Gingham Dog and Calico Cat Salt and Pepper Shakers. Marked Ceramic Arts Studio on bottom. 3" Excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Frog and Toadstool, salt and pepper set,  with the frog 2 tall and the toadstool 2.5" tall.  Both pieces carry the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base.  "Neath the toadstool sits the serenading frog" is how this set is described in the Ceramic Arts Studio Book, published by Schiffer.  These date from 1949 and book for $100 to $130, depending on condition.  This pair is free of chips, cracks or damage of any kind, and they’re listed here for only  $65.    Ceramic Arts Studio Gypsies, or Rhumba Dancers as they are sometimes known, were produced in 1949.  The one is 7.25" tall, while the other is 7" tall.  Both carry the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base.  The lady’s tunic is green on beige, while the man’s is blue on beige. Both have dark black hair and golden accessories.   There are no chips, cracks or damage of any kind.  Just a wonderful pair that books from $80 to $120.  They are priced, however, at under $100 – or $82..  Ceramic Arts Studio Sleeping  Girl Angel, is 3.25" tall and was copyrighted  in 1947. She is guaranteed to be vintage CAS,  although she is not marked.  She’s free of chips, cracks or any damage.   Listed as scarce, in the Ceramic Arts Studio book from Schiffer,  she is valued there at $125 to $140, but she’s listed here for only $75.

Ceramic Arts Studio Small Skunk, 2 1/4" high, unmarked, excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Small Skunk, 1 7/8" high, unmarked, excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Zebra, 5" high, excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Zebra is 5"tall and has the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on his back leg, while the © is on his front leg.  Made in 1952, the CAS Collector’s Association shows him to be rare, and they list his value as between $350 - $450 in the Ceramic Arts Studio Schiffer Book for Collectors.  This little guy is free of chips, cracks or other damage.  He’s in great shape, and I’m asking far less than book value.  He can be yours for  $195

Ceramic Arts Studio Elsie Elephant is 5.25" tall and full of CAS charm with her fringed eye lashes and rosy cheeks.  Although she does not have the CAS mark, she is guaranteed to be vintage Ceramic Arts studio.  She does have the artist ink on the edge of the production holes on the base.  She was produced in 1949 and classified as hard to find with a price range of $85 to $115 by the Ceramic Arts Studio Collector’s group.   Ceramic Arts Studio Elephant salt and pepper shakers are 3.75" and 3.25" tall.  Their cleverly designed trunks tell you which is salt or pepper.  They date from 1950, and both have the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base.  Both are free of chips, cracks or other damage.  They are in wonderful shape, with the shiny gloss associated with Ceramic Arts Studio, along with their rosy little cheeks. Made in the USA.  Ceramic Arts Studio Mama Bear, 4 1/4" high, excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Oriental Kissing Kids Salt and Pepper Shakers, 3 1/4" high, excellent condition.

Hard to Find Becky Head Vase in Perfect Condition.  Manufactured by Ceramic Art Studios in the the 1950s it is heavy, substantial, perfectly painted, and topped off with a heavy shiny glaze.  Ceramic Art Studio Ralph the Goat dates from 1949 and is 4" tall.  He has a partial CAS mark on the bottom of one foot.  There are no chips, cracks or damage of any kind.  He is in superb condition and lists for $75 to $100 in the Schiffer CAS book.  He’s listed here for only 41.  Ceramic Arts Studio Lover Boy is 5" tall and well marked.  On the base is the Ceramic Arts Studio mark, along with Lover Boy.  He is at the heart of the Love Trio series of 1953.  As mentioned in the Schiffer CAS book, he is hard to find, and he books for $100 to $125.  There is one chip on his foot, so his price has been reduced from $85 to $45.  Please forgive any white glare marks on the pictures.  The one chip is on his foot, and there's a closeup.  It could be easily repaired.


 Ceramic Arts Studio Bashful Girl is 4.5" tall and well marked.  On the base is the Ceramic Arts Studio mark, along with Bashful’s name, along with 2 green spots.  She is part of the Love Trio series of 1953.  As mentioned in the Schiffer CAS book, she is hard to find.  She is listed there for $100 to $125. Please forgive any white glare marks on my pictures, as CAS pieces have such a high gloss finish. Free of chips, cracks or any damage, my price is $85.

