American Organist, Composer and Choirmaster

(1828-1902) Born in Albany, New York. He played the organ at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 1846-58, and St. Paul's Church, 1858-60, in Albany. In 1860, he moved to New York City to become the organist at Holy Trinity Church. After 10 years there, he became the organist and choir director at St. Thomas' Church in New York City. As a fitting tribute to Warren, no music was played at his funeral which was attended by thousands of mourners who believed that they could find no finer organist anywhere in the world. Among his compositions were "God of Our Fathers."
