The Torchbearer, A Paper for Girls Ten to Seventeen Years of Age Newspaper. This newspaper is Volume VIII, Nashville Tenn., May 12, 1929 Number 10. It includes articles (Joan of Arc), stories, poems, book reviews, letters, photos and illustrations. It has some minor tearing along the edges and otherwise it is in good used condition.

 une 1896 issue of the Gem City College Journal, devoted to business education published by the Gem City Business College of Quincy, Illinois. This issue contains a total of 8 pages, which each page measuring approximately 9.50" wide by 12.75" tall. The pages are uncut. The front page shows an illustration of the new college building. The street scene in front of the building show pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages and a trolley car (on the side of the trolley reads "Depot & Hamp"). Some of the contents include:

There are numerous illustrated drawings as well as 3 b/w photographs. One of those photos is shown at left: states, territories and countries represented in the Gem City Business College, March 1, 1896.


This newspaper/magazine is in good condition considering its age. Pages have edge nicks and some staining/soiling. Paper has a horizontal fold crease at center where folded.  Vintage Pittsburgh, PA Newspaper. The Paper is the Post Gazette Daily Magazine, Dated: Saturday Morning Feb. 21, 1953. Has some great news items from Pittsburgh,Pa. Area. Newspaper, June 30, 1911. It is The Sunday Herald Pictorial Section and is 4 large pages at 22 3/4 inches high and 18 1/2 inches wide. It has many wonderful activity pictures including Striking views of the Coronation of King George and Queen Mary, a page of Brady's Photographs of the Civil War from the U.S. Official Collection, a page of Summer wraps designed for Fashionable French Watering places and more articles. The front has more age coloring to the pages than the rest and it has been folded. It is such a rare find and wonderful to see. It is as found,  Great New York Post Special Metro Edition after 9/11 dated Thursday Sept. 13, 2001. It has 94 pages of newpaper and most are dedicated to the carnage, bravery and lots of pictures after 9/11. It is in great condition with a tear on the top.  Newspaper, The Newark Sunday News Part II,Man On The Moon dated July 20, 1969. It has 23, wonderful, age colored pages with so much information, great pictures and a time schedule. Great condition.  The New York Times Special Supplement dated Thursday, July 17, 1969 of Apollo II, Man And The Moon. It is in great condition with 48 pages of information and wonderful pictures. It does have some age color to the paper which is to be expected. A nice find.

 This is a May 1957 "Confidential" magazine, headlines include "This Ordinary Joe sure made time on that couch with Marilyn Monroe", " A Girl Confesses- My Night With Elvis Presley" and "Exclusive! Floyd Patterson's Shotgun Wedding to his first wife". This magazine is loaded with interesting articles and tons of advertising, in very good condition with minor wear.  Newspaper, New York Times Special Sunday Edition from 1969 with the First Men On The Moon with wonderful pictures of Apollo 10 and the crew on 16 wonderful pages. It is in great condition with some age coloring to the paper.  Wonderful newspaper, The Reagan Times dedicated to the 40th. President of the U.S>A> from ACRT Publishing Co., Inc. in 1981. It is in nice condition with the pages being a little age colored and the top and bottom with tiny tears. It is a great 40 page Special Edition paper with so many wonderful pictures.  This is an original newspaper dated Sept. 6, 1942. The Sunday Pictorial covers a successful campaign in Egypt, American bomber raids over Rouen, France, Bad News For Goering. Also ads for Clark's shoes, Persil soap,Ovaltine and others. Cooking hints, jokes, details of wartime weddings and recruitment appeals for the RAF, WAAF and information about tanks with photos from the war at Dieppe. A fascinating time capsule and bit of social history. The newspaper is in very good condition with no tears, a center crease and general normal yellowing. In an archival sleeve.

Pacific Stars and Stripes October 9, 1945 


 On August 6, 1945, the Atom Bomb fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On September 2, Japan formally surrendered. On October 3, the first published issue of the Pacific Edition Stars and Stripes was printed. It was published as a daily newspaper in Tokyo, Japan, for the American forces in Japan and Korea. 

This is the Stars and Stripes for October 9, 1945, one week from the first paper. 


 Headlines included ''Prime Minister Selects Cabinet Reportedly Okayed by MacArthur. Baron Shidehara to Present Members to Emperor Today.'' ''Hirohito Wanted Pearl Harbor Bombed After War Rescript'' (He believed that the United States would be duly notified prior to the commencement of armed action.) President Okays Bill To Spur Re-enlistments. Strikes Threat to Reconversion. 


Other articles on a personal appearance tour of Danny Kaye and Leo (Lippy) Durocher. Chiang Kai Shek forces attacking Communist held China. Japanese Army deactivisation to be completed in October. Weather is Villain in Mail Shortage. 24 Nazis get indictments on War Crimes. Hard Slugging Tigers Beat Favorites, 8 - 4. Yamashita makes not guilty plea. 'Beast of Belsen' admits gas killings. Victory Sure Without Bomb, Nimitz States. 


Cartoons include Oriental Potshots by Casey, Donald Duck by Walt Disney, and Blondie by Chic Young. Pictures of Japanese subs found at Inchon, Korea, and soldiers putting up a sign for a ''Texas Embassy''. Soldiers marching into Hirosaki. And a pinup picture of actress Nancy Coleman.

 Four page newspaper, 15-3/4 inches by 21-1/2 inches. 


 Paper has darkened, but has only a few small tears along top edge. It has been folded into a small packet, 4-3/4 inches by 51/2 inches. Very good condition.