Ceramic Arts Studio Minnehaha dates from 1949 and is 6.5" tall.  She has a high gloss finish, an excellent paint job, and the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the bottom of her feet.  She is part of the Ceramic Arts Studio Indian Group.  There are no chips or cracks.  There is no damage anywhere.  The Schiffer Ceramic Arts Studio book shows her as scarce, with a value of $250 to $290.  She’s being listed here for only $225.  Ceramic Arts Studio Hiawatha dates from 1949 and is 4.5" tall.  He has a high gloss finish, an excellent paint job, and the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on his base. He is part of the Indian Group.  There are no chips or cracks.  There is no damage anywhere. Produced in 1949, they are free of chips, cracks or damage.  Each carries the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base.   This pair books for $70 to $90 in the Schiffer Ceramic Arts Studio Book, but the pair is offered here for only $65 – less than lowest book, although they are in mint condition and should go for $90.  Ceramic Arts Studio Young Love Shelf-Sitters are 4.5" tall and classified as hard to find by the CAS Collectors Association.  They originated in 1950 and each is shown with a find of $40 to $50, or a total of $80 to $100 for the pair.  This pair is free of chips, cracks or any other damage.  They are in excellent shape.

Ceramic Arts Studio seahorse and and coral, made in 1951, is actually a snuggle salt and pepper set.  The  seahorse is 3.5" , and the coral is 3" tall.  The Schiffer Ceramic Arts Studio book lists each piece as hard to find, with a worth of  $50 to $75 each.  Both pieces have the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base.  There are no chips, cracks or epairs.   Ceramic Arts Studio Chinese Boy and Girl shelf sitters, produced in 1947, are  4"tall.  Each carries the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on the base, the rozy cheeks of CAS, and the high gloss finish.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  They are in mint condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Doxie and Fall Leaf set in excellent condition and were produced in 1952.    Doxie, the acorn, is 2.5" tall , and the leaf is 3.5" long.  Both pieces have the Ceramic Arts Studio stamp on the base, and both are in mint condition with no chips, crazing or cracks.  The colors are great.  The CAS Schiffer Book for Collectors - The Legacy of Betty Harrington - shows both pieces of this combo as hard-to-find, and they book for $60 to $80 each.    Ceramic Arts Studio Collie shelf-sitter is 5.25" tall and full of charm.  While he does not carry the CAS mark, there’s no mistaking the maker.  He’s guaranteed to be vintage Ceramic Arts Studio.  There are no chips, cracks or other damage.  He’s in excellent shape.

