The first motion picture(s) were introduced at the turn of the 20th century. Shortly thereafter, circa 1910-1915, black and white advertisements (later in color) or lobby cards as they would become known were posted on theatre walls to promote these movies.

As technological advances in advertising, construction of multiplex theatres, etc., in the United States evolved over the years, the lobby card became a relic and eventually a collectible item. However, lobby cards are still being produced for the international market and an interesting addition for one’s cinema collection.

S&H is an additional $5.00 within the continental U.S. International shipping is also available.  Vintage RKO Feature Service "Hollywood's Personality of the Week" photo kit of Rosalind Russell.

It features a beautiful real photo of Rosalind along with a three-page feature, all in a paper folder. It was from when she was in the Independent Artists film The Velvet Touch (1948). Independent Artists was the production company formed by Rosalind and her husband; The Velvet Touch was their first film, and it was released by RKO Radio Pictures.

From what I can find, I believe original RKO Feature Service folders are hard to come by. I never have come across another one, and the only thing like it I could find online is at a well-known vintage movie memorabilia site; it is for a John Wayne movie and is from 1949. The purveyor of that site states: The lot also includes the RKO Feature Service folder (which I have Never seen for sale in 30 years of collecting), that contained the still, and two descriptive sheets pertaining to the still and other publicity material distributed for the film. The still in that kit is a silver gelatin photograph, but I don't know whether the photo I am selling is - view the photos below and judge for yourself.

SIZE:

Approx. 10" x 13".

Stored flat and in protective sleeves for decades.

CONDITION:

Photo was glued on to the back of this folder - only about 2" in. Most of photo is very good-the edges have chipping, a tear about ½" in from edge and a dog-ear on right corner. There is glare from my studio lights in the top left and along the right edge.

Guaranteed vintage and original.  This is an original VINTAGE 1964 poster for the movie Wild and Wonderful.

Stamped 1 SH. 64/72 on the back.

This and the other posters I am selling are ORIGINAL one-sheet posters and are stamped so on the reverse. There are **NO repros/new prints**.

The most UPROARIOUS rivalry in the history of Romance! Cognac, a pampered poodle and popular star on French television, creates marital problems for his pretty owner Giselle when he becomes jealous of her new husband. The LAUGHS are WILD... the LOVING is WONDERFUL!

Stars: Tony Curtis, Christine Kaufmann and Larry Storch

Director: Michael Anderson

Writers: Dorothy Crider (story), Richard Powell (screen story).

GREAT ESTATE FIND:::This poster and others were found in a large box - protected from the elements. They had been in there for a long time - none look like they were framed. Different genres and great graphics.

SIZE:

27" x 41"

CONDITION:

Excellent with hilarious graphics and with one our most beloved comedic actors, Tony Curtis!

I am going to be as specific as I can with any damage. This is really clean - I don't see any tears, just a little crinkling along some folds which will lay down once mounted. Some edge wear with a couple of tiny tears. It was folded just a bit cockeyed so the fold lines are off a little.

Guaranteed vintage and original.

This is an original VINTAGE 1960 poster from the movie SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE.

Stamped 1 SH. 60/239 on the back.

This and the other posters I am selling are ORIGINAL one-sheet posters and are stamped so on the reverse. There are **NO repros/new prints**.

Starring: Mamie Van Doren, Tuesday Weld and Mijanou Bardot.

Director: Albert Zugsmith

Writers: Robert Hill (screenplay), Albert Zugsmith (story)

Sex Kittens Go To College is a great psychotropic film that really should be out on DVD hopefully with a Joe Bob Briggs commentary. The cast is nothing short of amazing! Mamie Van Doren is a "genius" with 13 degrees and a body that drives men wild and women to fume with jealousy. Tuesday Weld is a bit young for college at 17 but looks fantastic. Mijanou Bardot is more like the right age at 21 and her frerrranch accent like the great one done by John Cleese in Holy Grail can't help but make you laugh. There's John Carradine doing the Charleston with Mamie. The great horror movie host Vampira is Louis Nye's lab assistant taking care of Thinko the robot - a computer (!) that is a big metal robot with a lot of phony machines all around him. Hopefully if they put this on DVD they'll get the European cut which includes four strippers who do their "acts" for Thinko and Voltaire the chimp who's dressed like a beatnik most of the time. The strippers get down to some pretty skimpy panties (one is a thong so young people who think those were invented in the nineties are wrong) and pasties on their nipples. This was really hot stuff in 1960.

Excellent with bright graphics. Super clean!

I'll be as specific as I can with any damage. A superb example of campy goodness in rare condition. I see no holes anywhere. There is one chip down by the copyright at bottom. It has been folded a bit askew, but that really doesn't affect it. Guaranteed vintage and original.

This is an original VINTAGE 1959 poster for the movie WARLOCK.

Stamped 1 SH. 59/123 on the back.

This and the other movie posters I am selling are ORIGINAL one-sheet posters and are stamped so on the reverse. There are **NO repros/new prints**.

Starring: Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn.

Director: Edward Dmytryk

Writers: Robert Alan Aurthur (screenplay), Oakley Hall (novel)

What looks at first like it will be an enjoyable but mindless genre Western turns gradually into something rather darker and more nuanced. Almost nobody in this film is who they seem at first, and several characters undergo gradual inversions, with results ranging from noble to deeply creepy. Who are the heroes? Who are the villains? You'll leave this movie much less certain than you were when you arrived.

Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn are nearly upstaged by -- of all people -- DeForest Kelley, seen here just a few years before his career would be wrenched sideways by the role of Leonard McCoy in the original Star Trek.

Grace Patricia Kelly (1929 –1982) was an American actress and Princess consort of Monaco. In April 1956 Kelly married Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and became styled as Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, and was commonly referred to as Princess Grace.

After embarking on an acting career in 1950, at the age of 20, Grace Kelly appeared in New York City theatrical productions as well as in more than forty episodes of live drama productions broadcast during the early 1950s Golden Age of Television. In October 1953, with the release of Mogambo, she became a movie star, a status confirmed in 1954 with a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nomination as well as leading roles in five films, including The Country Girl, in which she gave a deglamorized, Academy Award-winning performance. She retired from acting at 26 to enter upon her duties in Monaco. She and Prince Rainier had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie.
