Grease and color pencil drawing on paper by Andre Dunoyer de Segonzac. Purchased in a gallery on the Cote d'Azur about 1963. Annotated and signed at the bottom. Approx. 5.25" x 5.5". Valued at 400-600 Euros in 2010 by Christie's, Paris. Segonzac (1884-1974) was a contemporary and friend of Picasso, the Fauvists, the Cubists, and the Dadaists, but his inspirations were Cezanne, Corot, Courbet, and Poussin. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He worked in Paris, but he loved Provence, and did some of his best work there. There is another work by the artist on the back. Shipping extra. American, born 1921 D 2007. This lovely landscape painting measures 14 x 20 inches. The gold leaf frame measures 26.5 x 20.5 inches.Paul Warren Zimmerman, was an internationally known artist who lived and Hartford, Conn., formerly of Kokomo. He was born April 29, 1921, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Robert Frazee and Ethel Pearl (Cramer) Zimmerman.He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1941, with a full scholarship to John Herron Art School in Indianapolis. He graduated in 1946 with a B.F.A. Upon graduation he was awarded the Mary Milliken Memorial Fund Scholarship.He continued his training in New York City, under the auspices of Heinrich Mayer. In 1947 he became associate professor of painting and design at Hartford University School of Art. He semi-retired in 1986. He was awarded a Ford Foundation Grant, American Academy of Arts and letters and associate membership in the Academy of Painting and Design in 1959. Nineteen pieces of his works were brought to Kokomo in 1958 for display during the Spring Exhibit of Kokomo High School’s Fine Arts Students, under the direction of KHS art instructor Miss Bernice McKinley. This table measures 25.75 inches high, with a base that is 19 inches wide and 3 feet 8 inches long. The glass top measures 3 feet 11.5 inches. Condition, some use wear to base,and a small chip on the edge of the glass top along with some use surface scratches to the glass. This coffee tables design comes from the "Memphis movement".Memphis is, with Post-Modernism, a design language created as a reaction to Modernism; it differs from Post-Modernism in that it does not draw on historical architectural forms, and has a strong Pop inspiration. Willem de Kooning (April 24, 1904 to March 19, 1997) was an American abstract expressionist artist who was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In the post-World War II era, de Kooning painted in a style that came to be referred to as abstract expressionism or action painting, and was part of a group of artists that came to be known as the New York School.
