Williams set multiple national and regional swimming records in her late teens as part of the Los Angeles Athletic Club swim team. Unable to compete in the 1940 Summer Olympics because of the outbreak of World War II, Williams joined Billy Rose's Aquacade, where she took on the role vacated by Eleanor Holm after the show's move from New York City to San Francisco. There, she spent five months swimming alongside Olympic swimmer and Tarzan star, Johnny Weissmuller.[4]

During World War II, Hayward enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and commanded a photographic unit that filmed the Battle of Tarawa in a documentary titled With the Marines at Tarawa (winner of the 1944 Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject). Hayward was awarded the Bronze Star Medal[1]


He also played the role of Philip Lombard in the 1945 version of And Then There Were None. Hayward starred in the 1954 syndicated television series The Lone Wolf. Hayward's other television work includes a role as a judge in an episode, "Day of Reckoning" (original air date 22 November 1962), of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour.[citation needed]

 We have here and unusual set of papers from the Mayo Clinic. These are a diary of your visit along with a pamphlet called "We went to Rochester and waited…". These are set to rhyme which I find interesting. The diary is filled in for a Helen Marks along with her doctor, visitors and more. It is an interesting set to say the least.  This unopened deck of playing cards is marked Goodyear on the sides with the signature Goodyear logo.  The deck is still sealed with the blue US Playing Card Company logo stamp.  The bottom is marked: Distributed by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio 44316.  The back ensures the air cushion finish cards are fine quality for easy dealing and long life, extra slip, extra snap.  Made in USA, Printed in USA.  This deck has minor scuffing and marks but is intact - Fine condition.

Europe, app. 1900: Small Lot of 7 very decorative, embossed, lithographed die cuts. The largest depicts a sacred man (King?) with crown, armor and palm leaf. The smaller depict birds, a snake and insects.


They are not mounted. The card they are kept on is 5,8 x 4 inches.


All are in very fine condition.  April 1953 issue of Science and Mechanics Magazine. Features include: Plans for Dolly Varden Canoe, Plans for wrought Iron Furniture, Plans for Indian Hobby Horse, Plans to build Desk, Plans to build All Purpose Rack, Plans to build Beaching Boat Dolly, testing 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook, Packard Clipper, Rover 75, and so much more. Magazine in good shape as seen in photo, will all pages intact and complete.  4 early Trade Cards issued by Dwight Soda of Dogs.  There is suppose to be 30 different Cards to this series.  The one’s I have are of a Basset Hound, Yorkshire Terrier, Griffon Bruxellois and White English Terrier.  As shown in the photo, condition isn’t the best as they have heavy creasing.  Great for anyone collecting early Dog items.  Buyer to pay $2 for shipping.

The building at 267 6th Ave., on the corner of Grafield Place, was the home of the Swedish American Athletic Club.  

Both decks which are in used condition, one blue with silver and gold trim and one red with silver and gold trim are marked Hans Lagerloef / Honary President / Melcher Stamberg / President and come in their original box that shows wear from age.

Swedish American Athletic Club Playing C $15.00

These playing cards advertising the Pomonok Country Club were made by the Atlantic Playing Card Company of New York.  

Pomonok Country Club was a country club in the Pomonok neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens. The golf course was located between Kissena Boulevard and 164th Street, just to the south of Horace Harding Boulevard (now the Long Island Expressway) and to the east of Queens College.

The club was established in 1886 by members of the Flushing Athletic Club in Flushing and moved to the Kissena Boulevard location in 1921. Devereux Emmet designed the golf course. The members disbanded and sold the course in 1949. 

Both decks, one orange with a silver border and one yellow with a silver border, have the PCC logo with Pomonok Country Club printed underneath and come unopened in their original cellophane packaging with 10 cent Us Int. Rev stamp on them the box shows wear from age.

William Claude Dukenfield (January 29, 1880 – December 25, 1946), better known as W. C. Fields, was an American comedian, actor, juggler and writer Fields created a comic persona: a misanthropic and hard-drinking egotist who remained a sympathetic character despite his snarling contempt for dogs, children, and women.

The deck of cards is new and still sealed in it's original packaging that measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches while the tray, which does have scratches from age measures 4 3/4 inches by 3 3/4 inches.

 A large fluffy white persian cat has apparently finished eating, as an emply plate is shown in lower left. Cat is cleaning himself after his meal. 


The cats face is a happy face, deep ocean blue  eyes, and a very pink nose and tongue. Kitty has a pink bow around her neck. You can see a kitchen tile of whites and blue. Also a woven oval rug in the background.


ARTIST SIGNATURE in upper right hand corner: ALBERT STAEHLE. Measures 9-1/4 inches wide by 8-1/2 inches high. There is a crease coming up from the bottom at the middle up between the cats feet. A very minute horizontal crease at the tile level.


VERY SUITABLE FOR FRAMING!! This lovely colorful vintage illustration was either a cover for a magazine or a page from a magazine.

5 3/4" x 4", never used.    Vintage 36-page booklet of the famed Singing Tower in Lake Wales, Florida.  Edward Bok visualized not only a refuge for birds for also for people.  This lovely souvenir booklet offers a history of the gardens, and details of the 205-foot high tower housing the carillon that uses 53 tuned bronze bells to entertain visitors with daily concerts.  Bok Tower Gardens ©1981 The American Foundation, Inc.  Filled with colorful photographs, this Bok Tower Gardens booklet measures about 8.5 inches by 11 inches.  No tears or stains.  This souvenir booklet is in Excellent condition.

 This is an excellent condition 3 page article about antique silver napkin rings. There are numerous photos and figurals are the most collectible with value ranges from $200 to $2,500.00. The earliest napkin  rings from 1850 to 1865 are less ornate but can be costlier because fewer were made. Satisfaction guaranteed. There are 32 pages of songs along with small spaces of advertising.  The binding of this paper booklet is starting to give way, but is still intact.  It appears that it was never used. This is an actual article clipped from the Lifestyle section of a newspaper.
