Boys Town American Art Pottery Glossy Brick Red Sm Vase.

Lovely 4 1/2 inch tall Vase with a brick red gloss glaze with just a bit of variance in the color. Two horizontal raised rings circle just below the middle.

I'm not 100% certain - but believe this is Boys Town Pottery. The tag on bottom is worn away.

NO chips - cracks - crazing. There are a few very light minuscule scratches.

Very nice addition to a Pottery Collection.  American Art Pottery in Coppertone with blue green drip glaze spout and handle.

Has original tag : Souvenir of Boys Town Nebraska. Also signed B T on bottom.

Measures 4 1/2 inches tall.

Excellent condition.

Price is for one.  Vintage Boys Town pottery shoe. Heavy vintage aqua pottery shoe signed: 'Boys Town'; hard to find item. Good condition with no chips or cracks, but does have all-over crazing. Most of the crazing is faint, some more noticeable on the interior of the shoe. The head archivist for the Boys Town youth home provided some info on the pottery: this pottery was made from 1948 to 1993. This particular shoe is said to be shown on pg. 193 of the 1999 book by J. Rans titled: Coll's Ency. of Muncie Pottery, (the book does not provide a date for when it was made). However, because of the glaze, weight, etc., I do believe this shoe is from the 1940's, early 50's. Boys Town was formed in 1917 for orphaned and wayward boys in Omaha, Nebraska. Spencer Tracey won an academy award for his portrayal of Father Flannigan the Irish Catholic Priest who founded the home. A very collectible shoe for pottery collectors and movie buffs.
