Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry. Like Volumes 1 and 2, Modern Fishing Lure Collectibles, Volume 3, deals primarily with items made since 1940 in the United States. Volume 3 continues author Russell Lewis's tradition of providing large, crisp photos, realized prices for items, and histories to go along with both well-known and often forgotten fishing lure companies. Expanded information on companies that could not be fully covered in Volumes 1 and 2 is included, as well as new companies: Horrocks-Ibbotson CompanyWood's LuresL & S Minnows... and Cicso Kid Lures, to name just a few. The book gives the reader a true image of a particular year in fishing tackle history through advertisements from the time period, detailed facts, and representative photographs. While Volume 2 gave the complete history for nearly 50 years by examining vintage catalogs, this volume shows many of the actual rods and reels in photographs with approximate values when known for items from 1937 through 1952. Lewis gives a complete history of all rods, reels, and lures available for sale in the United States for 1952. This volume contains no repeats from Lewis's other books and identifies previously unknown items. It is a perfect companion to author Lewis's other volumes. PUBLISHER'S REVIEW The great variety of fishing lures with the differences in their bright markings and sizes can be disarming to even experienced collectors. With his 20 years experience as a collector, Lewis makes sense of this area of collecting by classifying the lures by their makers, and with introductory essays on "Dating Techniques" and the "Modern Era." The chapters with the classifications are more than simple listings of numerous lures... -Henry Berry  Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. In short, you'll know your M1911 inside and out. As bonuses, the Guide includes a comprehensive Colt Model Number list and a compilation of trainers and shooting academies that we feel are worth your time and money. As a youth, the author marveled at the mind that could conceive such a wondrous mechanism; how could John Browning have created it without X-ray vision? It comes apart without tools, it goes together without tools, it is the lightning you hold in your fist. It has endured for a century, and if Robert Heinlein's vision is true, it will endure for centuries more. Slim, powerful, elegant of line, capable of great beauty and brutish minimalism in turn, a tabla rasa for an owner's imagination, the jumping-off point for a horde of manufacturers. In all of history, two handguns stand out as innovative, enduring, and widely emulated, and both happen to be Colts: the Model 1873 "Peacemaker," and the M1911 pistol. No handguns as practical have captured the imagination as have these two American classics. Capable of great accuracy, the power and simplicity of the M1911 make it a most useful defensive tool. The M1911 Complete Owner's Guide is designed to help the reader make the most of that tool. The M1911 Complete Owner's Guide gives you a look into the history and development of the M1911, as well as giving you everything you need to know to use and maintain your M1911.  Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas.
