This is a nice clean 15.5" long, two speed hand drill marked "YANKEE NO. 1545 NORTH BROS. MFG. CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A. PAT. NOV.2.97 JULY.28.06, AUG.23.10", and some other patent dates, on the nickel plated controll switch area, Also marked "YANKEE NORHT BROS. MFG. CO. PAT. APR.15.10" on the 3 jaw chuck sleeve. North Brothers was one of the top maker's of hand, breast, and push drills, from the late 1800's to 1946, when the sold out to Stanley Tools. This model was the largest 2 speed hand drills with a very slow, and fast speeds, and lots of other options like ratchet forward and reverse, lock etc. The speed selector is the flip switch type, located near the exposed drive handle face plate assembly area, it turns back and forth to adjust the speed, low, or high. The wood side handle is the removable type with a threaded post at the end to attach it very securely to the main frame of the drill. The crank handle is also removeable, the wood handle is solid, most of the stain finish worn off, functions just fine. The end handle is removeable, and has a storage area inside for the included drill bits you see in the picture. The 3 jaw chuck will hold straight shank drill bit up to the 3/8" diameter capacity, and is in good++ condition, minor wear noted, turns true on center. As you can see in the pictures there is some paint loss on the this hand drill, in fact very little left intact, but no rust or pitting, with very good moving parts, and looks good too! The end handle has a nickel plated threaded knurl that attaches it firmly and solid to the drill frame, all in very good working condition, and this handle ferrule is also marked "PAT. APR.15.13". We note a few minor dings the end wood handle very solid, not cracked, in good working condition overall. All the gears are intact and in very good working condition on this drill, and it operated very smoothly. This model has more moving parts and gears than any other hand drill in it's size catagory. Remember it does have several oil ports, and requires regular daily oiling when in use. A nice tool overall!

This is a very nice clamp on type shotgun shell crimping press, in very good condition. These were designed for paper shells according to the 1902 catalog. This one is designed for the 12-gauge shells. This one is marked in raise cast lettering "IDEAL MFG. CO. CONN. PAT. JAN. 14, AUG. 18 1896". It is also stamped "*12" on the outer spindle area. It has two nice rosewood handle, and one thumbscrew to hold the unit to the work bench or table. The rosewood is in very nice condition, no cracks, very little wear. This has about 80% of it's original black Japanned finish intact, and is in very good working condition. We note very little and minor pitting on the cast parts, none on the steel areas that hold the shell, and the adjustments. Otherwise, all is in very good condition.

This is a listing for the sale of two clean spiral ratchet screwdrivers, both marked "STANLEY HANDYMAN YANKEE MADE IN U.S.A." on the metal area near the selector switch. One is also marked "NO. 233H" and the other one with the black painted handle is marked "NO. 133H". The black handle is made of hardwood, and the NO. 233H has a bit storage area inside the molded plastic handle, and has a threaded end cap made of metal, so it is rugged, and both handles are well attached. Each measures 8.5" long overall without the bit in the chuck, both have the same spring loaded spiral action and forward/reverse and lock ratchet action. The main difference betwen the two is the handle type. The handles are both solid with the black handle being quite nice, little wear, and the plastic handle have more wear, some stains and minor scratches on the plastic. The selector on this one moves smoothly and holds position very well, three position, left, right, lock on each. These two screwdrivers come with one set of 6 different bits, 3 slot bit, and 3 drill bits. The bits are removeable, and has a 3/16" or .187" diameter shank, and will except that size bits that we also offer for sale (under Yankee with the search feature). All 6 bits fit into the handle of the NO. 233H for storage, and all fit into both screwdriver chucks (you can use the same bits in either screwdriver chuck). All the bits are in good to very good condition, the drill are sharp and ready to use. A nice pair of Yankee handlyman screwdriver/push drills!

