This is a very nice vintage coffee carafe made by Western Stoneware. The coffee carafe and lid are glazed a cinnamon tan with dark speckles. This durable dinnerware was a gas station premium or give-away during the 1950s through 1960s. 


The carafe measures 10" tall. The opening is 2" in diameter. 


The bottom of the carafe is unglazed and is impressed with the Western Stoneware maple leaf and USA. Please see photos. 


The carafe and lid are in excellent condition, though they could use light dusting and cleaning. The carafe pitcher and lid have fine surface scratches consistent with their age, normal use and storage. There are no flea-bites, chips, cracks, crazing or repairs of any kind. Spots are reflections from photography flash and lighting.  Western Stoneware Brown Drip Soup Mug.  Size( Length: , Diameter: , Height: 2 1/2"" ). Description: WIDTH 4 3/4  vintage Western Stoneware bowl, made in USA.  It is actually a much darker brown than what is pictured, as I had to use my flash.  The bowl measures 9 3/4" in diameter and is approximately 5" in height.  The outside is ringed.  The bottom is stamped with the familiar "W" inside of a maple leaf. The top rim is unglazed, as is the bottom of the rim.  There are no chips, cracks or breaks, other than firing marks and is in overall great condition!  Three vintage Monmouth spatterware items for one price! c:1967. Incised Maple Leaf with Momnouth Ill USA. Note the old State abbreviation. First is the covered casserole; it is in nice condition and bottom part is 4 tall x 7 wide not counting lid. Next is the batter bowl; it is 4.75 tall x 7.75 wide. Last is the mixing bowl that is 4.5 tall x 7.75 wide. All are in good usable condition, no chips or cracks. Lehner's book states that the clay used by Western is heat-resistant, and lead-free, so you can use this if you want! Western Stoneware Co. was only in business from 1906-1985. 8/10hhestcs-r

Great looking vintage Monmouth buttermilk pitcher. Stoneware; good condition and usable. Stands 6.25 tall. Raised Monmouth USA on bottom. 5/10esa#3099  This Chain Link line has been attributed to the Western Stoneware Company. This milk pitcher, with a nice deep blue glaze, is 5 inches tall. No chips or hairlines. It is unmarked.  Marcrest Daisy and Dot Creamer Sm Cream Pitcher Vintage.

No chips, cracks, crazing. Scratches, if any, are minuscule. Has the usual tiny bubble pops.


Nice addition to a American Dinnerware or Art Pottery Collection.  This is a big and beautiful crock pottery with lid by Western Stoneware Pottery Co.  Measures 6" tall without lid, 5 3/8" opening and holds 9 cups. Embossed on bottom:  USA.  This is a lovely piece, it is clean, in very good condition and SHINY IN AND OUT.

Western Stoneware 9 Cup Lided Crock Pott $24.99

This is a Western Stoneware Brown Drip handled Chili/Soup Bowl.  Measures 4 7/8" across and stands 2 1/8" and holds about ten ounces. Marked with the Maple Leaf and USA backstamp.  Three bowls are available and prices is per bowl.  All bowls are clean, in very good condition and SHINY IN AND OUT.

 This Chain Link line has been attributed to the Western Stoneware Company. The Chain Link decoration is around the entire bottom. This bowl is slightly flared, round at the top and tapers down to a square bottom. Nice deep blue glaze. Measures 4 1/2 inches tall, 8 1/4 inches across. A couple of factory flaws around the top rim where the glaze has not covered the surface. No chips or hairlines. It is unmarked.  This Chain Link line has been attributed to the Western Stoneware Company. The Chain Link decoration is around the entire bottom, and on the top of the lid. This 2 piece covered bowl, with a nice deep blue glaze, is 5 1/2 inches tall. Bottom part is 8 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches tall. Lid is 8 3/8 inches across. Lid also has a collar to keep it from sliding off the bottom. A few spots where the glaze has not covered the surface. No chips or hairlines. It is unmarked.  Monmouth American Art Pottery Jardiniere Flower Pot


White horizontal ribbed jardiniere with hanging leaves.  I believe this is the outer portion of a two piece jardiniere which originally had a pot with a lip which set into it. Both parts combined make a lovely flower planter.


It is white stoneware pottery with unglazed interior and semi-matte exteriour glaze.


Unmarked - I think made by the Monmouth Pottery / Western Stoneware Company in Monmouth, Illinois. 


