This is a pre ban antique victorian hand carved elephant ivory napkin ring made in England 1890-1900. The napkin ring or serviette ring measures .65 inches high by 1.75 iinches in diameter and has engraved leaves and a scalloped, perforated or reticulated flared rim and a number 2 in the monogram cartouche denoting it was once part of a larger set. The napkin ring is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. A wonderful find.  Offered is a black velvet box containing 4 place card holders in sterling plate. The box has Bloomingdales stamped in gold on the inside cover. The place card holders themselves are wrapped in tissue paper, and shaped like a square gift box with a gold colored ribbon.

I am including a 2nd box which contains only 3 holders. I doubt these were used since the paper for writing the names is still clean and in a slot behind the holders! Some are fairly bright; most need a little touch-up polishing. They still have paper labels under the boxes and stamped info on the bottom identifying maker, Godinger, and quality. I’ve seen these listed for $32 retail for ONE box. You will get 2 boxes with 7 place card holders. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 3 1/2 lbs. from 06068. #528

This is a wonderful pair of antique hand made English sterling silver pince nez which means pinch nose, literally, eyeglasses or a lorgnette without the handle. The glasses were made 1890-1910. The glasses are adjustable by the nose spring and measure 2 inches high by 4 inches wide and are very well made and the original cork nose pieces are in excellent condition. There is a ring for attaching a silk cord to hang the glasses ready around the neck and the original 42 inch silk cord is attached. The frames are not marked or the markings have worn off, but they test for sterling silver They are a wonderful piece of history. Marvelous!  The original napkin ring was made by Meriden Britannia Co., circa 1884. Meriden Britannia Co. founded in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut grew through acquisition of other silver firms, notably Rogers Bros. They were one of the original companies that joined together to form International Silver Co. in 1898. The figure is electro-plated Britannia metal, which is a tin alloy with 5-10% antimony. It does need to be ploished. The figure stands 4" tall and measures 3" to the back of the napkin ring. It weighs 10 oz.  This is an antique toast rack made by Elkington, England in the 1890s for the Royal Mail Steamship Company. The toast rack is in very good +++ condition with no plate loss. A great collectible on many levels. Toast racks also make wonderful letter racks in the office or napkin holders in the dining room. This antique silver-plated claret jug appears by style to be approximately 1875-1890. It is decorated quite ornately: applied flower with leaves on the handle, a small bunch of grapes & leaves on the lid, engraved swirled florals all over, and a small old Gothic initial B on the front; reeding along base edge. Not marked. Height is 7 ½ inches. Lip of jug is slightly askew with a dent on one side and many scratches inside the lip. The hinges for the lid are intact, but a bit loosey-goosey from side to side. Plating looks even, with no obvious signs of wear.