Ceramic Arts Studio Harmonica Boy shelf-sitter is 4" tall and produced in 1948.  Although he does not carry the CAS mark on his base, he carries the CAS artist  "color-coded decorator ‘tick marks’ " that are  inside the drain hole, on the base of every CAS piece.  Each CAS decorator had her own "tick mark code" and used these to identify pieces she decorated.  So the "tick mark" is a sure sign this is a piece by Ceramic Arts Studio, even if there is no base stamp.  There are no chips, cracks or crazing, and he has those rosy Ceramic Art Studio cheeks.  He’s in excellent, near mint, shape.  Ceramic Arts Studio Flute Girl is 4.5" tall and produced in 1948. This set is darling, with their rosy cheeks and Ceramic Art Studio marks on each base.  The boy, however, has a chip on the back of his hat rim, which could be easily repaired. With their trim of gold, both are in excellent condition for this one price.  Ceramic Arts Studio, Little Boy Blue, was produced in 1948.  He’s 4.5" long and sports a striped shirt.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  He’s in excellent shape, although a little sleepy.  Ceramic Arts Studio, Poncho, is 3.75" tall, even though he’s sitting down.  The paint colors are nice and bright, and he has the typical shiny Ceramic Arts Studio glaze.  Although unmarked, he is guaranteed to be vintage CAS, designed in 1947. Ceramic Arts Studio, Sonny, is a neat black dog who is 5.75" tall and produced in 1951.  The Ceramic Arts Studio stamp is on the base, along with his name of Sonny.  He’s precious!  His finish is very high gloss, which made him difficult to picture.  Please forgive any sun spots. No chips, cracks or repairs.  He is in like-new condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio, Speak No Evil,  is 5" tall and dates from 1950.  He is a neat angel with a green cloth.  His hands cover his mouth.  On the base of the cloud is the Ceramic Arts mark, and the name "SPEAK NO EVIL."  He has beautiful blue eyes, and even his toenails are painted.   There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  He’s in perfect shape and listed for $80 to $100 in the 2007 Antique Trader Antiques & Collectibles price guide.  Ceramic Arts Studio, Hear No Evil, is 5" tall and dates from 1950.  He is a neat angel with a green cloth.  His hands cover his ears.  On the base of the cloud is the Ceramic Arts mark, and its name "HEAR NO EVIL." Ceramic Arts Studio, Lillibelle, is 6.5" tall and dates from 1947.  The Belles series conveys an era of sophisticated refinement.  Lillibelle possesses the cool aloofness of a young maiden in the antebellum era.  Note the "net" gloves she’s wearing, essential in the southern heat.  She books for $70 to $85 in the Schiffer Ceramic Arts Studio book, but she’s listed here for only $40 since she has no clapper.  There are also no chips, cracks or repairs.  In excellent condition!  Ceramic Arts Studio Rhumba Dancer dates from 1949. She is 7" tall and proudly carries the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on her  base. She has a beautiful deep blue skirt, trimmed in gold.   There are no chips, cracks or repairs. She is in excellent condition, and almost makes you think you’re in Spain!  Ceramic Arts Studio, Jim, is 4.75" tall and full of charm.  Although not marked, he’s guaranteed to be vintage CAS.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  In excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio, June, is 4.5" tall, and she dates from around 1947.  Although not marked, she’s guaranteed to be vintage CAS. In excellent condition with pastel colors.  This piece  books for $125 to $150 in both the Legacy of Betty Harrington, Ceramic Arts Studio book, and the 2007 Antique Trader's price guide, it’s listed here for only $95.  vCeramic Arts Studio, Winter Willie, is 4" tall and full of detail.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  The Ceramic Arts Studio mark is missing, but it’s guaranteed to be vintage CAS.  In excellent condition with great colors from around 1949.  He books for $90 to $120 in the Legacy of Betty Harrington, Ceramic Arts Studio book  Ceramic Arts Studio fighting Leopard, 3.5" tall with paw up.  Great design and meticulous details, dating from around 1952.   No chips, cracks or repairs.  Has Ceramic Arts Studio stamp on bottom of paw, and is in excellent condition with vibrant colors.  Ceramic Arts Studio Encore Lady is 8" tall and well marked.  The Ceramic Arts Studio stamp, along with her name, is on the base.  I believe someone has attempted to "touch up" her face mask, but there are no chips or cracks.  One recently sold at auction for over $250, but since there is a question about the face mask, this one is listed for only $56.

Ceramic Arts Waving Pixie Girl was not very popular in its day, so they didn’t sell well.  Consequently, they didn’t make too many of them either.  This one dates from around 1949,  and is unmarked.  She is guaranteed to be vintage CAS, and she’s 2.75" tall.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs.  In excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts Studio Rhumba Dancers date from 1949.  He is 7.25" tall; she is 7" tall.  Both proudly carry the Ceramic Arts Studio mark on their base.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs on either.  They are in excellent condition.

 Ceramic Arts Head Vase – Becky – is 5.25" tall and not easy to find.  She dates from the 1950’s  and carries the Ceramic Arts Studio mark, Madison Wis on the base, along with her name of Becky.  She is free of chips, cracks or any damage.  In excellent condition.  Ceramic Arts fawn is 4,25" tall and was first made in 1949 as part of the Indian set.  He’s free of chips and cracks, but one of his legs may have been repaired as there seems to be a very, very slight difference of color.  I’m not sure.  He carries the CAS mark on his feet, and has been classified as hard to find.  He booked for between $85 to $100.
