Small vintage cast metal ( I believe it to be cast iron) thermometer from the PA Dutch area. Depicts woman sitting in rocking chair sewing. Caption reads "The Hurrier I Go the Behinder I Get". Back reads "Made in U.S.A. and has a small bar on bottom to keep it standing. The thermometer appears to be working. There is a small spot where the paint has worn off over the years. (See pictures).   Old Metal Clothes Wall Hanger--Hanger has 4 grooves to hold clothes hangers--2 holds at top of hanger for skews--Measures 8 inches long

Wild Cats / Wild C.A.T.S Lapel Pin Set--Set of 5 Wild Cat cloisonne pins--2 are of Zealot, 1 of Grifter and 2 of unknown name--All are in very good condition--Jim Lee / Aegis Entertainment--Marked 1994 Aegis Ent. Inc--Set of 5 is $30

This Copper kettle with welded-on brass hinges, has a rich mahogany colored wood handle and round knob on the lid. It dates back to the 1950’s and has had many a polishing, remnants of which show as white areas in the niches near the hinge. There is a gray metal lining, the composition of which I don’t know.

This was part of Mom’s set of perhaps 40 Revere copper bottom pots! I polished only the underside to show the markings: a Revere head with 18 on one side and 01 on the other, along with Revere Ware under the head. In a circle around this area are: Revere Copper and Brass Inc., Rome N.Y. The polished area shows some light scratches, but I believe these scratches are mainly to be found underneath where some sliding took place. The rest of the pot seems in good shape with no dents, deformities or repairs.

On the base label I polished what looked like a mess of different colors, including some dark spots, mainly to show the label, but also to see if the copper could be polished evenly, and it did polish out. I did not attempt to polish the rest of the pot. The main set of Revere pots were used daily and put through a tough life, but the tea kettle was used perhaps once or twice, mostly sitting on the side in display, gotten mainly to fill out the collection. Measures 7 ¼ inches across the base and 7 ½ inches to the top of the handle. The handle can be kept in one of 3 positions, one for each notch in the hinge. The photo shows it in the top notch. The lid fits nicely with a firm snap. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #566

Measuring 7 inches across his legs and 4 1/4 inches front to back, this brass crab metalwork would be an ocean lover’s delight. His shell lifts to reveal a 1 1/2 x 2 inch space, just enough room to hold your mini treasures.

The solid brass crab has normal wear and scuffing but is without any dings or dents and is in over-all fine condition. You won’t be disappointed if you add this well-crafted metal sea creature to your ocean themed display.  A very nice art deco piece from the 1930s - 40's, made by Hamilton Products. It was originally an ashtray but could easily be used as a change tray. It does show some wear from use over the years, but is still a fabulous piece. It is made of chrome and features two elephants in the center, with space in between for holding matches. The elephants' trunks are up to hold lit cigarettes.

It measures approx. 4.5" in diameter and stands 2" high. The bottom is marked, "A Hamilton Product - NYC. Made in USA," and has several patent numbers on the bottom. This piece would also be great as a political piece.

This is a cast iron and brass printing press counter mounted on a wooden block.

The front is impressed with:

CAMPBELL PTG PRESS & MFG. CO.

NEW YORK & CHICAGO USA

J.T. HAWKINS PATENT

Hawkins held several printing press patents in the 1880's.

The counter itself measures:

4" tall not including lever; the lever is 5 3/4" long.

2 1/2" deep

4 3/4" wide, again not including lever mechanism

 The wood base is 2 1/2"x 5 3/4".

The piece weighs almost 5 pounds.

A very unique piece!

CONDITION: The lever and the brass counter all work smoothly, solidly and quietly. The wood base is original and in excellent condition.

Please study the photos carefully and feel free to email with any questions.

This early 1900s antique hand painted metal toleware tray is large enough to serve as a tabletop at 24-1/4" by 19-1/2 inches with a nearly 1 inch depth. The center features a big bouquet of flowers - two faded red roses, daisies, blue forget-me-not type blossoms, and green leaves. The rim is gilded in gold paint and the lower border is decorated with a double swag of leafy gold vines all the way around. All of the painting, including the gold trim, is completely done by hand - you can see and feel the brush strokes.

The tray has no dents or dings but there are scratches to the finish consistent with age and use, and scuffing on the back. The painted design is original and therefore somewhat faded or muted. I took a couple of the photos with a flash to better show the detail. The lovely design and magnificent size make the tray a worthy display piece for any home.

1890s Daniel Low & Co Sterling Silver Witch Spoon. Iris open work bowl, 4 3/4" long, marked with the tiny Low mark, sterling and 925/1000. Golden hue to the bowl, no damage.  This marvelous Sarna, India brass bell stands 4 inches tall to the top of the circular handle and has an opening of 4 1/4 inches across the bottom. An etched design resembling delicate leaves decorates the surface of the bell, which has a clear resonant ring tone.

