A beautiful Somayaki Teapot and two Somayaki Cups! These items are no longer being made in Japan, due to the horrific devastation that country suffered not so long ago. These items are characterized by the "ao-hibi" or blue-green crackling that covers the surface. An apple ash and sumi-kannyu glaze is used to achieve this effect. This ware also has the "hashiri-uma" or galloping horse motif. The Somaware has a double-walled construction, thrown separately by the potter. This keeps the liquid inside hot and the outer surface cool. The teapot will hold three cups of liquid (to the very top of the pot). It measures five and one-half inches to the top of the finial, seven and one-half inches from the spout to the handle, and four and one-half inches in diameter at the top opening. The handle is made of bamboo. The handle is not perfectly rounded and I don't know if that is normal. Don't know much about bamboo. The cups are three and one-fourth inches high and three inches in diameter. This is a beautiful teapot. There are no chips or disfigurements of any kind. The inside is shiny and new, as though it hadn't ever been used. Used or displayed, I really don't know. I would say the cups, at least one, has been used somewhat, as the gold rim is pretty much gone from the top. These items are not easy to come by these days. You can find out more about them on the internet if you google under "Ohbori Somayaki pottery." Thank you for looking!  Millefleur Fine Famille Rose Gilt Porcelain Plate, Charger. It is 10.25" in diameter. It has beautifully painted chrysanthemums with a multitude of other floral. The gilt background complements the wonderful hand painted flowers. It marked on the back "Japanese Porcelain Ware, A.F.C. Decorated in Hong Kong". The condition is excellent.  Handsome and well painted pair of Chinese porcelain vases. Ku beaker form. Hand painted thousand flower motif. Archaic seal mark on bottom of Qian long. 9-3/4" height by 5" diameter. One with small chip at edge and the other with two hairline cracks.  Japanese Wheel Thrown Stoneware Dish or Shallow Bowl. I has a gentle pinched ruffled edge and a lovely wintergreen on cream glaze. It is signed, dated and there is a dedication on the bottom. However since it is in Japanese I can't read it. Some told me that this was made and given as a wedding gift. It is 11.75" across and stands 2.25 high.

Small Chinese porcelain vase. Early 20th century. Four character mark in red on bottom and marked China on side. White ground with flowers. 3-1/8" height. Excellent condition.  Dog Planter, CDP, Handcrafted, Vintage. This cute spaniel is sitting in a dish. He weighs 1 1/2 lbs and measures 5 3/4" high, 6 1/4" long and 5" wide. He is handcrafted from natural white clay and is highlighted with dark blue painted blueberries and ferns. This planter is in very good condition with a CDP label.  Large foo dog. We are offering a vintage miniature cup and saucer set. The pieces are delicately decorated with alternating blue panels with pink flowers, raised gold swags and blue panels with blue gold scrolls. The cup stands 1 1/2 inches on a scalloped pedestal base and measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup has a slightly ribbed rim and a gilded kicked loop handle. The matching saucer measures 3 inches in diameter. It is marked Handpainted Japan in red and also has a K in a circle. The miniature set is free from chips, cracks, nicks, and repairs. The net weight is 6 ounces.  We are offering a vintage bud vase. The piece is yellow with pink flowers, green leaves, and red fruits. It stands 5 1/2 inches tall on a pedestal base. It has 2 applied gilded loop handles. The vase is free of chips, cracks, nicks, or repairs. However there is some paint loss on the gold part of the handles. The net weight is 10 ounces.  Pair of ginger jars. Chinese famille rose porcelain. 19th century. 12" height by 10" diameter. One small 1/8" by 2/8" chip on the inside of lid. Wood lids and stands.  We are offering a vintage ceramic dog figurine. The breed is a cocker spaniel - the color golden. It has a green holly around its neck. The piece is marked Purebred Pets 1985 KATHY WISE Licensee ENESCO TAIWAN R.O.C.. It is free of chips, cracks, nicks, or repairs. The net weight is 13 ounces.

Heavy Gold decorated plate manufactured in the 1950s by either China or Hong Kong. The graphics are a traditional design featuring a Dragon and what appears to be a Phoenix or Pheasant Bird. The front is hanpainted and still has its original paper label. The back is unglazed and has the feel of stoneware. Perfect condition.  Japanese Kutani porcelain nodder figure. Chinese porcelain figure of a scholar. Circa 1910 to 1920. 6" height. Excellent condition.  Gorgeous Set, Wide open teacup, No cracks or chips.  Old Chinese Porcelain Ashtray with a slot for holding matches. It has a piece of leather glued on the bottom that I have removed. However the glue is remaining. It is marked with the maker signature but I cannot make it out. I can see that it was made in Hong Kong. The diameter is 3.5" and 1 1/2" tall. Some of the gold trim has worn off. Plus there is a old glue that is still stuck to the bottom from the pad that was on it.  Millefleur Noire Octagonal Porcelain Bowl Da Qing Guangxu. Millefleur Noire Octagonal Porcelain Bowl / Dish Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi - "Guangxu period (1875-1908) made". This one is is particularly desirable due to the heavily decorated on both sides. The inside is with flowers against the blue enamel matrix. Whereas the outside has a black matrix. It is a medium quality for export piece without any damage. There are a few pit marks here there which is natural occurance in the manufacturing process . As you can see the enameling does not cover completely to the edge of the base. There is color does not reach the the rim either. The appears to be some loss of pigment on the rim edge.
