The Most Recent Additions to This Category are First!
This lovely Colonial Silver giftware vase was made by Stangl Pottery in 1970. It is marked on the bottom that it was the 1970 President's Week Winner. The glaze treatment was introduced in the 1950s and 1960s. It is silver dry-brushed over a gray body. The gold and silver decorated lines were produced from about 1957 to 1977. This vase shape was cataloged as # 4050. Martin Stangl was known to use old molds for items in newer lines. Stangl Pottery officially closed on 11-1-1978.

The vase measures 8" high and 4 1/2" in diameter. It is a striking bulbous shaped vase.

This vase has an oval Stangl label on the outside and is stamp marked on the bottom. Please see photos.

It is in wonderful condition with a nice speckled glaze, twirl rim design and lovely pattern in great gold and green. It is 5 inches high and 10 inches wide. A great piece to find.  Great old pottery ashtray from Stangl Pottery of Trenton, New Jersey. Done in a turquoise and gold. Does have one small rim chip and a tiny glaze nick. Stands 1 ¾" tall by 7 ¼" wide.  Translated from Latin, the name Terra Rose literally means "pink earth". For that reason, when Martin Stangl introduced the hand-carved, hand-painted Early Pennsylvania dinnerware and artware items in 1942, he classified that finish as Terra Rose also, due to the "pink earth" of the red body showing through the thinly brushed engobe.

Terra Rose was the name of the "earthy" finish on these items, not the name of the pattern or decoration. During the late 1940s, Martin Stangl stopped using the Terra Rose designation on hand-carved, hand-painted dinnerware and artware. From that time forward, the name Terra Rose was used exclusively on items decorated with cobalt, copper, and manganese metallic stains glazed with tin oxide Silk glaze.

The marking on this basket: Terra Rose underglaze stamp, block letters, dates it between 1940 - 1950.

Large and impressive Stangl vase #5023 in the Granada Gold finish.

Does have a very small flake on top rim which is not noticeable on display( see magnified pix below), otherwise very good condition. 9½ H x 6 W  Lovely Stangl Pottery small square bowl with 2 handles in the Golden Glo pattern and marked underneath with the traditional insignia, pattern name and 'GG 3786' as well as 'Patent Pending'. Nice rich dark pink or dusty rose-type color with mottled gold decor towards the top of the piece and solid gold on the handles & gold on the rim.

Irregular roundish square to the top opening, measuring 4 3/8 inches across, with a total width including the handles of 6 3/8 inches, and sitting about 2 3/4 inches in height. When you look at this piece from the side, you can see that the top is not level, but is slightly lower on one side (the piece was made this way). In the images there is lighting reflection from the camera creating the white 'hot spots'.

Wonderful overall condition, no chips, cracks, crazing. We do see some light gray lines on the inside base of the bowl which look to be silverware use lines, they are not overly obvious, but you can see them when viewing the piece in bright light. The pink pottery itself is a matte color (not glossy except for where the gold is applied), with the expected many pin or pit dots. There may be some minor wear to the gold, it's hard to tell with this pattern since the gold is not painted on in a solid fashion. There are a couple of minor spots or rubbed areas on the underside base on which the piece sits, in addition to the expected 3 circles or spots from the manufacture of the piece. A very attractive pottery item.  Stangl Toastmaster Divided Relish Tray, 7 1/4". One little surface glaze chip on divider (1/8" x 1/16"), otherwise excellent.