Although we have only the single bell for purchase, we believe this is most likely the largest bell in the 30T series. Sarna bells are known for their superb craftsmanship and this vintage bell definitely lives up to that tradition. The longest (intact) piece measures 12" long X 5 1/2" high. The shortest (intact) piece measures 9" long x 5 1/2" high. The gate is 3" x 5 3/4" high.

All pieces have surface dirt and light surface rust.

This lot is being sold "as is" and as "parts", not as a ready to use set.

Please study the photos carefully and we will gladly answer any questions.  Described as a Breast/Chest Drill rather than a hand drill, this 16 inch long Millers Falls drill was used for boring holes in iron, steel and tough hardwood. Constructed on a rod type frame, the drill has an adjustable breast plate which the user leaned into exerting considerable force. The drill’s spring type chuck can be adjusted from 0 to 1/2 inch setting.

The vintage drill is marked with the Millers Falls name, along with the model #120BG. The exact age of the drill is not known, but most likely was produced during the 40’s/50’s time frame. There is some age related wear on this piece but it is in very good condition with all components working well.

This is a heavy item weighing nearly 5 pounds before packaging.  The #55l marked tongs also has the Gifford – Wood name, Hudson N.Y. and was manufactured during the 1909 – 1930’s time frame. The Stirrup style handle first appeared in the 1909 catalogue and was offered in three sizes with the 15 inch being the longest leg length at that time. Although there is no year date noted, ice machinery/equipment was the mainstay of the Gifford Wood Company until the mid 1930’s when the manufacture of coal equipment began to flourish.

These vintage tongs with the 13 inch spread were strong enough to carry a block of ice weighing an average of 50 lbs for home refrigeration. Constructed of forged steel, the tongs are in very good blackened condition, with the note that there is wear to the rivet holding the two tongs together. This is a marvelous item for the early tool collector or even as a display piece for a historic themed restaurant décor.  12 matching trays, smaller tray size - or tip trays - Size: 6-1/2 inches length, 4-5/8 inches width.  This unique Athena medallion is special and somewhat of a mystery. The Greek Goddess of War, Wise Counsel, and the Patron of Athens is depicted on this marvelous 3 inch diameter medal wearing a crested helmet with a horse figure. Surrounding the entire edge is a Greek Key design.

The backside of the medallion is done in raised print and states: K. Mix Patent # 31811. Our research has concluded that this is not a U.S.A. patent number, because that number has a year date of 1861 and refers to a machine for opening up channels through sand bars. This bronze medal may have been manufactured in Greece, but we are not sure.

The Collector Guild’s Medal site lists two examples of the helmeted Goddess Athena that can be found in the United States. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point features the Patron of Athens on its crest. And going back in time, by order of then President Franklin Roosevelt, a Women’s Army Corps Service Medal was created with a similar (but not identical) Athena image, and was awarded only between the years 1942 – 1945, and thereafter considered obsolete.

The Athena medallion is a wonderful collectible piece of memorabilia, and the gold tone metal display stand will accompany the medallion. If anyone has additional information to share as to when this Athena medal was created, what the K. Mix on the backside actually means, and in what country the patent originated, we would certainly be appreciative in knowing more of the bronze medallion’s history.  This vintage sterling silver footed bowl with gold wash center and two handles was made by the Woodside Sterling Company of New York, Rhode Island and is marked: W in a Laurel Wreath / Sterling / #271.

With a beautiful etched floral design on the handles it is repeated on the rim of the bowl.

In very good condition without cracks or breaks, their are scratches in the bowl from use and the base does have two dents which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 2 1/4 inches tall, 10 1/4 inches handle to handle, 7 5/8 inches across the rim and 3 5/8 inches across the base.

An addition to any Woodside Sterling Comany Sterling Silver Bowl Collection.

This beautiful Sterling Silver 3 piece Tea Set is marked: Sterling / 925 / Bird #1 / R.J. / Wecho En Mexico / DF.

In Billie Hougart's book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade script initials, RJ, is attributed to TANE Orfebres which is a prominent silver house in Mexico City that sold the work of many famous silversmiths under the trade name, TANE. It was established in 1953 which is about the date I would attribute this phenomenal piece to.

The high quality of the design, materials, and workmanship are typical of pieces made by Tane Orfebres, who is often referred to as Mexico’s Tiffany.

The three piece set consists of:

1-teapot with lid that measures 7 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches handle to spout with a 3 inch base and weighs 24.5 ounces,

1-sugar bowl with lid that measures 3 1/2 inches tall, 5 1/4 inches handle to handle, 3 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches across the base and weighs 7.2 ounces and

1-creamer that measures 3 3/4 inches tall, 4 1/8 inches spout to handle, 3 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches across the base and weighs 6.6 ounces.

An addition to any Tane Mexican Sterling Tea Set Collection.
