Full of character, this little jug (oil or vinegar I think) is slip glazed with red and black handpainted stripes. Very 1950s. Very typical of the era. Beautifully shaped. The Scviers mark is handpainted under the base. This was a mark from the Old Hampstead Pottery, which was the partnership ofMartha Rickatson and Maria Seviers, which was dissolved in April 1951. Maria Seviers then continued the pottery with a number of other potters as a limited company until November 1966 when it went into receivership. The mark dates the jug from between 1951 and 1966.

Jug measures 127 mm high and 80 mm diameter (5 inches by about 3.1/4 inches). There is one small area at the foot where the slip has come off in a shallow surface chip, exposing the cream pottery underneath. Really nice item.  This Nemadji Pottery vase measures 4 1/4 inches in height and is 3 1/2 inches across the rim and approximately 4 inches wide across the widest part of the body.

While never produced by Indians, the pottery was promoted as being reminiscent of ancient indian pottery; overtime, it became synonymous with Indian Pottery.

Made in Japan in 1961, the two ceramic wall plaques are a marvelous find for the Medieval enthusiast. The stepped plaques measure 5 1/4 inches square, with a different central raised design placed on a smaller inset block of 4 1/2 inches.

One has a shield with a crown above, flanked by swords. The second plaque has a crest and lion design along with a visor helmet above and a sword on each side.

The black, white and gold color tones are a visual stand out against the stepped design of the plaque and the 3-D appearance gives the plaque added punch. These two were meant to hang on the diagonal or in a diamond shape. There are two pre-drilled holes on the backside through which gold tone wire has been strung. Both are stamped in green Napco, Bedford, Ohio and are year dated 1961. In addition, there is a silver foil label with the National Pottery Company/NAPCO name, Made in Japan.