This is a very nice industrial tool (wrenches and other cast tools) catalog from the 1912 era! It is marked on the front cover "1912 J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. SUPERIOR DROP FORGINGS BROOKLYN NEW YORK", inside it is also marked "FIFTEENTH EDITION APRIL, 1912. We also note that the Incorporation date is on the same page "JULY 1, 1895". This catalog has many wrenches for nuts and bolts, plus chain pipe wrenches, and other speciality wrenches and tools. Williams and Company also made parts for combustion engines, like crank shafts and connecting rods, also in this catalog with pictures and full discriptions and pricing. There is many pictures, including inside the William plant, a street map to show the plant location, and pictures of about every machine part of tool they drop forged, some in full page pictures showing 40-50 parts together in one photo. All the pictures are black and white, there is 134 pages. The size is 4 x 6" catalog with a paper cover showing a double ended wrench on the front cover and the brand name "VULCAN" and "AGRIPPA" above the wrench. The spine of the cover is about 40% intact, the front and back cover are all there and attached, with color wear mostly, one small rip on the back cover, and some shop fingerprint type dirt on the cover and on many of the pages. Otherwise, the binding is still in nice condition with minor corner wear, good tight binding, no missing pages. There is some minor dirt smudges on the page edges, and some pages, but good overall. It is profusely illustrated, on good heavy paper pages. A very rare and hard to find catalog of a welll known quality toolmaker!

Age est: 1950's. 10/11brcs  This is a nice antique 8" long double ended alligator wrench with 3 different bolt re-threading sizes in the center area. This wrench is marked "THE HAWKEYE HAWKEYE WRENCH CO. MARSHALLTOWN IA" on one side, and "PAT. NO. 720554 PAT'S PENDING" on the other side. The patent number reflects a 1903 year date. There is no rust or pitting noted, but there is some minor wear on the jaw teeth at both end, however it is still in good+ useable condition on square shaped nuts and bolt heads.  This is a nice adjustable double square with the 41 & 59 Degree drill angle blade included. These 8" long overall end nipper pliers are in very good condition with removable cutters. They are marked "TODD'S PAT NO.4 MADE IN U.S.A.". Todd had the patent on this interchangable cutters nipper type pliers in 1876, but it is not known what company made them, or for how long. This is a tool that is not made any more today, yet is still useful to contractors who work with heavy wire such as in concrete work. I cut wire 1/8" thick with these nippers with no harm done to the cutters at all! The adjustable stop keeps the cutters from hitting together when the wire is snipped, thereby prolonging the cutter life. These will open up to 1/4" between cutters! A great tool design, in great working condition! Cutters are in very good condition, very good cutting edge, and alignment, 99% like new. These cutters work very well on heavy wire, but not made for piano or instrument type wire. A very nice nipper, clean, no rust, with a good snug pivot joint, they work just fine. Hard to find in this nice shape, and also in this small size!

Very nice antique tool!  This is a very rare tool manufactured in the late 1800's era in Greenfield Mass! This is the improved model from the original 1890 patented model, featuring a seperate ratchet movement for both directions (clockwise and counterclockwise). The counterclockwise movement is release by one of the brass knurled, threaded nuts on the main shaft. In order to use the counterclockwise motion the clockwise motion has to be locked in place so it will not turn, this is done by tightening the knurled nut closest to the chuck. This is one of the first I have seen with this style spiral drive control on it. This slot bit screwdriver is 13.3" long fully extended, 8.7" long closed and locked in a stationary position, without the bit in the chuck. This one is in good useable condition, with one 1/4" wide slot bit included. The middle brass handle ferrule is marked "GOODELL .... U.S.A. 1897". There is more maker's marking on the brass, but the above is what we can read. Goodell Brothers., the original patent holder, became Goodell-Pratt Co. in 1899. This is a unique design with a good solid wood handle, that has some wear, dings on the butt end mostly and some scratches noted, but still looks nice. The ratchet and spiral features are in nice shape, little wear, smooth operation, seems to have a little more clearence in the spiral movement, and end shaft near the chuck also. This account for a little bit of wiggle in the shaft overall. The bit is removable, held in place very tightly with a good collet type screw chuck. Overall a very nice clean tool! One of the first we have seen of this type, in this nice of condition! Rare!

