags were distributed throughout the country at the time the U.S. entered the War.

Ours has been kept rolled in a dry place so there is little fading. Since it is not hemmed on the right end, there is some unraveling of the fabric, as well as a small tear about 2 inches into the fabric.

It could be easily hemmed to prevent future damage ... and could use a good cleaning! Still -- it's a nice one – even today!

1975 BACCHUS Mardi Gras Doubloon Coin CIRCUS PARADE

EXACT ITEM SHOWN

This Krewe is considered to be one of the "Super Krewes" of the Carnival due to its invitation to celebrities...a practice started by the Krewe of Zulu in 1949 (which itself no longer follows the custom). Founded in 1968 by a handful of New Orleans business leaders, the Krewe of Bacchus debuted in 1969, its aim to bring national attention to Mardi Gras with gigantic floats and a Hollywood celebrity. Its King is always a well-known personality...Danny Kaye being the first King and Bob Hope being another. Bacchus is comprised of prominent business men and women from around the State of Louisiana. Bacchus replaced the customary Carnival Ball with a supper to which tickets could be purchased by visitors and locals. A progressive, daring and bold Krewe, Bacchus has often been known to break with tradition during the Carnival in order to create excitement among the crowd.

Founded in 1967 and named for the Olympian God of Fertility and Eternal Youth, this Krewe is the largest in Mardi Gras history, rising to "Super Krewe" status in 1974. Billing itself as "the largest non-military parade in the world," it annually selects celebrity Grand Marshals who also preside over the Endymion Extravaganza held in the Louisiana SuperDome immediately following the Parade. The motto of this Krew is: "Token of Youth" and its members also boast the phrase: "Throw 'Til It Hurts!"

1986 Krewe of Mid City Doubloon Coin RED KING DiFatta

EXACT ITEM SHOWN

In HEAVYWEIGHT clear PROTECTOR!

The Carnival's fifth oldest parading organization founded in 1933, the Krewe of Mid-City is named for the neighborhood where its procession began in 1947. This Krewe was the first to introduce animated floats to the Mardi Gras celebrations (achieved by using Boy Scouts beneath the floats who pedalled stationary bicycles hooked to cables and gears). Due to its use of youthful themes (including Toyland, Fairies, Magic, Candy and Animals), this imaginative group of parading noblemen is a favorite among the children. The floats are colored in tin foil, which gives them a unique appearance and among the throws are the Krewe's signature interlocking hearts and pearlized drinking cups. The Honorary King and Queen (one boy and one girl selected each year from the Ronald McDonald House) throw their own special doubloons. The Motto of Mid-City is: "Pour La Joie De Vivre" ("For The Joy Of Life").

This unusual vintage pinback button advertises the Jolly Jasper Club, with a smiling sprite, hands on hips, in the center. The pin measures about .75-inch diameter. We don’t see any markings on this one, but it does have some surface rust on reverse. (t2219)

Here’s a nice fold-tab button for the Iowa Highway Patrol. Again, we don’t know the age of this one, but it measures about 1-inch diameter and is 1.5-inch tall, including the tab. There is no information on manufacturer or other markings. (t2220)

Another of the little Red Cross pinback buttons from early in the 1900s, this measures about .5-inch diameter and has no manufacturer information printed on it. It shows some very slight discoloration on the front and light surface rust on the reverse. (t2229)

This little Red Cross pinback button measures about .5-inch diameter and shows the Red Cross symbol and the year 1936 printed on the front. There’s no manufacturer information here and no serious damage. (t2231)

Jolly Jasper Club $6.50

Iowa Highway Patrol $5.00

Red Cross Pin $5.00

1936 Red Cross $5.00

Here’s a tiny Red Cross button with the fold-over tab. It measures about 3/8-inch diameter and the top to bottom measurement (including the tab) is about 7/8-inch. The only markings on this one are the two union bugs on the tab. (t2218-2)

This Junior Red Cross fold-tab button is from the Red Cross during the 1950s, as we remember. It measures about 5/8-inch diameter and is 1.25-inch tall, including the tab. There is a union bug on the tab. (t2221)

We’re not certain just what the blue figure at left side of this figural Red Cross symbol pin is – it appears that it’s designed to look like a flagpole/lanyard. If you have a better idea, let us know!

The fold-tab button measures about .75-inch wide and just over 1-inch tall, including the tab. There are union bugs on the tab. It appears to be an older one … perhaps from early in the 1900s. (t2222)

Here's a badge from a July, 1922 meeting at Mason City, Iowa of the Grand Lodge Domain of Iowa, with the logo of the Knights of Pythias F.C.B. in the center. A ½-inch wide white ribbon with the word Sisters imprinted is attached on the back.

Text on the back of the pin reads 'Manufactured by St. Louis Button Co., St.Louis, MO., Pat. Aug, 8, '99' with a union logo imprint.

The pin measures about 1.25-inch diameter and is in Very Good condition with very slight rusting on the back edge and a few minor scratches on the face. It's a good one! (t2216)

Scenes of Piccadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace are featured on this pair of vintage souvenir Salt and Pepper Shakers. The decals are nice and bright, and very detailed. Judging from the wear to the gold trim just where they would be handled, these are fairly old. They also have brass tops...both of which have split so should be replaced if you want to use them. Otherwise, for a collection, they are just fine. Shakers are just shy of 3" tall. 1970 Krewe of Venus Doubloon Coin SOVEREIGN QUEENS

Venus: In 1941, the Krewe of Venus became the first parade to feature all-female riders. To express their displeasure at such an event, the watching crowds hurled refuse at the maskers aboard the float.

Comic souvenir ashtray from Florida features 3 children sitting at the beach with the caption THE 3 BARES. It is hand painted and marked JAPAN. Looks 1950's but can't be 100% sure. Would make a cute shabby chic piece for a bathroom. Measures 7 1/2" diameter. Good condition..no cracks or chips

This is a membership receipt from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Rebekah Lodge No. 40 in Marshalltown, Iowa, dated 1926. With the official seal of the organization embossed at bottom left and various symbols of the organization printed on the top corners, it's quite an impressive 'Official Certificate.'

Dues were $1.00 annually back then, and the back of the certificate notes that this is the only legal receipt issued and it was to be used when a member visited other lodges.

Condition of this 75-year-old certificate is Very Good, with only a slight center fold. A great one for framing!
