Each of these 4 1/4 x 6 inch postcards is a 1997 reproduction of early 1900’s cigar label art. The trade cards are from the personal collection of C. Stryker Lampe, cigar aficionado and collector.

The four featured cigar trade/postal cards are a Bantam card, with two roosters, and the wording, Worth Fighting For, a Los Brasilieros card featuring two women elegantly dressed in a tropical setting, the Tobacco Examiner Plantation Owner card, and La Vicoma which depicts ladies and cherubs with cigars.

All four are in great condition without markings, tears or creases. Each is dated 1997, Lampe Vision, Inc. on the backside and was published by Chronicle Books.  Here is a very nice vintage purse or pocket ashtray for your collection. It is embossed goldtone metal in the form of a tiny silent butler.

Shipping: $2.60 via 1st class mail.  This is a porcelain table-top ash tray, match holder. It is white with red stripes for accent and no makers mark. It has the word "strike" with arrows on two sides, pointing to the striker on the side of the holder. The holder measures 6" across by 3 ¼" tall. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, but it does have a few craze spots in the glaze.

A metal Cigarette case. Bugler brand. I believe from the '50's era. In displayable condition.  Purchased in Europe many years ago, appears to depict a man on a mountain top, holding his feathered cap up as if to prepare to yodel? unsure? Swiss or German perhaps? Any information is welcomed!

Appears to be 1920s or so, back has the numbers: 1078 on it. Measures about 5" by nearly 4", ashtray but can be used as a dish for candy perhaps. Nice old patina, sold unpolished, as found, lovely and warm oxidation! Great vintage condition. Heavy solid brass (or bronze?)  A mint green blended with an overlay of antique gold add up to marvelous Art Deco looking Stangl pottery pieces. The wedge-shaped ashtray, measures 8 inches long and is 5 1/2 inches at its widest point. Stamped in gold under the base with the Stangl name, Trenton, N.J., it carries the mold number 3904 and is in terrific condition without cracks, chips, or nicks.

The second pottery piece is a 5 1/2 inch diameter fluted edged dish which could be used for candy or mints or just as part of an Art Deco display. The color combination is similar to the ashtray, but it carries the mold #4033 under the base, along with the Stangl name in gold. This dish is without damage issues and both of these pottery pieces were created in the 50’s/70’s time frame.  A rough finished 5.25" vintage tobacco pipe stamped Bijou. The bowl appears cracked at the rim.

Featuring a transfer design of Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral, this mini ashtray measures 3 inches square and is done on a white background. Made of porcelain, there is heavy gold treatment on the four cigarette rests, as well as being edged in gold.

This petite ashtray appears to have been used for display only, and is stamped on the backside, Lilien Porzellan, Austria.  This is a classic Heinrich, Germany porcelain ashtray advertising the Age Old Asbach Brandy of the Rhine. Measuring 5 1/2 inches square, the white ashtray has a scrolled, slightly scalloped edging with a recessed inner portion. Asbach Uralt is printed in gold in the center, with The great Brandy from the Rhine printed in gold beneath.

The ashtray, which has four cigarette rests, is also trimmed in gold. There are no damage issues on this advertising ashtray and it has the Heinrich, Germany stamp and crown on the backside.  A very attractive 6 inch in diameter porcelain ashtray done on an inset white background with a transfer design of Cologne’s Kolner Dom Cathedral (printed as Koln-RH-Dom under the scene). The 1 inch border is mauve in color with delicate flower and leaf design in gold. The four individual cigarette rests are done in heavy gold treatment.

Although there are no manufacturer’s marks on this ashtray, the Cologne city crest and the Cathedral printing would likely make this ashtray of German origin. It is in fine vintage condition without any cracks, chips, or nicks, and by its appearance would have been used for display only.

Amber and etched sterling silver cigarette holder, c1940s. Still in it's original box which reads: Echt Silber (Austrian for genuine silver). The amber mouthpiece resembles Bakelite. This vintage cigarette holder measures about 3.25 inches total length and looks like it has never been used! Excellent condition.

A wonderful 7 inch commemorative Homer Laughlin stamped ashtray done in brown, ivory and blue colors celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Bell System and H.G.McCully Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. The anniversary celebration was held in Atlantic City and this information is also printed on the ashtray.

Finding an almost sixty year collectible in excellent condition has become increasingly difficult and this one is without damage issues with only some slight loss to the gold trim. The triangle symbol for the Bell System is on front of the ashtray along with the Bell building in Union City, New Jersey.

The Laughlin blank was decorated by LaRou of Union City, N.J. and this information, along with the Homer Laughlin trademark and date stamp of 1956, is on the backside of the ashtray.  Signed: Space Age Products – Downey, Calif. – Patents Pending

This neat cigar cutter intrigued me with the design of the Persian War Horse. It is solid brass and measures 7 1/2 inches long. Overall, the condition is very good, though I do see one small spot of verdis gris which should polish out if you desire. I don't see any markings.  This is a lovely green and white 4 1/2 inch in diameter porcelain ashtray done as a commemorative in 1947 for the University of Maine. Old pipe bowl, from a clay pipe - it is in the shape of a head, a bearded man, probably a notable figure or politician of the day. Circa 1910. Measures about 4 cm high and 3.3 cm deep (1.5/8 inches by 1.1/4 inches). These pipes were made to be disposable, but I don’t think this one has been used, although there is a scorch mark on the top and a minor chip at the rear. They were quite crudely made, as it was customary to break your pipe at the end of an evening’s carousing and smoking.  Vintage, three bears cigarette and match holder.
