Glazed white interior, rich brown glazed exterior and exposed yellow clay on bottom with impressed logo. The logo is worn and hard to read (we can just make out Crooksville, Burley-Winter). Measures 4 3/4'' tall. There is the expected crazing on the interior and a rough spot on the rim--it's rough, but is intact and not chipped. This is a very nice old Burley-Winter stoneware mug for any collector.  Vintage Burley Winter art pottery cranberry green vase. c:1872-1930's. Has the blended glaze of cranberry and deep green. No chips or cracks, and incised #40 on bottom. This vase is shown in D. Swingle's book on pg. 35. It stands almost 6 inches tall. Very nice vase and hard to find real vintage BW Pottery! Dresser Caddy/Planter, Freeman McFarlin, vintage. This cute caddy measures 7" long and is 4 3/4" high. In addition to the dog's cavity, there is another opening under his chin for small jewelry. Or, the piece can be used as a planter. This piece is is in very good vintage condition with the Freeman-McFarlin Originals El Monte label--slightly torn.  Vintage Burley Winter Pottery beanpot cookie jar. c:1872-1930's. This is a good sized beanpot and/or cookie jar, and is shown on pg. 28 of D. Swingle's book. It is 6.75 tall, very fat, and has an incised mark on bottom but the mark is hard to read. No chips or cracks; but it is missing the original lid. I put an antique stipled saltglaze lid atop it and it is a fairly close match except lid has none of the aqua color on it. There is one tiny lead line near top rim of pot, (looks like a hairline, but it's not), and it has some dirt residue on interior, (someone used it as a planter). It looks fine without lid as a vase, or with the added lid. Since the lid fits down into the pot, it does not really show much anyway. Book value in 1999 was $200-250. You may never see one of these again! Guaranteed vintage BW Pottery.  Vintage Burley Winter Pottery vase. c:1885-1937. Matte finish, blended glaze, two handled Burley Winter vase with incised number #54 on bottom. No chips or cracks; some glaze drips and a bit of clay waste on body and handle, (common on this pottery). It is quite hefty and stands 6.5 tall x 6.5 from handle end to other end. The colors are mainly green and burgandy/pink. Pictures of this vase are shown on pg. 23 of the book by D. Swingle, (these vases came in a variety of blended colors). A great old piece of hard to find American pottery for your collection! #1410ggau-4/14/06;sld:go5/07