From the 1950s,Like NEW! Takes 2 Size D Batteries,Very Clean and in Excellent Condition. Shipping is $5.45 USA Domestic Priority (3 days).  This 11" long overall antique end nipper pliers are in good++ condition with removable cutters. They are marked "CAREW'S PAT. WARRENTED FORGED STEEL MADE IN U.S.A. 10", there is also a past owner's stamp in 6 places "22". Carew held the patent from 1882-1891, but it is not known what company made them. The cutting edges on the cutters are very good very useable condition, with some minor wear on the cutters' cutting edges, mostly near the outher edges. The cutters and pivot joints, as well as the adjustable stop screw are all in very good working order. A great tool design, in great working condition! Cutters are in good condition, minimal wear, good edge, and alignment. These cutters work very well on heavy wire, but not made for piano or instrument type wire. A very nice nipper, clean, some minor dings noted on the handle area mostly, with a good snug pivot joint, no rust. Hard to find in this nice shape!

It is 5.5 long and has a hole in top for the string to come out. The top screws off. A great antique tool for your manly man's tool chest! 7/11armcs  This is a nice clean knife handle type monkey wrench with the two piece wood (metal center section) handle. There is some wear noted on the screwdriver tips, a few scratches on the metal, but the tips are in very good, useable condition overall. The screwdriver is in very good mechanical condition also. They are marked "CAREW'S PAT. WARRENTED FORGED STEEL MADE IN U.S.A. 10". Carew held the patent from 1882-1891, but it is not known what company made them. The cutting edges on the cutters are very good except for one chip off one of the two cutters on one end as shown in the picture, still very useable. This is a nice quality made ratchet screwdriver, 5.5" long x .18 & .31" slot screw tip widths & one Phillips tip. Ratchet right, left or lock, bits are mounted on a slide that slip into the center shaft of the screwdriver, pick the bit you want to use, slide to others out of the way. This little screwdriver type was manufactured and patented by several different companies over the years, this one is one of the latest with a patent number from the mid-70's.  This is a nice clean very well made, quality pair of cast steel heavy-duty C-Clamps in very good condition. U.S.A." on one side, and No. 139-3" on the other side. We know that this company was originally owned by Thomas R. Almond, and we operated in Brooklyn N.Y. from 1879-1904, then in 1904 it was sold to Charelton A. Hubbell who moved the company to Ashburnham Mass. in 1907 and re-named the company T.R. ALMOND MFG. CO.. Hubbell did patent a micrometer caliper in 1918, No. 1,267,075, that may apply to this microter as well. A later patent was granted by the U.S. PATENT OFFICE on DEC.26.1922 also for a micrometer caliper. This is the first we have seen of the style by this company, with the cast A in the main frame on both sides. The micrometer is in very good condition both in appearence and useable condition. It has been calibrated and is accurately set, very little if any wear noted, no rust, no damage, very good condition. It comes with a calibration wrench in good shape, and a fitted velvet lined wooden case, also marked with the maker's name on the outside lid. The black leather material on the exterior has worn off the wood case in some places, and one end wooden piece is missing of the case, otherwise solid condition with good hinges and latch. Truly a very rare micrometer by The Almond Mfg. Co., particularly in this size!  This is a rare antique, vernier depth gauge with both the 6" and the 12" vernier scale/rules with the inch graduations on one side of each rule. The narrow rules are specially made for this tool No. 600 only. The rules are marked "B&S MFG. CO. PROV. R.I. U.S.A. 600" and have graduations that allow reading down to .001" combined we the scale on the frame of the tool. Overall this tool is in very good working, good clean rules with only very minor staining to report in a few small areas, the main body of the tool is very clean, no rust on any part, has a good working fine adjustment and all the screws and threads are in very good working order. The base is 2.6" wide. We do note the fine adjustment screw appears to be a replacement screw, but it is the correct size screw, just a slightly different head on it. The case is a good solid two piece wood type with a thin black leather like material over the wood. The leather is worn off on some corners, but otherwise in good shape. The hinges and latches all work well, and it is custom fit inside for both rules and the main No. 600 gauge, velvet lines inside. Overall a nice antique machinist gage, in very good working order! This fine adjustment type depth gauge is still availiable today, new for over $400 without the nicely lined case.

