Early 1900's Cigarette SILK - Orchids $14.00
27 different cigarette silks, each sold separately, marked as coming from Egyptienne Straights Cigarettes at the bottom. Show individual flags and the corresponding name from different cities or countries. Many are also marked along the top with "Factory No. 2153 Third Dist. N.Y." Size about 2 1/8 x 3 1/4 inches with varied condition. Most have tight side edges while many have fraying along the top and bottom, with some a lot more than others. Some are slightly dirty or soiled or have spotting, and several have creasing or folded bottom or top edges. All have been shown in the images but please use the 'question' button to e-mail for individual information. Priced each. Flag silks available: Austria Hungary (Man of War Flag), Bavaria (2 silks), Bulgaria, China (Merchant Flag), Cuba, Denmark, Edinburgh, Equador, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Japan (2 silks), Luxembourg, Milan, Munich, N.S. Slightly dirty appearance with slight darkening along vertical edges, slight fraying at top and bottom, vertical sides while tight are not straight appearing to curve in and out, remains of a diagonal fold in lower part below Chattanooga name, also slightly dirty appearance on backside.  Columbia University (in New York) Cigarette Silk distributed as a giveaway with Egyptienne Luxury Cigarettes. While it is hard to see due to fraying at the bottom you can see the remains of a marking of "Egyptienne Luxury" and at the top you can see a very light marking of "Factory No. 7 3rd District State NY." Measures about 3 1/4 x 1 7/8 inches. Fraying at top, bottom, and along right edge with very beginning of fraying on left edge, remains of multiple diagonal folds.  University of California Cigarette Silk distributed as a giveaway with Egyptienne Luxury Cigarettes. The silk is marked at the bottom "Egyptienne Luxury" and at the top with "Factory No. 7 3rd District State NY." Measures about 3 1/4 x 1 7/8 inches. Slightly dirty appearance, fraying along top, bottom and right vertical edge with a spot of separation along top edge.

Cigarette Silk of Ethel Johnson who we believe is an important person in women's history and perhaps the suffragette movement, but are not sure. No manufacturer marking; could have been a giveaway by Egyptienne Cigarettes since we got this with many other cigarette silks made by them, but don't know this for certain, either. Measures about 1 1/8 x 2 7/8 inches. Fraying on both vertical sides with a black spot near the top end, some spotting on reverse side.  St. Lawrence University (in New York) Cigarette Silk distributed as a giveaway with Egyptienne Luxury Cigarettes. The silk is marked at the bottom "Egyptienne Luxury" and at the top with "Factory No. 7 3rd District State NY," with the last a bit hard to read on this silk but we know this is what it says from others which we received with it that say the same thing. Measures about 3 1/8 x 1 3/4 inches. Slightly dirty appearance with the remains of a former horizontal fold and slight fraying at top and bottom; also slightly dirty appearance on backside.  1900's butterfly tobacco silks (7) from the makers of Tokio Cigarettes. Two, of the 7 silks, are marked with "FACTORY NO.649.FIRST DIST.,N.Y."  Liberia flag on silk from the makers of Egyptiemie Straights Cigarettes.