Measures 5 1/8 inches tall X 4 ¾ inches diameter at top.


Outer surface is very nice. NO chips, cracks, or scratches.  There is a little light crazing, 2 tiny bubble pops, some tiny black specks and pimples in the pottery, and a few very light minor metal marks.  Interior shows rust residue.


Maybe you have the other piece. Nice addition to a vintage Pottery Collection.

         Old Sleepy Eye  was a Sioux Indian Chief born in Minnesota in 1780. A town and a flour mill were named after him.         


In 1906 - Western Stoneware Co. of Monmouth Illinois started producing Cobalt & White items with the bust of the Indian Chief.         


These pitchers - creamers - sugars - salt boxes - vases - and other items were used as everyday utilitarian wares.                          This very collectible #4 pitcher measures approx 8 inches tall to top of spout.         


It does have some crazing and staining from age that could be bleached out.  There are a couple very tiny lower rim chips and one that is one glaze - made during manufacturing.

It is in very good condition for it's age and probable usage.       


Would be a very nice addition to an Old Sleepy Eye or Blue & White Stoneware Collection.

 Monmouth Pottery Yellow Hanging Flower Pot Vase Planter Unmarked.  

   

Small hanging pot with 2 handles for string. 


Measures 4 1/4 inches high X 5 3/8 inches diameter hanger to hanger. 


NO chips - cracks - scratches. There are a few very light rubs along the upper rim and very fine overall crazing which is hard to see unless held under light. 


It has the usual small bubble pops - small pottery chunks inside - some tiny black specs / marks under glaze - and one small 1/8 inch rust spot about 1 inch up from the bottom. 


I think this is Monmouth - the marking on bottom confuses me. It is marked with an embossed U.S.A. inside an impressed rectangle. 


It's a lovely pot and would make a very nice addition to a pottery collection or porch / patio decor.  Nice Pottery Kitchenware storage container with Colonial Lady in bonnet on the front. 


USA mark on the bottom.


Measures 3 3/8 inches tall x 4 1/2 inches diameter.


Gently Used. No damage.

 Small vintage Monmouth stoneware mercury jug. Monmouth/Western Stoneware small jug with cobalt blue lettering: Mercury. This jug is pictured in the book on Monmouth-Western Stoneware by J. Martin, pg. 80. (There is no actual mercury in this jug.) No chips or cracks, and stands 5.25 high x 3 wide. Very neat for your miniature stoneware collection! (The other miniature jugs in the picture are for sale separately!). Monmouth started in business in 1906 to 1954; WSC 1906-1985. Age est. on this jug: turn-of-the-century. The mini stoneware jugs/crocks look great on display in a child size hutch which doesn't take up a lot of space!

This Chain Link line has been attributed to the Western Stoneware Company. The Chain Link decoration is around the entire bottom, and on the top of the lid. This 2 piece covered casserole, with a nice deep blue glaze, is 6 inches tall. Bottom part is 9 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches tall. Lid is 9 inches across, 2 1/2 inches tall. Lid also has a collar to keep it from sliding off the bottom, and 2 tab handles. No chips or hairlines. It is unmarked.  Vintage Monmouth spatterware covered casserole pot. c:1967. 2 in store, price is for one. Very attractive dark tan with deep burgandy spatterware motif. Incised maple leaf logo on bottom, and the words: Monmouth, Ill USA. Note the old State abbreviation. The pottery company that made this is actually called: Western Stoneware Co., Monmouth, Illinois. Most people just refer to it as Monmouth. One tiny gouge in bottom rim which doesn't show or affect stance on one of them. These stand about 6 tall with lid on x 8.5 wide; or 3.5 tall without lid on. Lehner's book states that the clay used by Western is heat-resistant, and lead-free, so you can use this if you want! Western Stoneware Co. was only in business from 1906-1985. estcs  This is a banded bowl by Western Stoneware Pottery.   Bowl measures 3" tall x 5" wide.  Has Monmouth logo and USA.  In very good condtion and SHINY IN/OUT.  Manufactured by Western Stoneware Pottery.  This is a coffee crock with NO LID.  Bottom has Monmouth Maple Leaf Logo and reads Monmouth, Ill. U.S.A.  Measures 5" tall x 4 3/4" wide. This crock is clean, in very good condition and SHINY IN AND OUT.