This is a rare antique, patented light duty 1.5" capacity machinist C-clamp marked "CIN. TOOL CO." on one side of the frame, and "H 570" on the other side. It also has a raised cast lettering patent number on the wing part of the screw marked "PAT. 2016085 C.T. CO.", the patent number reflects a 1936 patent date. The H inside a circle represents the Cincinnati Tool Co. trade mark name HARGRAVE, which was often cast into various larger model C-clamp they manufactured. This clamp is used, but in very useable condition. It appears to have been painted red at one time, most of that paint is worn off. The screw threads are in great shape. The screw diameter is smaller than most they made, only 1/4", so we consider this clamp to be a light duty clamp, even though the cast iron frame is ample for this size. A hard to find quality made machinist clamp, as most we see have been damaged, this one had no rust and is in good straight condition!  This is a top quality larger size tap wrench in very good used condition. The T-handle design allows the handle to slide smoothly from one side to the other, and the handle has a spring pushing against it in the handle, so it always remains very snug and holds in the place where you set it. This type of tap wrench is precision machined so that the tap when held in the chuck remains on-center and there is a center hole at the opposite end to align the wrench with the hole to be tapped in a milling machine type set up for example, so that the tapped hole remains on the same center as the drilled hole in that machine set up. The wrench head part is about 4" long, the handle is 6" long, and the adjustable chuck will hold taps from 3/16" to 5/16" square. A very nicely made tool!  This Planer Shaper Gage is in good working condition including the level sight tube, and a removeable 2.000" spindle. The gage appears to have had a gun bluing type finish that has somewhat worn off over the years. We note only minor staining on the bare metal surfaces. The gauge is marked "THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A. NO. 246" on one side. It measures 5" long overall. It is square on the outside surfaces, so you can lay it down or stand it up on the 5" length and use it that way also. The pipe jaws appear to have never been used, very good shape. The main jaws are 3.5" wide and have removeable jaw plates intact with very little minimal wear. The jaw capacity it about 4.75" between jaws, and the vise stands 6.25" tall and weighs 17 pounds. It has a good working swivel base, the side lever nut tightens it in position. The base has three 5/16" diameter clearence hole for mounting it to your work bench. This one has no rust, no damage, some paint loss, but about 80% green paint intact. A few minor dings here and there, but in very good condition, very clean overall. The anvil areas appear to have never been used. A quality U.S.A. made bench vise!

This is a good used (antique) Yankee push drill with a new straight shank, standard drill bit adapter. Yes, this means that you can use any straight shank drill bit from 1/32" to 1/8" diameter straight shanks, with this North Brothers No. 41 push drill! We supply a total of 6 drill different bits that not only fit into the keyless chuck on the push drill, but also fit into the handle storage area too! The supplied spiral type drill sizes will be 3/64", 1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 7/64, & 1/8" diameters, included in the price of the drill. The push drill is marked "YANKEE NO. 41 NORTH BROS. MFG. CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A. PAT. OCT.29.01". This push drill is 10" long overall with no drill bit in the chuck, and the supplied bright finish, twist drill bits are 1-3/4 to 2" long overall, and the bits can be chucked up short if you wish, so that only the fluted part of the drill is showing. This adds strength to the drill bits when drilling, particularly with the smallest diameter bits. There is a cross pin/screw about 1/2" behind the chuck that keeps the drills from falling into the shaft section of the push drill. The chuck is a 3 jaw, keyless screw chuck, and holds the drill bits very tightly in place, but is easy to tighten and loosen. This push drill is in very good working condition, with a few scratches, some tiny dings and minor wear, about 70% nickel plating intact. The main advantage to these drills with the new straight shank drill adapter will allow you to use standard drill set bits in the small sizes. Since the old style Yankee bits are no longer being manufactured, they are hard to find new, and their cost has been on the increase, at about $4-$7 each for each new Yankee bits, where standard straight shank bits are about $2 per bit, and you can buy them at most any hardware or tool store. We have tested these drills ourselves, and find that the spiral drill cut very well in wood, plastic, and plastic (or drywall). You can use them effectively on sheet metal if a center punch is provided in the metal to keep the drill bit from slipping out of place while starting the drill hole. The quality of these drill bits surpasses the old style Yankee bits, and we believe these bits will far out last any of the Yankee bits from the past, based on our tests of this new chuck holding system. We have adapters for most Yankee push drills for sale at this site, and also various screwdriver adapters too! We have been selling Yankee tooling for several years now, so please feel free to ask us, if you can't find what you need. This push drill is in very good working condition, with a few scratches and minor wear, about 60% nickel plating intact. The main advantage to these drills with the new straight shank drill adapter will allow you to use standard drill set bits in the small sizes.
